We have vacationed in Murphy since I was a child and my family has vacationed here for 20 years. After the last 10 years of renting we bought this cabin this year. We have rented the best and some not the best and know what is important to the renting vacationer.
After many upgrades and improvements we are now ready to share our home with you. We hope you will fall in love with Murphy as we have and continue to enjoy it as we do.
Most of our time is spent white water rafting, hiking, tubing at Deep Creek, and many other activities. Horseback is very close, and we are known to rent a boat and tube on lake Hiawassee.
Steven Turner purchased this cabin in 2013
Heaven's Ridge is that perfect combination of location, privacy, views, and comfort. Creature comforts are included like HD TV's with DirecTV service, and WiFi throughout the house and porches. We have included everything we can to make your stay perfect. From spices to coolers, we know vacationing in Murphy. A basement is important as it allows for a separate play or fun area.
You don't have to spend $$$$ to get a great home with spectacular views, a hot tub, pool table, DirecTV, WiFi, and so much more. See our reviews and come stay at Heaven's Ridge Cabin.
Our family had a great time at this cabin. It was just as the pictures show and the view is amazing. Pulling up the driveway never got old! The owner was great to work with and made the visit very easy. The one 'negative' came from my 4 yr old daughter and she said there were not enough toys in the cabin. This was my own fault & should have brought more from home for her. But she quickly discovered the swing in the side yard, and that made everything all better! We loved the quiet area and watching for the wildlife!
Everything about this vacation was made very easy by the homeowner getting right back with me when I had a question. This was the perfect choice for our trip. The view is absolutely amazing. The last morning we were there there was fog on the mountains, it was magical.
We hope to stay here again the next time we visit the area.
Thanks for allowing us to use Heavens Ridge. We have used it several times before and find it is one of our favorite places. There is a beautiful long range mountain view from the deck. We saw wild turkey several times and deer also.
Murphy is a sleepy but friendly mountain town of less than 2000 that is not a tourist trap like some of the other places but has plenty of mountain scenery.
The best places to eat is Rib Country for BBQ and Main Street Café for a good meal. Main Street is where the locals eat.
We have four boyz (20, 17, 14 & 13). All enjoyed themselves immensely. My wife and I enjoyed it as well. Stairs leading to the lower level can be a little tough to get up and down and pay attention. Light switches were tough to figure out but we got it eventually.
You wake to turkeys and deer most mornings. Cabin is rustic and quaint, which is what we were looking for. Owner is very accommodating, friendly, ans seemed personable. Despite the minor adjustments that you have to make to acclimated to the home we would highly recommend this place to families (with or without children), couples, healthy older adults, etc.
We will return.
This was our second stay at Heaven's Ridge. The location is secluded and relaxing, and the view of the mountains from the deck is awesome. Posted pictures are accurate. Accommodations are attractive, clean, comfortable, and a great deal for the price. Hot tub is handy on cool nights after a day of hiking national park trails (Nantahala, Cherokee, and Smoky Mountains). Owner is responsive to questions and concerns. By the way, here's some tourist info: If you're looking for local Western North Carolina style ribs, most of the non-chain places are only open Thursdays through Sundays. We learned that the hard way. John C. Campbell Folk School is in nearby Brassville if you want to learn woodworking, gardening, music, etc. Also check hours of "the dump" where you can drop off your trash and recycling when you leave. Some days it opens in the morning and some days not until 1 p.m.
My husband I and enjoyed a very peaceful and serene weekend at Heavens Ridge. The view of the mountains from the hot tub are spectacular! The owner was very quick to meet our needs when we found that the coffee pot had failed. A new one arrived in just a few hours, averting a crisis for us :). Would certainly recommend for a quiet and romantic getaway. Lots of opportunities for adventure nearby. We enjoyed the river walk in Murphy and the Fires Creek trails offered great mountain vistas.
