Our Island View home is directly on peaceful Northern Lake George. Lake George is known as the 'Queen of American Lakes.' Majestic panoramic views from every room.
We are in the quiet hamlet of Hague, in the North Basin of Lake George. Inside or out, you are literally steps from the lake. Here you can relax and forget the rest of the world.
This is a two story house, with the living/dining area and kitchen on the first floor, and three bedrooms, a sleeping/lounging porch and 2 bathrooms on the second floor.
There is a large brick patio, and an 8 foot wide dock. The patio has 2 tables, comfortable outdoor furniture, a gas grill and an outdoor fireplace. Wood is provided for campfires! The entire property is beautifully planted with flowers.
Boat docking for a small (18-20 feet) is reserved for your use. There is a marina one block away for boat rentals. Our dock is shared with the owner and 2 other boats. The boat dockers are strictly 'load and go.' They do not use the dock except to access their boats. They are very friendly people, and respect your privacy. We are a one block walk to Hague Beach and park, which is a great spot for swimming, picnics, etc. There is a lifeguard on duty at the Beach.
The first floor consists of a great room living and dining area. There is a queen-size sleep sofa in the living room. The entire lake side of the living/dining area is glass windows overlooking the lake. There is a dining table seating 6-8, and a fun restaurant style booth that seats 4. The living area has a 19 inch color/cable TV with VCR and DVD. There is also a small CD player with connector for ipod type devices. A highlight of the living area is a beautiful stained glass window.
The living/dining area is separated from the kitchen by a great bar/breakfast counter. This is the perfect spot for eating, or relaxing with a drink. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size stove and refrigerator, dishwasher, as well as a microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, electric griddle, and all basic cooking and serving utensils.
Upstairs the master bedroom is a large room with a KING-size bed next to a huge picture window overlooking the lake. Relax while listening to the sound of waves lapping the shore! The master bedroom opens to a balcony overlooking the lake. This is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise, or catch a spectacular moon rise across the lake. The balcony is rimmed with flower boxes. This room also has a dresser, and a sitting area with 2 chairs. There is a large closet. The master bedroom has a private bath with tub/shower. This room also opens to the sleeping/lounging porch.
The second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed, as well as a dresser. This bedroom faces the lake.
Both bedrooms are air conditioned, and have TV's with DVD players.
A third small bedroom has a twin bed, and a lovely lake view. This bedroom is not air conditioned.
There is a delightful sleeping/lounging porch, ringed with windows overlooking the lake. This room has a double bed, a desk and a small table and chairs. This is the perfect spot for lounging, reading, and relaxing.
This room is accessed through the master bedroom or bedroom or second bedroom.
The entire lakeside of the building is the Island View Rental. The front of the building houses my charming antique and gift shop, 'Old Glory.' You have your privacy, but during the day I am nearby to assist you in anyway you may need with household needs, travel/tourist advice, etc. Our guests enjoy the personalized service we are always happy to provide!
The furnishings are Adirondack 'lodge' casual but comfortable. Games, puzzles, cards, etc. are ready for the kids.
Quoted rates are for a 'housekeeping unit' meaning that there is no daily maid service. Maid service can be arranged if desired. Tenants are asked to bring their own sheets and towels. Plenty of pillows and blankets are available. Linen/towel service may be arranged if desired, or if you will be flying instead of driving. Beach towels are not provided. No towels are to be removed from the premises. There is no washer, but laundry service is available if requested. A laundromat is located in Ticonderoga, where you will also find groceries, gas, banks, and other services.
Parking is provided for two vehicles. If you need more space for an additional vehicle, boat trailer, etc, please let us know and we gladly make arrangements. No RV parking is allowed. No guests are allowed to sleep on boats.
There is no smoking inside the building.
