The Sequoia House
Our sister property is located less than 2 miles away. House is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house complete with a full kitchen, dining room and living room. The Sequoia House rents for $275 per night.
It is a private mountain retreat, nestled in the High Sierra Mountains in the beautiful valley of Three Rivers. Located minutes from Lake Kaweah, just a few miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. Enjoy life and relax in this serene getaway with views galore.
This is where I raised my family. My children grew up exploring the mountain trails and creating new trails of their own. They learned to swim and fish in this river. They would build forts and camp near the river in their tents. They still tell stories of the campfires and s'mores they enjoyed for so many years. This is where my children learned to ride their horses, where they learned responsibility and creativity. Now our children bring our grandchildren here to create those same memories for them. We are so proud to have three generations enjoying this beautiful ranch on the river.
My husband is a hard worker who is a long time member of Cowboy Culture Club. We are both board members the Backcountry Horseman's of California. The BCHC is a non-profit organization made up of individuals who are dedicated to conserving backcountry wilderness and protecting stock users' historic use of wilderness trails and forage. We are dedicated to keeping all public lands open to the public. We proudly sit on thier board of directors.
My husband loves to saddle up his horses and pack his mules to take supplies to the stations deep in the forest. We spend a lot of our time volunteering to help clean up and improve our local lands and ranches. We want to make sure our children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors are able to enjoy nature the way we have.
David & Juli Beale-Van purchased this cottage in 1984
Our property is unique in many ways. We are centrally located between Lake Kaweah and Sequoia National Park. Lake Kaweah is 1.2 miles SW of our property. Here you can enjoy many water sports and family activities. The marina offers house boat and water bike rentals. Just a few miles NE of our property you are at the entrance of the amazing Sequoia National Park. Sequoia is one of California's most spectacular treasures. Nowhere else is the Sierra so high. Nowhere else are the canyons so rugged and deep. And nowhere else does the Sierra rise so steeply from the west.
Here you'll find giant trees and great canyons. The scale is grand; the park rises from 1,300 feet to 14,494 feet (at the summit of Mt. Whitney, highest point in the lower 48 states). Speaking of superlatives, here you’ll also find the largest tree on the planet (the epic General Sherman Tree), by some measures the country's deepest canyon (Kings Canyon), and the second-largest road-free wilderness area in the United States. And under it all, hundreds of marble caves and caverns, many teeming with rare plants and animals.
The bottom-to-tip topography means dramatic changes in scenery, diverse plants and animals, steep roads and trails, and snowmelt-fed rivers racing down from mountain peaks.
Our family favorites at the park include the Crystal Caves and the General Sherman Tree. These are a couple of the 'must see attractions' when you visit.
If golf intrest you, the Three Rivers Golf Course is less than 1 mile NE of us. All of these attractions are located off of Sierra Drive (Hwy 198).
On your way to the park, you can stop at the famous Reimer's Candy & Gifts for some delicious homemade ice cream. Enjoy an elegant dinner at The Gateway Restaurant. They offer great food and friendly service with wonderful views.
Looking for adventure? Try white water rafting or horseback riding. There are many trails for exploring and hiking. There is truly something for everyone here.
Enjoy our country charm in a quite and relaxing small town. We put our heart in our property. Personal touches we feel will make a difference when you're looking to escape the city or explore nature. We love where we live and we hope you do too! Enjoy the fresh mountain air, the tranquil sound of the river water running over the rocks. Take in the breath taking scenery we call home. Create everlasting memories with your family, friends and loved ones. Enjoy a book down on the sandy river beach while the children play in the water. Pack a picnic and have a BBQ. Start a campfire and let the family enjoy toasty s'mores under our illuminating blanket of stars. Let the children day or night camp in their tents on the large lawn area. Play a game of catch or throw a football. There are so many things to do and see while you are here. Let this be your home away from home.
My husband and I had all we could take of our stressful lives. We decided to just pack a bag and leave. While he drove north I was on the internet trying to find a destination. I found this property#486843. We called the owners and it was settled it was our destination. It was the best weekend ever and we had not taken months to plan it as we usually do. The river, campfires, grounds and mountain views in all directions were absolutely breath taking. The room was very romantic. Juli had left us some special treats. We really appreciated that. We stayed 2 days, felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. We left feeling like family on first name basis with the owners. We took plenty of brochures to pass out to all our friends and family so they could share our experience. Our next trip will be with our son and grandchildren to their gorgeous Sequoia house. It is magnificent!
