Overview

Alma Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Log Cabin near Breckenridge Resort, Keystone, and A-Basin Ski Resorts

Pinecone Mountain Cabin is located between Fairplay and Alma just South of Breckenridge. The home is only 20 minutes from World-Class Skiing in Breckenridge. It is in the heart of the South Central Colorado Rocky Mountains and has almost every outdoor activity imaginable to offer to it's visitors.

This spectacular 3 bedroom/3 bath full Log Home has all the amenities you can imagine. It has the charm of a mountain log home and the luxury of a villa. The home is tastefully and luxuriously decorated in mountain decor. All of the rooms have custom log furniture and decorations. It is located on a secluded 10 acre property that is densely wooded with Pine, Spruce, and Aspen. The home also has mountain views from the large deck, living room and loft. The ceilings are high and vaulted with full logs and chinking visible throughout the home both inside and out.

There are 3 large bedrooms. One bedroom is located on each of the three levels. The private upper level master suite has a king size bed and attached bath with beautiful log furniture. There is a private deck off of this bedroom where you can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the mountain wildlife. There is a flat screen TV to enjoy at night in the bedroom. The upper level also has a huge loft with circular cozy leather sofas to enjoy the beautiful mountain views. There is a large flat screen TV with satellite TV which has all of your favorite shows.

On the main level there is a second bedroom with a queen bed and also has custom log furniture. The bath is located right across the hallway for this bedroom. This level also has the luxurious kitchen, dining room, and family room. The kitchen has marble counter tops, stainless appliances and all the amenities a chef might want. The dining room has a gorgeous wood table which also has two leaves to seat a maximum of 12 people. The large family room has floor-to-ceiling windows with a cozy wood-burning fireplace. The seating is all comfortable leather furniture. It is open to the kitchen and dining room. There is a door opening to the expansive deck which has a new gas grill and a brand new Wind River Therapeutic hot tub. It is on the deck with fabulous views.

The third and lower level has a huge game room with a flat screen television, Ping-Pong and lots of fun games for the entire family. There is a third bedroom on this level with a luxurious queen size bed. There is a bunk bed (both twin beds) in the game room as well as a sleeper sofa. Both kids and adults will love this level for family fun! There is a door which opens to the tiered steps leading out the warm and welcoming fire pit and outdoor gathering area.

The outdoor setting for this home is just gorgeous. There are tiered steps leading down from the deck or lower level to a gathering area which has comfortable wood deck chairs surrounding a fire pit where you and your family can enjoy a warm summer fire and toast marshmallows. The brave can bundle up and build a fire and watch it snow in the winter (my favorite thing to do). Whatever season you choose to vacation, this home will offer you comfort, luxury and memories that will last a lifetime.

This home is only 25 minutes from the 5 star ski resort of Breckenridge. It has world-class skiing and boarding. There is also snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice skating, alpine tubing, and much more. Keystone and A-basin are also only a short drive from the home and offer additional world-class skiing. Pinecond Mountain Cabin is very close to many of the 14'ers which so many people come to Colorado to climb. Whether you are a climber or casual hiker, the area has beautiful trails to enjoy right from the property. If you are not into hiking, there are always horses to ride, white-water to conquer on a raft, snow shoe trails, cross country skiing, and many many other activities to challenge each and every person. If you are just into beautiful drives, there are many that we can recommend with old mines and pioneer towns to explore. There is fabulous outlet mall shopping in nearby Silverthorne where you can shop and pick up any supplies and clothing that you need for your adventures. It is just an awesome are to stay. You will never be bored but you can choose to just sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife. There is no hustle and bustle and absolutely NO traffic and traffic noise. The only sounds you will hear are from wildlife and the laughter you will hear from your happy family. Enjoy!!

Great family getaway

  • 5 of 5
My family had a blast for a week long vacation. We went down the street to Mosquito pass and drove up the 4 wheel path. My teen age boys loved the hot tub and the fire pit! We would love to come back next summer!

A beautiful mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5
We recently spent five nights staying in this stunning mountain home. It's not a rustic log cabin by any means, but a gorgeous, new, beautifully appointed home. The furnishings and bedding are first class and the entire home had everything you would need for a stay. The owners thought of everything, even shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the three full bathrooms. There is a king in the master suite and the beds are all handmade of local timber and works of art. Everything you need in a kitchen is there, and the spice cabinet would satisfy any gourmet cook. Coming from a big city in the Midwest, the pine trees, pine fragrance, mountains and wildlife were feasts for the senses.
The deck includes a gas grill and a new hot tub which we enjoyed and also a fire pit with seating in the back of the home. A fireplace in the living room was an added bonus for colder weather. Firewood is stacked on the deck for you to use. We enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning while feeding the birds, chipmunks and squirrels.
During our stay we visited Buena Vista for successful fly fishing, visited nearby Breckenridge for a day of shopping and dining out, and enjoyed the South Park City museum in Fairplay, just a few miles away. Heather, at the South Park Saloon in Alma, took great care of us each time we dined there. The gold and silver mining history of the area is preserved with old structures still standing, which we found so interesting and were grateful that Colorado had the foresight to maintain this historical significance.
This home is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and truly a home away from home in a sought after location in Colorado. It's quiet and secluded, but still a short drive to so many activities and outdoor adventures. We can't wait to return. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Cabin was ok but...............