The hamlet of Hague is a tiny, lovely Adirondack village. While staying at the Island View you can walk to the 'Oldest General Store in the Adirondacks.' The town also has several antique and specialty shops. There is a small family restaurant with a bar. You can also walk to our beautiful Town Beach and Boat Ramp. Hike to our Hague waterfall, or enjoy other hikes on nearby trails. Three churches are within walking distance. Other restaurants are located in nearby Ticonderoga. Fort Ticonderoga, Saratoga, Lake Placid, and Vermont are all easy drives away. There is an Amtrak Railroad station in Ticonderoga, with daily service to New York City. If you need transportation to the train station we can provide it for you.
Our Lake George rental offers a three season paradise! Spend the summer on the lake swimming, boating, and water-skiing. Fish for Bass, Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon. Enjoy spectacular fall foliage. History, scenery, hiking, art, antiquing, museums and shopping are all nearby, while you enjoy the peace and serenity of the Adirondack Mountains. We are one hour north of Saratoga, famous for horse racing. Ticonderoga is 10 miles away, with Fort Ticonderoga and access to Lake Champlain. Vermont is a scenic ferry boat ride away!

Sandra Rust purchased this house in 1995
The northern part of Lake George is the most beautiful part of the lake, as it is quieter and slower paced. Bruce grew up camping on the nearby islands with his family, and it is a dream come true to have the good fortune to call a piece of Lake George home. Hague is a wonderful town to spend a day or a lifetime...
Our home is located directly on Lake George. The house sits less than 10 feet from the lake! The views are breathtaking, and the lake is spectacular anytime of the day or night. Gorgeous sunrises and moonrises are not to be missed. We are just minutes by boat to the wonderful Waltonian Island group. We love being able to walk to the town beach for summer concerts, the Hague waterfall and brook for peace and serenity, and the Hague General store to meet friends and pick up supplies and maybe a great pie!
Highly recommend staying at the Island View! We have stayed with Bruce & Sandy for many years with our family and we loved every minute. You couldn't ask for two nicer people to rent from they are the best!!! They spoiled us so much we had to buy our own house on Lake George so we can see them more often. I give the Island View 5 stars!
Great location, very roomy very clean house, Nice large dock excellent fishing , owners are very accommodating and super friendly.... And that's the reason why I am booked for July... My daughter can't get enough of fishing .... Catching them one after another
We live about 1 hr south of lake george and wanted to get away a few nights for my parents 50 anniversary! The owners are very kind people And

Great option because less touristy then lake george village area. Sandy met us upon arrival to go over details of house. It is a great place for families with kids we have a baby, 3 and 5 year old. We went after Labor Day when stay didn't have to be a week which we like since we live in area.thanks so much for opening up your house to us!!!!
Awesome place! Cannot beat location lakeshore with dock for boat and swimming. Great for kayaking also. Firepit and large patio area immediately adjacent to lake make mornings and evenings that much more enjoyable.
We were fortunate to find Island View in Hague when we were searching for a place for the whole family to enjoy vacation together. Island View is lovely. The pictures reflect it perfectly. View is spectacular! The owners are very accommodating. Beds comfy. Clean and neat. The outside flowers give the house that "cozy cottage " feel. We enjoyed the kayaks that are available for renters' use. I would recommend at stay at Island View.
Highly recommend this beautiful lake side home! The location is ideal-direct waterfront! Quiet town of Hague allows you to really relax! The owners are very prompt in responding to questions , provide great details about the home and the area , and are available throughout your stay to help whenever needed! The kitchen is well stocked for all of your cooking needs! We loved the outdoor space this home offered!
Island View has been our summer family getaway for a few years now. With each year we have come to appreciate it more and more, but this past summer Island View became the place where one of our sons asked his long-time girlfriend to marry him. Under the stars , at the end of the dock, on a beautiful summer's night , he asked and she accepted. We woke up that morning to another incredible sunrise and their good news. He chose that spot on purpose, because of the memories they'd already shared on the Lake.
We love it here! The views are spectacular, the house itself so comfortable and always being upgraded. There is ample room to spread out or be together. The lake is at your doorstep. We spend most nights around the fire pit . You couldn't ask for better hosts than Bruce and Sandy- they are attentive to detail and want nothing more than for their guests to enjoy the ultimate lake experience , but at this point we feel more like family. We knew right away that Island View was a special place, now it's even more so.
