Beautiful beach home, completed remodeled, new kitchen cabinets, all tile through , fence back yard perfect for kids and pets, across the street from the beach, two block from the marina, eight blocks to down town.
I am a Realtor in the State of Florida , I have been married for 33 years have three kids all of them adults. I have two grandchildren a girl and a boy.
Ana Danton purchased this house in 2007
I chose this area because the beach, for years I vacation in this area with my family. My husband and myself dream to have a little house that we can retire one day. And Venice Island is the perfect place Fun for the entire family including the dogs and their beach, Art, Music, Beach, Marina Restaurants, it is a great place to be.
I am walking distance to everything , Down town , multiple Restaurants, the Marina, and the beach. Don't need to get in a car if we don't feel like getting in a car.
it is save if you feel like walking at night you can.
First of all, I would like to comment on the positive aspects of this property. The best thing about this place was the location. It was a very short walk to the beach, close to the jetty and a walkable distance to downtown. The location was the only thing that justified the rental cost. We loved that it was a single family home with a private backyard and a usable grill. Also, Ana was kind enough to let us park our boat in the driveway. The bathroom was remodeled and there was tile floor throughout. On the negative side, there were no written instructions on how to operate the TV, access the internet, or control the outdoor lighting or shower control. We had to make numerous calls to Ana and her son to obtain the information. The TV was a very small, ancient tube type TV which was too small for the space. The TV and internet were turned off for a short period of time until Ana paid the bill. The inside of the kitchen cabinets were very dusty. I spent several days scrubbing them out and applying shelf paper. I had to do the same to the bedroom dresser in the 2nd bedroom. The kitchen supplies were very lacking and I had buy extra pots, pans, kitchen utensils and cleaning utensils (many of which I left for the next renter). There was no dishwasher and washing everything by hand became tiresome after 2 months. The 2nd bedroom was just a closed in porch with no air conditioning or heat. There were no top sheets for the twin beds which I had to buy myself. There was a dead tree outside which had hoards of bees swarming around. I had to buy lots of bee spray to use whenever I was outside otherwise I was unable to sit out without being bothered. The side door leading into the 2nd bedroom (closed in porch) had a large gap which I had to tape off or bees would enter the house through the opening. The house smelled of dogs and the dog smell when I turned on the vacuum cleaner was so strong that I was unable to use it. I never leave negative comments but the list of negatives was so large that I wanted to be honest for future renters.
We had a really nice time at this cozy house. It has everything that we needed for the week. Ana was great and had been very responsive as we prepared and moved it. The location was ideal for us. We walked to the beach several times a day. We used our bikes to visit attraction and grocery shopped. We did a nice bike ride from the house up the legacy trail to Sarasota for lunch. Everything was good and we cannot wait to come back again. Thank you!
I had a fantastic experience staying here. It is a cozy and comfortable home with a beautiful entrance and the perfect backyard for my dog! The surroundings are calm and quiet... lets just say I've never slept better! The property is also next to the beach and there's a dog park+beach nearby which was one of my favorite things about Venice. All the amenities were taken care of, so all I had to do was focus on relaxing. Highly recommended!!!
This was an incredible find! This home was at a great price for the great location. It is about a five minute walk from the beach. We didn't have to drive, pack the car or worry about anything. We could wake up, walk to the beach in the morning, go to the town center (which is ten minutes or less by car from the home) for lunch and then return to the beach for the afternoon. It was really a great find! The home is very cozy, comfortable and feels nice. It has a nice deck in the back to enjoy a BBQ or just drink tea relaxing outside. For us, it was a perfect find in a great location for the price! would recommend for a relaxing time at an affordable rate. The owner was easily accessible and we didn't have anything to worry about during our vacation.
This house is located in such a great area. It's so close, crossing the street close, to the beach that it makes a trip to the water a blessing. I loved the homey feeling of the place. It isn't some major chain, it is a nice home you can feel really relaxed in. The street it is located on seems to have very nice neighbors. There are buildings between the house and the beach but there is a walkway just to the side you can use to cross to the beach. The house is such a nice place to kick up your feet after a visit at their Downtown area, which is easily in walking distance if you don't mind the Beach Sun, or after a few hours on the sand and in the water. When I stayed the house doesn't sport any fancy electronics like flat screens, it does have Comcast internet and TV. I was able to do what I needed online and watch some T.V. when I wasn't out. It isn't much in the electronics department, don't expect HD TV, with Surround Sound theater system, but that's not why I went to a relaxing trip to a beach town anyway. There is this inlet a little ways off, you can see it from the Beach. It's called the jetty, people are usually fishing there but what I loved the most is the wildlife you can find. You also see a lot of people at times with these polls and a little basket at the end. I found out the Venice beach areas are known for their fossil shark teeth deposits. Apparently there are a lot of old shark teeth all over the place. Downtown is a short distant away so I decided to walk it whenever I wanted to visit the many stores and shops. There are nice places to sit down and eat, or enjoy a treat. It's not a big place but that's what I love about it. The small lively spirit of a beach town with some European touches here and there. Something else I found out driving around the island, it's not very big, there are public beaches, one near the house the other one is at the far end of the island by the pier and restaurant which are next to the airport. While talking to the owner she was very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. She even allowed me to bring my dog on this vacation. There is a dog beach by the pier/restaurant near the airport. It has a water fountain for the dogs, an area to bath them and it is located a little ways from the beach which helps keep the sand off when the dog is bathed and washed off. A walk way with a gate links to the beach. I found the people that were at the dog beach to be very friendly. It was a great vacation!
This was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed every second of this vacation. The beach is just a walk away from the property. The house was lovely and very warm and cozy. It was perfect for us. The owners where very accommodating and made booking the property very smooth. Can't wait to return!
We are with in walking distance to the Marina you can rent a bicycle, or a canoe early in the morning. I also love to see the Dolphins before Sunset. Because we have dogs I enjoy the Dog Beach 3 miles from the house . In addition to that I love our multiple arts festival in Down Town, one mile from the house.
