Stylish, great location and wheelchair friendly.
Accessible and tasteful - I recently rented this apartment from Janet and Peter to accommodate my parents-in-law who were visiting us in London. My father-in-law is in a wheelchair so finding suitable, stylish and well located properties is always a challenge. We were thrilled with the standard of this apartment, impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and spacious enough to accommodate and maneuver a wheelchair throughout. The building is modern and has wide communal doors and a lift accessing the apartment from street level.
Comfortable living areas - The apartment was stocked with some basic food essentials on our arrival, which was a lovely touch. The kitchen was well equipped and I happily cooked a number of family meals there, with the lounge room and dining table comfortably accommodating 4 adults and my own 2 young children. There is a lovely large terrace overlooking the river and the Canary Wharf skyline, which would be spectacular for dining and relaxing in the warmer months. The terrace does have a step to access it from the lounge or the bedroom so this might not be accessible to some wheelchair users.
Quiet bedroom - The one bedroom is a good size and has a Super King size bed and the bedroom overlooks the terrace and the river so it’s lovely and quiet.
Good size modern bathroom - The bathroom is a good size, is in “as new” condition, and has a bathtub and a detachable shower over it.
Superb location - I live just around the corner and can confirm that the area is fabulous for exploring London on foot or by public transport (Bermondsey tube - 4 minutes walk, London Bridge tube and overground – 15 minutes walk along the river). Shad Thames itself is an area of significant interest with it’s beautiful historic warehouses and cobbled streets, bordered by the Thames river and with the fabulous Tower Bridge, Shard and City skyline as a backdrop. For this reason Shad Thames is very popular place for filming of both international TV and blockbuster films. There is a great mix of high end restaurants and more reasonably priced options available, many with fabulous views of the river and Tower Bridge.
Highly Recommended - I would highly recommend the apartment to any visitors to London who are looking for comfortable, quiet and stylish accommodation, walking distance to many of London’s attractions, with public transport nearby, and with the added bonus of being suitable for wheelchair users.
