FAMILY REUNIONS, RETREATS AND BUSINESS MEETINGS ON THE BLUE RIVER.

Blue River Lodge Rental Photos and Description

8 Bedrooms, 7 Bathrooms, Sleeps 35+

The River's Edge Lodge and Retreat Center becomes home the moment you step inside. Welcoming and warm, your first words will be, 'WOW! This is awesome!' Then you will need to restrain the kids (and some adults), as they want to take off exploring this four level, rustic and elegant home. Once you get past the breathtaking open kitchen, dining and living area, it is an adventure to check out the many rooms. Every room has it's own thermostat, new TV (several smart TV's), wifi and ethernet port for your laptop or desktop internet access.

Bedrooms each have their own personality. Lower level is the Grand Slam room (guys love it) featuring stories and photos of the local trout fishing. Look out the window to see the Blue River, which is home to all five types of trout. A king bed and a twin bed allows sleeping for three people.

A few steps up is the next level with the kitchen that boasts, two Subzero side-by-side refrigerators, one beverage frig, a refrigerated drawer and a freezer drawer. Two massive islands with three large sinks, three full sized dishwashers, a beverage center, commercial coffee brewer, espresso machine and gourmet cooking equipment. The beautiful bar area between the kitchen and dining area seats at least seven (great place to watch the chefs in action and keep them company). Two dining tables seat 14, and additional tables and chairs can be added. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle together in this huge open space with a fireplace, spectacular river views out the many large windows (where it is not unusual to see wildlife grazing close enough to the house for great pics!) Two double French doors open to a large patio overlooking the river. Front and back patios feature original antique lampposts from old downtown Breckenridge. Large propane grill, new patio dining sets (seats 24) and jacuzzi make the back patio perfect for outdoor parties. All areas are furnished with unique antiques, local craftsmanship, mining relics, comfy leather couches, and delightfully comfortable beds. Decorated in black and white photos depicting the early days of Breck, along with the stories behind the photos, this lodge has a bit of a museum feel.

Up to the next level you will find the 'Gold Rush' room with a river view, king sized bed, twin bed, and a huge bathroom. Next door is my favorite room, the 'Vista Del Rio' room, with the best views in the house. You do not have to leave your room often, as this room features a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, microwave, and a full set of dishes. Also has a king and a twin bed, private bath with large tub and shower, and lots of space to live in. A drop leaf table conceals folding chairs inside, if you choose to have your own dining table in your room. Across the hallway on this level is the Tatonka room, decorated with my favorite, buffaloes and old native American photographs. A king bed, a twin bed and private bath make this a comfy room for at least three people. This level also has a large laundry room with two full-size washers and dryers.

Moving up to the highest level, the'Big Red Room' is perfect for singles or a family of seven. It is furnished with a king bed, two extra long twins, a twin/twin bunk and a twin sleeper sofa. As with all other rooms, it is furnished with a large HD television, Wi-Fi and ethernet Internet access, and its own bath with tub and shower. Plenty of space in this area for people to hang out together and have room for all their stuff. A love seat and recliner, a large work table, plenty of nightstands and lamps for everyone make it easy for you to feel right at home. Suitable for an entire family to share.

Moving on down the hallway leads to the magnificent master suite with another fantastic view over the river from its private balcony. A king bed, twin trundle beds, and a queen sleeper sofa, also make this room perfect for a family to enjoy together. The master bath is very large with a beautiful walk in shower with multiple showerheads, a huge bathtub, a bidet, and two vanities. Totally secluded from the rest of the house, this is definitely the first choice when staying at the River's Edge Lodge and Retreat Center. An optional room within the master sleeps two in twin beds (must request in advance).

Finally, a kids (and parents!) Paradise is found in the three room basement. The 'Man Cave' is furnished with two oversized, comfy sectionals, a ping-pong table, a foosball table, puzzles, games and cards. Of course, two 60' smart TV's make it perfect for the big game or family movie night. Tile flooring transforms this room into a perfect dance floor. (DJ available upon request for additional fee.)

The 'Bunker Room' sleeps five people, and the most fun..... The Romper Room finishes the basement playground. A great place for all the kids with a twin/twin bunk and. Twin/full bunk bed. This room is where you will find your kids most of the time, as the floor is padded with 2 1/2 inch karate maps, bean bag chairs, TV, and plenty of kid activities to keep them entertained for hours. With 10 portable 4' thick sleeping pads, this is the ultimate slumber party for at least a dozen guests.

Eddie and Nancy Cordoba have worked diligently for several years to build this fantastic home to share their love for the mountains and all Breckenridge and the beautiful Rockies have to offer. We finished building early 2013 and are excited to share our Lodge with our guests. We have chosen to devote our lives to this endeavor and do everything possible to make your event everything you dreamed of and more. Our motto - 'We are at your Breck and call'.

