Or go south towards Hilo and the Volcano, and enjoy the scenic drive to South Point and Green Sand Beach. Or just stay at home and enjoy the beach, reading a great book, or relaxing to the sounds and sights of nature. Whatever each day brings, you can be sure, you'll be enjoying the best of what life offers.
I have been coming to Kona, HI for 10 years. It's my home away from home. And the most amazing place I've been. When I am in Hawaii I'm at peace. It's a place were your spirit can renew.
Really enjoyed the location. Beautiful street. Close to downtown shops and restaurants and great snorkling beach. Didn't have to drive far to do everything we wanted. One downside internet did not work while we were there. Overall would stay again.
Enjoyed our two weeks on Leilani St. and Kona. House and grounds were lovely. It was also very accessible to downtown Kona and the beaches. We enjoyed the evening sunsets and nightly meals overlooking the Pacific....and the star filled nights. Bedrooms, kitchen and living area were lovely and spacious. We made use of the walking trail just a few blocks away. Grace was very accommodating in meeting a last minute request which made our stay even more perfect. My grandson is already asking about next year.
We had a great time on our first ever visit to the Big Island. The house is set above a quiet street with a perfect sunset view every night. We can also recommend Kona for sunny climate - we did not have a single day of rain staying there in December (which is supposed to be a rainy time in Hawaii). The house is large, modern, well equipped with comfortable beds, full kitchen and high quality linens. There is a full set of beach chairs and umbrellas for 6 people. The best feature of the house is the outdoor sitting area off the living room - perfect to sip some wine and enjoy the ocean sunset view. We made a good use of the walking/running trail that starts 2 blocks from the house. Very comfortable and memorable stay.
We really enjoyed our short stay at Grace's place in Kona.The house is spacious and comfortable and the view of the ocean is beautiful. It is well-located for making trips to nearby beaches and hiking, as well as to the shops and eateries in town. There is a fully equipped kitchen and laundry and everything was nice and clean. This home is wheelchair accessible too. We didn't get to meet Grace but communication via phone and email was very easy. She made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We can't wait to go back. Mahalo Grace!
The house was perfect with a good location and beutiful rooms. evertything worked and was nice and clean.
Very modern, well maintained, and well-appointed home in a quiet neighborhood of Kailua-Kona. The house itself is very open and comfortable. The furnishings are high-end, but simple and with clean, efficient lines reminiscent of high-end business hotels (Westin, W, etc.). Each bedroom has an adjoining bathroom, making it a great accommodation for multliple couples, or families with teens. The host has been very thoughtful in the appointments and amenities provided, including beach-going equipment, high-capacity washer/dryer, flat-screens in every bedroom, and full kitchen equipment (including dishwasher). Kitchen pantry supplies (spices, flour, sugar, etc.) are sparse (only basic spices) as is appropriate for maintaining food freshness in the climate.
This location is ideal, presuming you have a car for local transportation. It is at an elevation that affords cool breezes as night and provides convenient access to both the busy tourist-oriented section of town, as well as the more "up country" parts of the western Hawaii (Captain Cook, Holualoa, etc).

With a view of the ocean, the home is minutes away from numerous beaches, golf courses, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, surfing, sailing, biking and kayaking.
