Nestled among the evergreens in the beautiful Mt. Hood National Forest, this lovely two-bedroom lodge with loft offers modern living spaces, an expansive wraparound deck, and a wonderful location to explore the Mt. Hood National Forest at any time of year!
Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood more than two miles from Highway 26, you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet in the forest. The Sandy River passes through the area! In the wintertime, skiing and snowboarding await just ten miles up the highway at SkiBowl, with Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows just a little further on.
During the summer months you are invited to enjoy our community outdoor pool/tennis court/basketball court, located less than a mile from the lodge.
The living area features tall windows overlooking the surrounding pine trees, with custom hardwoods and unique design lending the space an airy, open feel. Cushioned benches line the windows for afternoon reading, and a 50' flat-screen cable TV sits before the cherry red sofa for movie nights. Enjoy streaming Netflix, cable or watch a dvd on our Blu-ray player. Enjoy great sound from the blue tooth sound bar that easily connects to any smart phone.
The home has a modern kitchen with all the dinnerware and cooking utensils you might need to prepare meals, along with a dishwasher for easy clean-up. There's seating for six at the glass-topped dining table, and a sliding glass door out to the deck allows plenty of fresh air to breeze in during the warmer months. In the winter, there's nothing more romantic than watching the snow fall as you share a home-cooked meal. Also, take advantage of our propane grill on the deck to truly enjoy the tastes of summer.
We have also added for your extra enjoyment of the forest, a 6 person private hot tub, just steps from the sliding door off the master bedroom. wonderful to enjoy during any season, whether relaxing after a day skiing, or enjoying the sounds nature has to offer in the summertime. Before you take a soak in the hot tub, you may also want to enjoy the wood fire pit in the backyard situated right in front of the serene forest, and have some s'mores with the family.
The lower level has a beautifully dressed queen bed with amazing views out into the dense forest. Upstairs, a second bedroom sleeps four with a twin bunk bed and twin daybed with a trundle. 32' flat-screen tv with DVD player and Wii with games provided. This room even has its own small balcony on the upper level, perfect for stargazing on clear nights. The open loft sleeps two more guests on its own comfortable queen bed, allowing up to 10 guests to comfortably share the space. The loft is also beautifully adorned with curtains all the way across the open area. The upper level has a full bath shower/tub combo, and the lower level has a half bath for everyone's convenience.
Working while you're away? Wireless Internet access is provided. We also offer cable along with Netflix access for those who prefer no commercials in their TV viewing! Children, teenagers and adults alike can enjoy the Wii with family friendly games provided. Make sure to visit the garage for a friendly game of foosball or air hockey.
This lodge makes a wonderful getaway and feels quite secluded, but if you don't feel like cooking one night, you'll find a handful of restaurants just two miles away in the little town of ZigZag. Best of all, groceries are within very easy reach at the Thriftway near Welches, less than ten minutes' drive from your door.
With a convenient location and a private, forested surrounding, this cozy family home is the perfect getaway for your next Mt. Hood adventure!
We love sharing our love of the mountain and nature with anyone and everyone we can! Our 4 wonderful children are the joy of our lives and we have been blessed enough to be able to share a bit of this with them. Our hope is to give other families the same experiences we have had over the years.
Craig & Stacy purchased this lodge in 2013
With the secluded wooded area, our kids feel like they are in a modern tree house. We love to take them swimming and on all the trails that are so close near by!
Close to everything! EVERY SEASON! Skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing! This place is close to it all!
Our family of 4 where joined by another family of 4 to celebrate my son's 8th birthday. We all had am amazing time and used all of the wonderful amenities this beautifully decorated home provided. There are alot of stairs, the downstairs bed leaves alot to be dedited and the cutlery is in desperate need of sharpening. But other then that it's a great place!
This is definatly not a cabin but a gaudy wanna be pearl district home. The house advertised ping pong table and other garadge games. The table was broken and unable to use.The day before we came up we were informed the gas bbq didnt work. You need to bring your own cleaning crew if you would like your cleaning deposit back.Plenty of real nice CABINS to rent just not this one.