Took a trip up north, wanted to see the mountains. A tranquil getaway to sights that should not go unseen….THE SEQOUIA NATIONAL PARK, it's trees, trails and tributes to natural history is awesome and picturesque. What made our excursion all the more better was the introduction to Juli and David, the proprietors of this place. At first glance of their
cottages and main house we knew immediately it was where we would be staying. The accommodations, hospitality, the comforts of home and the location, location, location was more than we ever expected….not to mention the price was right too! We are city folk and had the time of our life for two short days, thanks to Juli and can't wait till we return again!
What a beautiful riverfront vacation property. Close to the park but it would be hard to leave this property. Calming and comfy...love this place. Owner great.
I had been researching the national parks in California and decided that I wanted to take my family to the Sequoia National Park. We live in Northern California and haven't explored much of the central mountain ranges. My husband and son love camping, however, I enjoy a nice warm shower and a comfortable bed to sleep in! We decided to compromise. I discovered that we could rent vacation cottages near the park entrance. This particular property offered all of the conveniences of home, with the added bonus of private river and camping area for the boys. This was definitely a win win in my book. When we arrived to the property, we were pleasantly surprised. The photos on the site do not do justice! Yes, they are accurate, but you have to step out of the car to inhale the fresh mountain air and hear the birds singing to really get the full effect. My son immediately felt right at home. He and my husband walked down the path behind the cottage to examine the river. My son didn't get out of the water until dinner was ready, about 4 hours later! I love cooking, so the full kitchen allowed my to prepare some of my favorite meals indoors while the boys played outside. They had pitched a small tent by the water that my son declared his "cave". They even kicked around a soccer ball in the open lawn area, a luxury we do not have at home since we live in the city. I was able to enjoy a new book while relaxing in my lawn chair at the base of the river. There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of the water running over the rocks under the shade of a large tree. I felt as though I was at my own secluded spa. We did manage to break away from the cottage to visit the local attractions. Juli had made several great recommendations for our stay. We spent a day driving through the park. I was amazed to see the General Sherman tree up close with my own eyes. We took a tour through the Crystal Caves and also hiked up Morro Rock. We also stopped at Reimer's for ice cream on the way back. With all of this to see, I kept reminding my son that was the reason for trip, but he was so eager to get back to the river at his "new house"! The owners of the property made us feel like this was our home. They gave us lots of information about Three Rivers and the local businesses. Most importantly, they have a way of connecting with you that makes you feel as though you've known them your entire life. We enjoyed our vaction so much, we have already made plans to come back next year!
Our family rented the whole property for a family reunion. We were allowed to put tents down at the river area. It is a very large park like flat grass area with a sandy beach on the river. It is so beautiful there. It is one of those moments that takes your breath away. We swam, children played in the sand, barbequed and sat around the campfire at night. The night skies were as beautiful as Juli had told us they were and then some. Mr. David was so kind to take time out of his day to give the children and a few adults rides on the horses. We all had a great time and have overwhelmingly agreed that this will be our new site for our yearly family reunions.
My husband and I returned this last weekend to celebate our anniverary. We stayed in the room with that gorgous solid wood bed and jaccuzzi tub for two. The bed made us feel like royalty and the jaccuzzi took all our cares away. When we arrived Juli had flowers and a card for us. She always knows how to make you feel welcome with that extra touch of thoughtfullness. We spent our nights on the lounge chairs by the fire at the river, just star gazing,. It was so quiet and peaceful.
Our last trip was so great with family and this one was one of romance. We will still need to return as we have yet to leave the property and go to the Sequoias. The entry gate is just a few minutes away, but we so love being here, that we've not explored beyond the rockwalls and wrought iron gates.
The pictures were good but did not do the property justice. There was so very much more and the grounds so relaxing. The propietors made us feel like family. They were so helpful. Our children could not pull themselves way from the gorgous river area. We bar'qued, had campfires every night and yes the stars felt like you could reach up and touch them. Our cottage very comfortably slept four and was wonderfully decorated. Cheyanne and Bella, two of their horses, were a big hit with the children. Mr. David was so kind as to take them on rides each day. There is a whitewater rafting company that is run off this location as well. We will definately revisit the ranch as we have not stopped talking about our new home away from home!
Beautiful Three Rivers is located at the base of Sequoia National Park just above Lake Kaweah. We are a riverfront property with a blanket of stars above us at night. Boating, hosreback riding, fishing, hiking, Giant Sequoia Trees and the Crystal caves are just a few of the to do's while visiting us. Oops, don't forget to just relax and play in the river by day and sit by a campfire at the river by night.
