Ron and Francisca Moody have ties to Coronado going back 60 years. The family purchased 120 Acacia Way new, and it's here where they’ve always returned. The home is freshly remodeled and has never been rented. Business owners in the property services industry, Francisca of late has been honing her skills on Apple related technology while continuing to create sumptuous Latin fusion recipes for family and friends which Ron enjoys as much as his fascination with 2 am writing binges while freelancing his marketing and writing skills to NPO’s and businesses, as has been the case for the past 15 years. Married 20 years this coming August, they reside in Imperial Beach, Coronado's sister city to the south. At the mid “50” level, they’ve witnessed two children move on as daughter Dixie and son-in–law Tony and family settle into a new life in Las Vegas, NV, having secured jobs with Costco Corporation, and son Francisco and his wife Rita and family live in the nearby area. As for the owners of this dream vacation home, what is THEIR dream vacation spot? Lake Tahoe. The clean air, magnificent vistas, and inspiring spaces, with a deer population that easily outnumbers people, shakes down to create their perfect vacation. Ron's FIRST EVER rainbow trout taken on a lure this past September at beautiful Donner Lake was, before being released unharmed officially confirmed to be at least seven and-a-half inches long if it was an inch. As business owners, a mutual love of the chase propels these two roadies forward who have (almost) as much fun on the trip up and back as they do on arrival. And what is the single greatest attribute that stands out to them about Lake Tahoe at 6500’? It's the same one that stands out about Coronado at sea level-the friendly, caring folks.

Great locations make memorable vacations. It starts with a Country Club feel amid attractive yet unpretentious, impeccably maintained residences. You'll take note of the absence of automobile traffic, the noise of industry, or distractions of any kind, other than birds, bikes, or your own thoughts. This area of Country Club has unobstructed (no rock barrier) access to North Beach area allowing the prevailing winds to blow directly through the neighborhood providing residences with temperate breezes and the soothing sounds of the breakers at night. This area embodies the marine heritage Coronado is famous for. The walk from our front door to the beach takes you by eight homes on tree lined, winding streets nearly devoid of traffic and completely devoid of road noise. In the interest of full disclosure, we share a common border with NASNI - Naval air station North Island-and will get the (infrequent) F18 or variety thereof on approach for a landing on week day afternoons. We consider it the sound of freedom and enjoy the show. We take walks daily and as there is virtually no cross traffic anywhere in the Country Club area, the feeling of safety and tranquility pervades most activities one would engage in any time of day or night. The walk down Ocean Blvd to the Hotel Del takes 20 minutes and the return is often through town via any number of routes, perhaps stopping in for a Starbucks or Bruegels. Life here is invigorating. Again, the privacy and exclusivity living on Acacia Way affords creates a quality hard to quantify, but palpable just the same. We have strived to create an ambiance in our home that equals the beauty surrounding us, beginning with a spacious look and feel that surrounds our guest's with aesthetic appeal and comfort while respecting their need for privacy with a sense of ownership. The art is a combination of oils and water colors, originals and prints showcasing the work of local artists as well as those with a wider following.

Relying on the inspiration of non-traditional, esthetically appealing design, furnishings, and artwork to influence our home's decor, we've strived for elegance to pamper, familiarity to comfort, and comfort to enhance the experience of spending time in this exclusive yet understated (we DO HAVE OUR HOMES, mind you), home and neighborhood where privacy is sacrosanct, age respected, families honored, and courtesy and camaraderie noted, expected, and appreciated. Our hope is that your stay is exceptional. All of the five beds: Cal King, platform queen, 3 twins) supports a BRAND NEW Sealy Concord plush pillow top mattress graced with quality pillows and high thread count linens, comforters and duvets. The kitchen is fully equipped with a GE oven and radiant stove top, Maytag dishwasher and all expected updated conveniences including a waffle maker and drawer organizers containing new utensils and plenty of storage above and below. The kitchen conveniently opens to the living room and to the patio through the adjoining den, making indoor and outdoor serving a breeze. In the back, a deck leads up to an attractive Jacuzzi that you and a couple of your mates can easily find space in with room to stretch. This is a private location, with like-minded, conscientious neighbors deserving of and expecting reciprocity. There is a side yard (encouraged) for post beach access. Data and media service with ATT U-verse. We offer secure WIFI w/13 mb download speeds, a land line w/ local & long distance calling (fax available), 2 TV’s-42” & 20” & 2 DVR’S. A stereo system rounds up the technology. Other conveniences to enhance your stay include a garage for one large vehicle and ample off (or on) street parking. (the sweeper comes EARLY Wednesday A.M.) A Professional and courteous landscape service comes bi-weekly. We live nearby and respond to concerns or questions in a timely manner.

When it's time to enjoy the finer things in life, Coronado is a gastronome of exciting eateries and watering holes which includes of course, the personal preference of Presidents, Princes, Stars, and Starlets-The Hotel Del Coronado. A full service resort-the restaurants, saunas, shops, and triple scoops with handmade chocolate- provide an ambiance that makes this a perfect place to explore and enjoy. Back in the village, the unflappable bundles of energy have at their beck and call a variety of available parks and open spaces to swing up, slide down and tear up the turf in including Dog Beach-where those in the know go for some down time social interaction between two and four legged family members. At the corner of sixth and Orange, The Coronado Public Library is a source of local pride, housing permanent and revolving displays of local culture and offering programs, concerts, round tables, as part of a year round schedule, that makes this one of our city's greatest assets, not to mention the expansive selection of reading, viewing, audio, reference, and research material housed in this architecturally delightful space. When love is in the air, there's a number of well maintained public tennis courts to consummate the affair and don't miss our must see aquatic center-home of 'h2O player lives here'. When the urge to sit hits, head over to the Village Theater and get lost in the ambiance of this shrine to historical deco restoration as you catch a trendy matinee any time of day. For the inspired, Coronado has eclectic art galleries from one end of town to the other. We're artsy. On weekends, 'Art in the Park' previews artists from around the county who set up shop at Spreckels Park (across from Library) intent on sending you home with some of their finest work. Coronado, with all it's local attractions has never been considered a touristy town. To coin some adjectives, the vibe is laid back, energetic, intellectual, artistic, wild, creative, fun, entrepreneurial, funky, and free. It is a village, an island, a town, a city and a community. It is a town to enjoy and for those in the know, a town to give back to. But a 'tour' of our Island would not be complete without mention of our history that had its modern day beginnings in the 1880's with an epic vision bold enough to make any entrepreneur tremble with excitement, of a hotel. Today it remains as one of the oldest, grandest and most architecturally significant structures in the nation-The Hotel Del Coronado. What began as a vision for a city to pay for a hotel, attracted some of the most dynamic and creative architects of the time and the city of Coronado was born. Interspersed throughout the Island you'll find Arts and Craft, Tudor, Revival, modern, deco, and all things in between. But the cornerstone of our community remains a people influenced by the past, living, working, playing, giving, and caring always looking ahead yet never too busy to point out the best in each other.
