The rental is better than the ad and review. Me and my grandkids had the best of times, or as they said the best ever. especially without electronic access. We completed the zigsaw puzzle with four pieces missing, we left a new one that is harder but with complete pieces as far as we know. The frying pans sucked so we also left a non stick pan for future guests. We could not complain about anything. It was a perfect place, a perfect time, and the best time ever. We will be back. Keep the doors locked to keep the bears out, the tracks were in the snow to the doors. Watch for the big round black bird that bounces up and down on the shore of the creek and dives on the side of the creek to get what he wants and pops out again. So cool. The snow made us leave a day early. It was hard to do so. The access road was grated twice a day, but with our travel back to KY it was necessary. Kansas travel sucked. If you want a perfect place to say, I have to recommend this cabin for the most fun and happiness that you would want to find for the perfect vacation. Thank you Linda!!
The cabin was lovely and well maintained. The kitchen is stocked with the basics. Best of all there is no cellphone reception. A wonderful way to relax.
Hello - We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It is recently redone and has wonderful furnishings and appointments. Better equipted than they admit. Pine and Sphinx Park has a wonderful history and lots of local interest. A deep canyon with a tight road and beautiful rock formations. You are close to good food and lots of wildlife. The stream is close enough to keep the white noise plentiful. You will sleep well. Nice bedding, good soaking tub, and thoughtful owners. Didn't really use the downstairs as upstairs was plenty big for us. Close to a great lake, fishing, and more. Better yet, skip it - stay at the cabin and make a big bacony breakfast, watch a movie, and drink wine. I wish we could have stayed longer. I hope to use this cabin again, or at least purchase something nearby and try to make it as nice. Thank you.
GREAT place to stay if you are looking for something out of the ordinary - the Bucksnort saloon is within an easy walk, surroundings are breath taking, to say the least, and the cabin was newer interior pine finish, great furnishings, wonderful view(s) from the deck and just overall wonderful - worked well for 3 of us! We will be back!
This cabin was so beautiful. The views were amazing. To wake up and be able to walk out on the patio and see the mountains and hear the stream running right in front of the cabin was breath taking. The community the cabin is in is awesome. Everyone we encountered in the community was super nice. The staff at the bucksnort was so kind. The beds in the house were high quality. Very soft and the bedding wasn't cheap at all. Very soft and comfortable. We will definitely be booking this cabin again. The owners are super sweet and do anything they can to help. Highly recommended
We really enjoyed our stay at Elk Creek Cabin. It is a historic cabin on Elk Creek that has clearly been given a lot of love and attention by its owners to bring it up to modern standards.
We really enjoyed the location in Sphinx Park and would definitely come again.