  • 3 of 5
The cabin was clean, some of the things I didn't like are more of a personal preference than anything else. 1st there was not a king size bed in master bedroom, unfortunately I would of liked to sit on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee and look at the mountains, but the only thing we saw was the pines. The deck off the bedroom had somewhat of a view but not of the mountain range. The road off of 9 to our cabin must of been just graded because it was very bumpy and when we got to the cabin after grocery shopping we didn't have to scramble our eggs! If no view of the mountain range, bumpy roads and a place off the beaten path doesn't bother you, then this is a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: Gabbie,

Thanks for taking the time to review our cabin. Since your stay, we have put a brand new log King bed in the master bedroom. This was planned months in advance, but we were waiting for the custom log bed frame to be completed. I must say the wait was worth it. New King bed is very comfortable and beautiful. There is now a log King bed in Master, Queen log beds in both main level and lower level bedrooms. The view off the master bedroom deck is primarily to the south. You are correct, this view is through a thick pine and Aspen forest and very private. We purchased the cabin in August of 2013 and are slowly clearing some pines on main deck side of cabin, north side, that will offer even better views of the two 14,000' peaks we can see from our cabin. We want to do this minor clearing carefully so that our very secluded and private lot remains secluded and private, but with a couple nice clearings to view these awesome peaks. This clearing will be completed this fall. Finally, you are also correct, the road into our cabin is a dirt, mountain road, but maintained on a regular basis. Most roads off the main highway in this area are dirt and probably will remain such for quite some time. This keeps traffic away and does not scare away the fabulous wildlife we are so fortunate to enjoy on a regular basis such as moose, elk, mule deer, fox and more. Stop back next summer and enjoy the changes we will continue to make to our beautiful cabin. Cheers!

Amazing serene mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5
This cabin is absolutely amazing! My girlfriend and I were looking to escape for a weekend and decided to book Pinecone Mountain Cabin. We couldn't be happier with our decision, the cabin in cozy, well decorated, and incredibly clean! We arrived when the weather was about 50 degrees and sunny. After getting situated we decided to explore the property where there was plenty of animal life and birds to observe. There is a fox that we ran into a few times, really cool! For dinner we headed into downtown Alma and grabbed some local food at the South Park Saloon, great pizza! That evening as the temperature dropped we took to the relaxing hot tub and enjoyed the peace and quiet of mountain life.

We woke up on day 2 to 5 inches of fresh snow and much colder temperatures. We sat down by the wood burning fire place with a cup of coffee and enjoyed the great views from inside the cabin, there are plenty of windows throughout the 3 floors. During the rest of the day we played ping pong in the lower level, enjoyed the game table upstairs and went in the hot tub once again as the snow fell around us. What a perfect cabin, we will be going back this summer without a doubt. You can tell the owners really care for this property, best I've been to in the Rockies!

Beautiful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5
Great cabin! We wanted a secluded log cabin and you delivered! We've never seen so many different birds after figuring out they liked bread. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. Alma is a really cute little town. South Park Saloon has great food and drink. Al-Mart is an authentic general store and came in very handy for a few things we forgot. Thanks for sharing!

Better than expected! Finally!!!

  • 5 of 5
We recently stayed in Pine Cone Mountain Cabin. We skied Breckenridge 3 days and we're wonderfully surprised at the easy, short drive from cabin to Breck.....about 25 minutes max. Property Manager told us the drive was that short, but you never know. Beautiful drive over Hoosier Pass.....not really sure why it's called a "pass". The cabin was very secluded and quiet. Great hot tub on deck and kitchen was totally stocked with everything we needed. Clean and cozy....great place. We burned our more than fair share of firewood in wood fireplace each night...really nice. We'll be back during summer months to use the fire pit behind cabin. Thanks for sharing this great place!

Almost every outdoor activity you can think of is within 15 minutes of the home. You can even hike on the 10 acre property which backs up to several recreation areas and National Forests. There are old mines and mining towns to explore and beautiful 4-wheel drive trips right by the home. You will absolutely love this home in any season you choose to visit. The road is county maintained and the driveway is plowed regularly by a private snow plow company. It is very very accessible year-round.
