Upcountry Maui Ranch Home Offers Serenity Yet Close To All Maui Has To Offer

Maui Ranch is a unique and rarely seen Hawaiian country estate in Upcountry Makawao, Olinda, Maui. This wonderful home is located a few miles above the historic town of Makawao. The area is tranquil encompassing the beauty of nature. The 2000 Square foot restored historic home is at a perfect elevation. The climate is temperate with temperature usually in the 80's/70's year round. In the eve's in winter it get's down to 60's/50's which is perfect fireplace weather! This is ideal climate for a relaxing sojourn, a perfect romantic retreat, a serene space for writing, meditation, and artistic endeavors. It also lends itself to a large fun family holiday.

The location is up a meandering country road that captures the fragrance of eucalyptus that line the road. Here you will experience the real upcountry Maui away from the bustle of the tourist scene. This quaint and private retreat is only 15 minutes to restaurants, shops, pubs, galleries, yoga and massage spa, and a general store.

This private country estate begins down the quaint driveway as you breath in the scent of fresh clean air. Serenity and peace will engulf you as you approach the manicured lawns and organic orchard of lemons, plums, macadamia nut, peaches and Chinese cherry. Birds of Paradise and a few sentinels of Koa, redwood, and pine can be found scattered around the 2000 square feet of tastefully restored 1940’s Hawaiian Ranch style home.

At night the sky fills with an abundance of twinkling stars. Sometimes you might get lucky and see a falling star or moonbow.

The charming living room has new wood floors an inviting lava rock fireplace. The many large windows offer an airy feel. This living room is decorated with art from local artists. There is an air of welcoming charm. The essence is a casual feel of relaxation with a touch of elegance.

Truth be known, when folks visit, they do not want to leave. The energy here at Maui Ranch is very positive and relaxing on the soul.

The living room encompasses a dinning area that seats 4 and 2 additional folding chairs are available to seat 6.

There is also a sleeping alcove with futon. A closet houses a TV and many DVD's.

The kitchen is lovely, equipped for 6, and adequate for cooking.

The bathroom off the living room has terracotta tile with a Japanese Style shower with sunken tub.

The master bedroom has big views of the gardens and ocean in the distance. Pillows, mattress, bedding are all new. Sheets are 100% cotton and of good quality. The master bedroom features new wood floor and a queen bed.The romantic and cozy stone fireplace adds to the charm and ambiance of this large master room. Logs in the wood shed and easy fire starter log pieces are provided for your use during your stay. The master bath has a new travertine stone floor. The French doors leading out to the back lanai/deck to the hot tub and fire pit is a convenient passage. To top it all off is a large Sauna cottage. Delightful!

The washer and dryer tucked away in the master bathroom alcove is also a great convenience.

The 2nd bedroom has a full size bed and a new wood floor.

Though we are in a very private location, we do like to respect our distant neighbors. We turn music on low after 9pm. However, laughter and merriment is encouraged to continue until the wee hours. :)

On our nearby 2 acres are some cute goats and chickens that you are welcome to pet. (No Roosters)

Perfect for relaxing, quality time, and a Unique Experience on Maui!

We live on Oahu and wanted to go to Maui with my toddler son, husband, and parents visiting from the mainland. Staying at Neesa's place was the perfect place to relax and have quality time with family, and it was truly a wonderful unique experience. The location is lovely at a cool elevation on the slopes of Haleakala on a peaceful secluded farm. The master bedroom, kitchen, and back deck with outdoor eating area all had sweeping views down to the ocean. In the mornings, we enjoyed strolling around the gorgeous farm with our son picking fruit from the trees, feeding grass to the goats, and visiting the chickens. In the evenings, we enjoyed hanging out by the fire place at night and soaking in the hot tub. Neesa was a gracious and friendly host, always responsive, accommodating and available, if we had a question. She left several special treats for us, including stunning flowers with birds of paradise and protea right from the farm, eggs from her healthy happy chickens, and plenty of bars of luxurious, local, hand-made, goat milk soap. We would highly recommend staying at Neesa's!

Exceptional Maui Holiday in this Wonderful Home and Property

At first we were hesitant to book a holiday home for our visiting family in the upcountry Maui area. However, we are SO HAPPY we did and that we chose Maui Ranch! Our family experienced the Maui that upcountry residents live daily. At Maui Ranch you will be greeted by fantastic, caring, knowledgeable hosts. Our welcome gift was fantastic but I do want to spoil the gift surprises! The home is rustically elegant, clean, well equipped, and has a very welcoming vibe. We really like the artwork and fine art photos. The grounds are well kept, very serene, and private. We picked lemons for lemonade and Margaritas. Yummy! The place breaths relaxation. We loved the backyard fire pit and roasting marshmallows with our family. We enjoy cooking and the kitchen was great to get creative with culinary fare. Everyone went out to eat in nearby Makawao, Kula, and Paia, but our best dinners were at this great home. We hiked at the nearby forest and ventured to the Piiholo Zip Line just minutes away. Awesome! We went windsurfing in Paia and discovered Baby Beach in "Sprecks" which was everyone really enjoyed as it was like a swimming pool. The price was really good for home this nice. The nights were a bit chilly and we personally loved this fact. The bedding was warm, fresh, clean and super nice. The sauna was perfect after windsurfing. There were so many little thoughtful details that really made this an exceptional place to stay. Our hosts only vacation rental their home on occasion, so hopefully you can get a booking and experience this authentic Maui style. We HIGHLY recommend Maui Ranch.
