Wonderful lakeside retreat!

  • 5 of 5
My company and I enjoyed a quiet, lovely and comfortable week on Champlain at this lovely home. It's new and airy, having all the comforts of home. We enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient to travel, as well as local sights. Birding was also excellent. We would stay again!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
An excellent quiet and secluded vacation stay right on the lake. We brought kayaks and there was great paddling along with families of turtles in the water and on the rocks, and a bald eagle hovering above. The BBQ was nice to have to cook dinner outside, and then have smores at the fire pit. Very close to the mountain attractions, Burlington and Montreal.
The house was well equipped, the only things I missed having was a larger table and/or coffee table to sit around eat, play games, do puzzles (from the great selection of games) and a radio to have on at the same time. This is only a suggestion as the house was still great without it, but one radio would work great with the awesome house acoustics. Thanks!

Owner's Response: Hi Marc
Thank you very much for your nice review of our property and we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. I think your idea of adding a radio is great! I think I will consider adding one of those radios that you can plug a phone into so that people could use their own music on it too.
I hope you enjoy your fall, and that you might consider another visit again next year!
Thanks again,
Kris Irish

Beautiful camp, lots to do and view is amazing!

  • 5 of 5
Thank you so much Irish Family. We had a wonderful time. The camp was fully equipped, open and spacious. The large windows provided an amazing view and plenty of breeze. We swam, fished, kayaked, walked, had several camp fires and even played games and worked on a puzzled the day it rained.

It was just what we were looking for as a family get together before our son heads off to college. We will have some great memories from the week and I am certain we will rent again in the future.

The house was as pictured in the ad. It was clean and well maintained. It had everything one needed. It was beautiful. The fishing was great. My grandchildren, all four of them, ages 18-22 had a wonderful time. Sitting outside by the water watching the sunset was great. We would do it again.

Great stay for my daughters college graduation.

  • 5 of 5
We had a fantastic stay at this beutiful cottage on the water. Kristin was always in contact with us with answers to any questions. The cottage slept 4 adults and 1 child very comfortably. Even my mother came along for the trip and absolutely loved it. The cottage is very clean and very well kept. After the graduation it was very nice to come back to the house and relax. we had a cookout, lit the outdoor fire pit and even used the row boat to do a little fishing. Which was great. We had heard some complaints about the well water and a possible smell. We did bring our own water as recomended by Kristin (which we would had anyway) But Honestly we did not even notice any smell. Everything was there for us to use, it could use a few more plates so you dont have to run the dishwasher as much but that certainly would not keep us from going back. We have even expressed interest if there is a cancellation this summer. If early spring was this good, the summer has got to be even better. The cottage is about 30 min north of UVM and St Mikes but well worth the little extra drive if you want to stay right on a very private lake front property. We would definetly recomend this property to a friend or relative.

Owner's Response: Larry,
I am so happy that you had such a wonderful time at our lakefront property! We enjoyed reading all of the nice things you had to say both here and in our house guest book! What a great tip about the plates- hadn't really given that much thought and easy to add a few more. More and more people tell us that the water is not an issue, I guess I am very fussy and like to give people a "heads up" to bring drinking water. We sure do hope you will come for another stay and I will definately keep you on our cancelation list!
Thanks again Larry!

Lake house in St. Albans

  • 5 of 5
With this being my first time in Vermont, the home and view were spectacular. You cannot beat the views of the lake out of every window. The home looks and feels brand new and was great to stay in. The house was nicely decorated and the master bedroom was great with your own private bath. Second full bath was right next to the downstairs bedrooms. It was just my wife and two dogs, but plenty of room for more guests, with two bedrooms and a futon. THe house was very clean and included a washer and dryer. The privacy was great as well. You are on a private road with maybe 4 other cottages on the road. A little spooky being that we were the only ones staying on the road for the weekend. But very private. Since your right on the water, they provide a boat with oars as well as lifejackets which is a plus. One less thing to bring. At night, they have a fire pit with plenty of wood and several chairs and a picnic table. The night skies are wonderful too I believe they are new at renting out their home, but they really have thought of everything that you need. They provide all the kitchen essentials, although they did not have spices except for salt and pepper. They did explain their water situation, which was no big deal, so just bring plenty of bottled water. One thing that they could use is some curtains for privacy. I know being on the lake the last thing you want is a blocked view but, at night and at the location of the property, you never knew who could be looking at you. They also have a grill but do not plan to grill at night unless you have a flashlight. They outdoor light does not shine bright enough to where the grill is located. Not a big deal at all, but would need a flashlight. They have direct tv and wifi as well. The tv was hard to watch because of the proximity to the fireplace. It does hang a bit high so your neck might ache after a while. Not a big deal again, but since it looks new just throwing out a suggestion. The house is a bit of a drive to Burlington and all the restaurants and shops. Usually took about 40 minutes, so keep that in mind. The town of St. Albans looks nice as well, but Burlington has much more to offer. Also was a little dissapointed that we could not get a discount on our first night since we did not arrive until midnight. Was charge a full night stay. All in all though, the house and location was absolutely fantastic and really enjoyed our visit. Certainly a home to consider. Thanks for the stay..

Owner's Response: Justin,
We are so glad that you and your wife enjoyed our property so much! We really appreciate your feedback on the grill - I honestly had not given any thought about the lighting out there this time of year! Moving the grill closer is an easy fix and we are glad you brought it to our attention. We have mixed reviews on the idea of shades - I'm sure that we can come up with a solution that would work for both those that enjoy the unobstructed view and those that wish to have nighttime privacy - again thanks for your feedback! Please let us know when you would like to visit again - you are always welcome and thank you again for your stay with us!