We stayed over Christmas and we were pleasantly surprised to arrive to find the owners had taken the time to put up holiday decorations, complete with a trimmed tree in the corner and even icicle lights strung across the loft bedroom's railing. Since we had a toddler with us, we would had to have gone out and gotten a tree for Santa to put presents under, so it was so nice to have that done for us. As if that wasn't enough, the owners even arranged to have a 20-lb turkey delivered to us a few days before Christmas so that we could have a nice holiday dinner. The kitchen made it very possible to accomplish that. They really went out of their way to make it a special family vacation.
The house does have a completely updated kitchen and bathrooms, along with top-of-the-line electronics in the living room and bedrooms. I slept in the loft bedroom and will say the bed was awesome. My Mom slept in the master bedroom downstairs and she said it was fine enough, but just that the wood frame squeaked when you moved. There is both a DVD player and Wii gaming system upstairs in the the kids' room, so you don't have to worry about your kids staying occupied. The hot tub is probably the largest I have seen anywhere and will fit 4 adults very comfortably, but could probably hold 7-8. I would recommend bringing flip-flops for everyone as if you don't take your shoes off immediately upon entering the house, you track in the pine needles that are just all over the stairs and deck.
The house is located in a cul-de-sac about 2 miles off of Hwy 26, and there is a grocery store about 3 miles away, plus a couple of great family restaurants all within 5 miles of the house. You are also only about a 15-20 minute drive from skiing and tubing. It is a great location.
In closing, it was an enjoyable stay and the owners go over and above to be attentive to your needs. I would say the only thing missing was a real fireplace. It was actually surprising there wasn't one there because it just seems like a house where it would have originally been built in and I guess I never noticed in the pictures that there wasn't one there. Also, it has been said a couple times before in past reviews, but there really are a lot of stairs in this place and they cannot be avoided. Just a cautionary warning for anyone that may have bad knees as this probably is not the place for you. Other than that, everyone else would have a very enjoyable time.
Our stay at the Cabin was amazing. Luckily we arrived during the years first winter storm. We have spent many weekends in the area through the years and would have to say that this cabin will be the first one we will be calling from now on for future trips. The location is great, secluded on a quiet cul-de-sac yet only a few minutes away from a store and a few restaurants. The place was warm when we arrived and so clean you could eat off the kitchen floor. Everything was easy to use (TV, Wifi, hot tub) and organized ready for you to relax. We cooked a wonderful dinner in the kitchen that is fully stocked with anything and everything you need. After dinner I shoveled a path to the hot tub where we enjoyed a hot soak under the stars. We took a short walk through the woods down to the river where we took some amazing nature photo shots. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, clean, extremely comfortable cabin in the woods. The bed we slept in was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. A big thanks to the owners for sharing your cabin with us. We will be back very soon.
We were very pleased with our stay included 2 nights in this 3 bedroom cabin. It was warm and inviting with awesome accommodation (hot tub, stocked kitchen) and close to town as well as Portland. I also wanted to add that the owners go above and beyond ensuring that you are welcomed and well cared for during your trip. I would highly recommend this place!!
This house in the woods is lovely, and when looking out feels like you are in a treehouse. Our family of four stayed for a long weekend. Close to many types of mountain activities, the house is a good base for excursions and adventures, offering a place to regroup.
While attractive, the modern style furniture offers no place to recline or lounge. The short seat depth of the couch, and small sized chairs are not suited to taller people, and they are quite stiff, so people with any joint stiffness or pain may not find a comfortable seat. There are stairs, everywhere. Getting in to the house requires a flight of stairs, going up to the bedroom is a flight of stairs, going down to the garage is a flight of stairs. If you wish to soak in the hot tub after a hike, up stairs to get in, down stairs to put gear in garage, upstairs then around and upstairs to shower off and grab swim trunks, downstairs and out to hot tub, then back in, and upstairs to the only shower.
All that being said, this little house is very nice, and is in a fantastic location.
While I had no cell reception at the house, there is very good wifi and high speed internet.
