We had a lovely stay in this wonderful house. It was great to have a pool so that we could swim every day, the children (7 & 10) made good use of it.. There was everything in the house which we needed. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room and bedrooms are all very comfortable. Everything was clean. Wifi and mobile reception were good, essential for us as we had left a business behind and needed to be available.
We hired a car from the airport which enabled us to explore the island and walk some of the levadas. There were limited places to eat within walking distance so we were glad of the car. There are some lovely places to eat within a short drive though. The roads in Madeira are very good and driving is easy.
Although in a quiet area on the outskirts of the village with views over the village, the house is right by the side of the road.
We even had the pleasure of seeing a harvest festival for the local vegetable farmers in the village - it was amazing.
In our 2 weeks we only had 2 concerns: when the electricity goes off you cannot get the car out through the electric gates !! I would advise if you have an early flight home that you leave the car in the road. Ezekiel is very helpful but not available at all times.
The pool is very close to the house and I would have great concerns for small children who cannot swim. The garden is also very small and around the pool, not enough room for a game of ball without it landing in the next garden.
Despite these things we had a lovely holiday and look forward to returning in the future.
