Beautiful renovated farmhouse, sleeps 16 with 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms plus 2 additional WCs in fantastic location offering panoramic views, a private swimming pool, securely fenced for the safety of children, with hydro massage corner, large outside eating area with pizza oven and BBQ. Infra Red Sauna large enough for 6. The house which has been recently refurbished (2010) provides a fully equipped kitchen, quality bedding, towels and pool towels also offers a games room ( unheated) with full size pool table and table tennis table. The house is ideal for a group of families holidaying together. Suitable for winter with central heating throughout, 3 solid fuel stoves, underfloor heating to master suite and main bathroom. Ideally located within an immaculately managed vineyard. 5 minutes of numerous bars, restaurants and shopping in Costigliole D'Asti. 15 minutes from historical City of Asti and 25 minutes from the beautiful city of Alba.

The house is equipped with 2 ipod docking stations, 2 hair dryers, a baby stroller, high chair and 2 travel cots. No need to carry any of these items to the house.

The pool is open from May to September. There is an option to heat the pool at an additional Euro 250/week.

Heating is not normally required in July and August, however some guests prefer the extra comfort.

Suitable for winter with central heating throughout, 3 solid fuel stoves, underfloor heating to master suite and main bathroom

Whilst we are in a great location with many restaurants and cafes a short drive away, it is possible to arrange catering at the villa or have our 'pizza team' come to the villa to take all the work out of a pizza evening, leaving you to add your toppings, join in with the pizza baking or simply relax and enjoy.

Winery and food product tours can be arranged and we have a local interpreter that can accompany you on any tours if required.

A gem in the Piedmont hills

This farmhouse is fantastic. Originally we wanted to stay closer to Alba, but we were having trouble finding a large enough villa to accommodate our group. So we took a chance on Casa Balau and could not be any happier. The house is beautifully renovated. Clean and modern, with all the amenities you could want - a beautiful pool (rare for Piedmont), washer/dryer, game room, dry sauna, fully loaded kitchen, outdoor dining area, wood fired over, fast, free Wi-Fi, etc. And the views are breathtaking. The bedrooms are comfortable. There are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (the large master and a large bedroom at the opposite end of the hall). The other four bedrooms share three bathrooms; two of the bedrooms are “adult” the other two are best for kids. There is also a WC on the main floor near the game room. The house location is good, though it is a little tricky to find at first. Use GPS, or pay careful attention to the signage. Costigliole d’Asti is a short drive, but nothing is really walkable, so a car is a must. We had mapped out our own activities, but the local care takers are responsive and friendly (and English speaking), so if you need any help or advice, they are more than happy to assist. The owner is easy to work with, both at booking and during the follow-up. I highly recommend this farmhouse for your next trip to Piedmont!