Nancy Cordoba purchased this lodge in 1988

This property is a one-of-a-kind treasure. It is very difficult to locate a place where multiple families can stay together comfortably. The location on the river, close to town, yet away from the hustle and bustle is very rare. The amenities far exceed most properties in the area.

The Lodge is rare find where large groups can vacation in the same house for family reunions, retreats, conferences, wedding parties, and other special occasions.

We rented this property for our Spring Break Ski Trip. It was perfect for our large family group to stay together. A beautiful, clean, large, roomy home that fit us perfectly. Space enough for kids to be downstairs while adults visited upstairs. Just a short drive to downtown Breckenridge. Beds, bedding and mattresses to sleep many! Beautiful surroundings and we had perfect snow! We would recommend this place and will most definitely be returning customers! Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful place with others!

Cozy ski weekend

We had a group of 14 stay for a long weekend in February. The house is large but still felt cozy and is tucked away in a wooded lot (nice and quiet!). It is about a mile away from town, an easy drive to the ski slopes at Breckenridge and town. All of the rooms were decorated and the bathrooms were well stocked with soap, towels, toilet paper, etc. The kitchen (also well stocked) and dining area were perfect for cooking family style meals. It was a bonus that we could all fit around one table! Nancy was very responsive when questions arose during our stay, even though she was out of town. Would definitely stay here again!

We just stayed in this beautiful home in Breckenridge. We had a large group of families with several children from age 1-9. The house is so big that we could spread out and enjoy our time without feeling like we were on top of each other.

The kitchen is amazing and made preparing meals for our party a breeze with 2 large subzero fridges and a 60" wolf range. Cleaning up was easy as well with the 3 sinks and dishwashers in the kitchen. There was plenty of room for everyone to eat at the large bar and two dining tables.

The kids had a blast in the basement watching movies and playing games, ping pong.

The snow never stopped the entire 4 days we were there. The driveway was plowed every morning for us to head up to the ski resort which is only minutes away. After skiing some of us enjoyed the nice hot tub on the patio.

If we had any questions or issues our needs were met within minutes and someone was there to help.

We made some wonderful memories and would love to have an annual gathering at this home with our friends!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much, Ali. Wow! I am delighted to read your review and very happy your group loved our place. I really am speechless, except I love your description of our home and wish you would have helped me write my listing for VRBO! We are just sorry we were not able to meet you and thankful to have Elvira and Cha Chi to take care of your needs. We appreciate your business, the care you showed for our home, and look forward to serving you again.

Great Place with Great Owners

We just got back from this house and we can't say enough about Nancy and Eddie. They really care about their renters and will always go the extra mile for you. Communication was never a problem and they were understanding and helpful with any situation. I've never seen two people take care of so much, it's clear that they put themselves into this lodge. If there's any hesitation to decide between lodges, go with this River's Edge lodge. The house is so welcoming and warm when you walk in, and the service cannot be beaten. We appreciated being able to stay here for a busy holiday weekend to get away from it all, and couldn't have asked for a more accommodating environment and service. Come here for your next large gathering, Nancy and Eddie will make you a hero for setting it up!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much, John, for your review and your stay at River's Edge. We really are so appreciative of your cooperation and willingness to take care of our pride and joy! Your help making the turnover for the next group was greatly appreciated! It was a pleasure doing business with such a fine group of people. So happy you enjoyed your stay. Good luck to all of you in your careers. Eddie and Nancy

Thanksgiving Dream Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This home was absolutely a dream! It completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked into the main entry and into the kitchen/great room, I was in awe. The kitchen was beautiful, not to mention gigantic along with the attached great room. It was perfect for our large group of 40 people, including kids. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner there and the kitchen was fully equipped with most everything we needed to make our traditional dishes that we wanted to make. All the kids had fun down in the basement while us adults enjoyed hanging out in the main area playing cards, eating and watching football. I also loved that this home was so close to Breckenridge, but yet just off the beaten path enough that you felt like you were away from all the crowds and a little more secluded. I was the one that booked this home for our group, and everyone in our group was so impressed with this home. Many kept saying that this was like a dream vacation for them. One of the most positive things about this home was dealing with the owner. She was so positive and willing to do whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone!

Owner's Response: Wow! I am speechless as to how to respond to this. Very well spoken! I could not have described my mission statement any better. I am so happy that you and your family had such a nice vacation. Okay, I confess, this review made me cry. Thank you so much, it makes all the hard work well worth it. We hope you come back again someday.
