Perched atop this funky 1900 San Francisco Victorian is a warm 1,100 square foot comfortable apartment complete with vaulted/peaked ceilings, with a nice collection of unique art pieces and a magnificent view from the 3rd floor deck. This Alamo Square/Hayes Valley marvel puts you in the heart of the city...literally within walking distance to the ¨uber trendy Hayes Valley.
This warm and bright, open format, top floor Victorian flat has 3 sleeping areas and is fully furnished with a nice collection of unique art pieces throughout. The unit has hardwood floors, open-airy high peaked ceilings with skylights in every room that brings in a lot of natural sunlight to this top floor. Catch some crosswind when the back door is open to the deck.
There are 2 north-facing rooms that both feed into the living room. This front bedroom has a queen-size bed with a 32in flat screen with Direct TV satellite service and a closet with full length mirrors. Adjacent to this bedroom is its own sitting area that has a screen partition that separates these two rooms. It includes a full-size, pull-out sofabed that can sleep another two. You can close off this section from the main living room/kitchen area with its French doors if you want some additional privacy.
There is a 50” flat screen with Direct TV satellite service and a DVD player, large east-facing windows that lets in ample light with multiple skylights that can open to let in fresh air and provides an open feel in this room. This large room flows into the open dining area that includes the usual kitchen amenities with a fridge, microwave and a gas stove. There is a large, comfortable leather sectional sofa here with a matching ottoman which gives you plenty of relaxing space to lounge around.

This back bedroom has a queen-size bed and it also has its own living room/sitting area as well. Also included here is a 50in flat screen 3-D HDTV with Direct TV satellite service for your pleasure. Being on the top floor, this room has a wealth of warmth: bright, natural sunlight. It leads onto an outside deck with a sprawling view of San Francisco with its beautiful, breath-taking skyline. There is a built-in fan in the ceiling and has adjustable, soft lighting available. This room has its own door that can be sectioned off if you want additional privacy from the main living room.
NOTE: You will climb a narrow staircase to the top/3rd floor of this flat so for those who have stayed in older French style buildings with stairs, you will feel right at home!
There is a grocery store/corner market conveniently located across the street, H&W Market. It opens at 830am and closes late on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. It has coffee and a very good deli with a variety of fresh, made-to-order sandwiches. Other deli items include lasagna, tamales, cheeses, macaroni & potato salads, etc.... for those late night hunger pains.
Up the street to your right as you leave the building, on Fillmore Street is a local coffee shop, Alamo Square Cafe has plenty of breakfast goodies and good coffee to choose from.
Also nearby is a mini mall that has a large supermarket, SAFEWAY... south of the apt (left on Webster St when you leave the building) just about a half a mile down the road.
There is an additional fee if you wish to have daily towel and daily linen service by our housekeeper/host. There is a coin-operated laundromat conveniently located at the corner from the apartment with last wash 75 minutes before closing. Wash & Fold service is also provided here which you pay by the pound with a 24-48hr turn-around time. Hours of operation are:

We are centrally located in the heart of SF. Alamo Square / Hayes Valley is one of the most vibrant and revitalized neighborhoods in San Francisco. It includes wine bars, cafes, five-star restaurants, high-end boutiques, clubs, bars, close to movie theaters, Civic Center/City Hall, museums, the symphony & the Opera House and much more. Public transportation is very convenient with a bus line right across the street if you want to head downtown (21 Hayes). The 5 Fulton line is just 2 blocks away.
You can find some of the best coffee and foods in this part of the city and much more in the nearby districts. Also within 1 mile walking distance is the Fillmore District which offers the same with a handful of jazz clubs to enjoy. You have the Painted Ladies to the right and City Hall to the left, Western Addition behind you and the Lower Haight in front of you. Great spot to be!
I suggest to use public transportation. The 21 HAYES is right outside of our apartment! This convenient bus line will take you directly downtown and connects onto other bus lines that will bring you to other neighborhoods throughout the city. Another bus line close by is the 5 FULTON which is only 2 blocks south of us (behind the apt). It's only a 10 minute walk to Van Ness MUNI station, and 15 minute walk to Civic Center MUNI station for BART and other MUNI lines.
MUNI is an integral part of public transit in our city, operating year round and connecting with regional transportation services, such as BART, Caltrain, SamTrans, and AC Transit.

The city's lone subway tube is called MUNI Metro; also 3 cable car lines, and a heritage streetcar line known as the F Market & Wharves. MUNI shares 4 metro stations with BART. Travelers can connect onto San Francisco & Oakland International Airports via BART.
Convenient for driving. We do not have a garage. Parking is very expensive here in SF!! FREE parking can be found on our residential streets nearby. Metered parking are on most business areas. Located just off highways 101, 280, and 80. VERY EASY ACCESS to the freeway and only 2 mins away from our apt which leads you right to Oakland Airport and the SF International Airport.
You can explore many nearby neighborhoods by walking a mile or two in every direction from the apt.
Other Things to Note:
This building still has the original narrow staircase from the 1900's. The spiral staircase was removed so you can get through with your suitcases!
We have a small water heater so it's best to take short, quick showers in order to have enough hot water to go around for a large group...especially since we are experiencing a drought/water shortage in CA.
At present, the hot tub cannot be offered as an amenity at this time. The blower/jets work but it takes quite a while to heat up. The wiring will be changed out from 110 to 220v at a later date. Our apologies.
The main closet is 3/4 full of the owner's personal belongings and clothing. You may hang some of your clothes there if you wish or hang your clothes on the suit rack provided or on the rack in the second bedroom.
There will be an additional fee for laundry service if you want more towels other than what was provided and/or linen service. Please be considerate of our water shortage/drought in CA.
There is a key/knob for the skylight windows in the island drawer if you wish to open and/or close them. You can open the back door to the deck to catch a gentle breeze.

Centrally located we are 1.5 miles from Golden Gate Park, 1 mile from the Haight/Ashbury, .5 miles from Japan town, a short bus ride to downtown (Union Square and shopping), 5 miles to Ocean Beach. Our neighborhood is safe and diverse, it is urban yet filled with lush areas of green, grass and trees uniques open park spaces unique to San Francisco.

Within a few blocks of each other is Blue Bottle Coffee, Four Barrel Coffee, Ritual Coffee, The Fatted Calf Meats, Gourmet and More, Beirgarten, Suppenkucke, Stacks, La Boulange, Boxing Room, Bar Jules, Absinthe, Pause Wine Bar, Sebo Sushi, and for sweet tooth fans Charles Elbow Chocolates and Smitten Ice Cream. Clothing and Interior Design boutiques are another in high numbers in this perfect neighborhood.
