Our property is large and roomy. We have a lot of storage space for our guests. Living room, dining room and kitchen have this breathtaking view of the canal with the catamarans, yachts and sailboats passing by. We have a large terrace where you can watch the sun go down! There is an alcove in the hall with two bunk beds for additional guests. There is also a powder room right next to this alcove.
There is always a nice breeze from the ocean circulating in the condominium. Every night, we fall asleep with the sound of the waves clashing on the rocks. Even in July, we never use the air conditioners in our bedrooms but they are available should you feel you need them.
My brother and I and our respective spouse recently bought this property for our families and friends to enjoy. We are from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. (True North!!!) We work very hard all year round namely as, school teacher, plumber, legal assistant and in accounting. We have 5 children amongst our two families. We speak French, English and one of us a little Spanish!!! We are all really trying to learn Spanish as quickly as humanly possible because the people here are so warm and friendly and we are really eager to be able to communicate with them.
Grace Barbiera purchased this condo in 2013
We have visited different parts of the Caribbean but have never felt so strongly about a place.
Puerto Aventuras is a world-class residential community resort located in the heart of the Riviera Maya on the Mexican Caribbean. Here you will find a magical blend of lush tropical beauty with an easygoing yet sophisticated life style.
Puerto Aventuras is a private gated community located 20 minutes south of world famous Playa Del Carmen and 30 minutes north of Tulum the Mayan Ruin site located on the beach where it is known that Mayan Kings vacationed and it is all located in the heart of Mexico's Riviera Maya on the Mexican Caribbean. You will not be disappointed in this beautiful destination.
In Puerto Aventuras you will find so many activities, restaurants and shopping just a short walk from your door. There is a 9-hole golf course. In the middle of it all, you can swim with the dolphins, the rays and the manatees. Restaurants and bars are surrounding the natural habitat of the dolphins so that while you are eating you can watch them play! Many people get around in Puerto Aventuras by golf cart.
We fell in love with the property the minute we walked in. The view of the canal with the boats, the ocean view at the front, in the bedrooms, the ocean breeze throughout the unit, the size of the unit (1800 square feet). The large terrace overlooking the canal. The high ceilings. Marina Del Rey is only a 12-unit building. It has an elevator. The way the unit is built makes it feel more like a home than a condominium. It is a corner unit with back and front balconies. The street is one of the most prestigious streets in PA. It is a dead end street with million dollar houses across the street facing the ocean.
We stayed here with 2 children (ages 5 and 2 1/2) over New Years for a week. Condo had everything you needed, including body boards, beach chairs, coolers etc. Very relaxing and quiet. Nice views overlooking the marina. Easy drive to Tulum and Playa del Carmen and beaches in between. Able to walk 5 minutes to the lagoon which is just great for young children and also has some nice snorkeling. I would recommend a car if exploring outside of Puerto Aventuras.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning next year. Of particular note this condo has the best internet we've had during several stays in Puerto Aventuras. It added a level of comfort as we were able to stay in touch with home , use our Netflicks account etc. The Vonage phone worked like a charm.
The condo was well supplied and we are grateful. Questions we had were promptly answered and the owner was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
The condo was extremely comfortable to live in during our two months stay . So much so that we plan to return next year. It is close to the centro area and yet far enough away that it is quiet . The pool was ideal and the grounds keeper very helpful. The weather was superb and the beaches beautiful.
There were 6 of us. My 2 in-laws, our 2 kids (13 and 15), my wife and I. We never felt stuck. The place is huge. We rented a golf cart and had fun driving around P.A. We went to Tullum (very close by), we went to Akumal, XCaret and Playa del Carmen. In the condo, you will find everything you need. The place is really well stocked more than any other places we've been before. We went swimming in the lagoon (very close by) and saw beautiful big fishes! The view from the terrace is just fantastic. We will definitely go back! Thank you Mallory and Grace!!!
Excellent location in Puerto Aventuras on a mature, quiet street with beautiful vegetation. The view is amazing, overlooking one of the canals leading to the ocean. The condo is huge and clean and has everything you will need for a comfortable vacation. The owner and local representative are very friendly and helpful.
There are two beaches within Puerto Aventuras as well as many other beaches outside the property at various distances. The condo has folding long chairs that you can bring to the beach as well as plenty of towels so you don't have to wash the towels every day.
There are many fun activities to do in the area, including swimming with the dolphins, visiting various cenotes (Kantun-Chi was my favorite), taking a catamaran tour including snorkling, Xel-Ha, XCaret, XPlore (did not actually visit but heard it was fun), Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Akukal beach (giant sea turtles), and many other we didn't have time to do.
There is a supermaket just outside the property and the restaurants in the Puerto Aventuras marina are good and reasonably priced by our standards, though somewhat pricey by Mexican standards. Cheaper food can be found in more local restaurants in Playa del Carmen (20 minute drive). The Chinese fast food in the same complex as the supermarket is cheap and good (as fast food chinese goes).
I would definitely recommend renting a car to get around both inside and outside Puerto Aventuras. It just makes things so much easier. Getting around is very easy as there's only one highway and everything is very well indicated.
Puerto Aventuras is a quiet community for families. There's no night life there. For that you have to go to 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, which is always buzzing.
My wife and I stayed at Grace's condo for 2 weeks in November of 2013,I would recommend this condo to everyone who's looking for a safe, quiet area to relax at. The condo was great, it was accurate in the description, and the pictures we viewed. Puerto Aventuras as far as we are concerned is one of the nicest gated communities we have seen in Mexico. The balcony is situated so you can watch the boats move in the canal, very scenic. The condo is located at a dead end street, very quiet area and yet close to a few restaurants or an afternoon at watching people interact with the dolphins. Dealing with Grace was exceptional, from the time we inquired about the unit, until we made an agreement, she was punctual with her responses, answered all our question's, called us at home and when we arrived at the condo, if there was anything we needed. It was a pleasure doing business with Grace.
We stayed at this condo for a week and were very very impressed with the comfort, and cleanliness of this apartment and the property in general.
The condo is bright and spacious with 2 large bedrooms, each equipped with a full bathroom and independent air conditioning control. There is also an additional alcove with 2 bunk beds for the kids. Mattresses, bedding, and all the furniture are of excellent quality and definitely superior to places visited on prior trips.
The kitchen is fully equipped (beautiful glassware!) so we preferred cooking our meals instead of visiting the numerous restaurants in the vicinity. A large supermarket is at 5 minutes drive.
The huge balcony off the living room and dining room is a prime spot to watch the sunset and the boats returning from sea while having a cocktail.
There are many beaches at walking distance from the apartment and we snorkeled right from the beach. No need to pay for excursions! The complex has a nice pool with a wadding area for children and a covered section with a wet bar!
The grounds are immaculate, a large variety of flowers and plants where we could watch many exotic birds and butterflies, thanks to Lupe the caretaker.
We definitely enjoyed our week at this property and have reserved already to return in spring 2014.
We are surrounded by water and beaches. All beaches are within walking distance. Fatima Bay Beach is within a 10-minute slow walk. On your way there, you get to meet the fishermen, dolphins, manatees, rays. There is also a lagoon less than a 3-minute walk which is perfect for snorkeling! AND, for golf lovers, there is a 9-hole golf course! All of this within walking distance
