Overview

Peachland House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

Centrally located in the Okanagan Valley this unique home was built in 1905 and has just undergone extensive renovations inside and out. Almost all the furniture in the house is new except for the antique's which have been restored. All the appliances, linen, dishes, cooking utensils are also new. Two of the patio's are open and two are under pergola's. The BBQ and dining area are open and have an herb garden next to the cooking area. Each area of the home and yard have been designed to sit and relax, enjoy the scenery and literally smell the roses. Comments have been made that the property is quite 'Victorian'. It definitely makes you feel comfortable and welcome.

There is a cute story that was published in the local paper about the Blind Angler (yes he was a real person), his name was Jack Wilson his wife's name was Ruby and this house was their home. Al purchased the house in 1985 from Ruby and thus the name 'Blind Angler's Cottage'

About Jane LaBounty

Al has lived in Peachland since the mid 60's and I moved here in the early 80's. We met in 1995 and this little house was what ultimately caused us to move in together (actually a funny story). When we moved, we didn't go far, just next door, the adjoining property.

Jane LaBounty purchased this house in 1985

Why Jane LaBounty chose Peachland

The house was purchased because of the convient location just a short walk to down town Peachland with all it's amenities, super lakeview and large lot.

What makes this house unique

Due to the age of the house and it's condition at the time, it had a lot of potential which is evident now. As you walk up to the house there are 3 separate entrances which lead to rooms each having at least 2 entries some 3. You never seem to feel trapped. The Living room, Dining room, Kitchen nook, Sitting room and even the Sunroom to some degree have a different view or prospective of the lake.

Al and I always laughed and told people that that was our 'Happy house' and once being in it they would reply 'ya it does have a comfortable happy feeling'.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Very conveniently located to the center of Peachland. A bit noisy from the road at first, like any other properties on the hill above the road, but then you get used to it. Beautiful house, very cozy. The owner so nice and is extremely accommodating and provides beach towels, chairs plus any other things you forgot home. We asked for a blender and a scale and she gave them to us right away.

Very Quaint!

  • 5 of 5

Jane and Al were excellent hosts. The house is very well equipped with everything you would need and then some. VERY clean and well kept. We had 2 families spread out throughout the house and didn't have a problem being crowded. The outside patio's are amazing along with the herb garden and berry patches. We loved the quaint house and would highly recommend staying there.

Excellent Place for 4-6

  • 5 of 5

I rent this place last minute, and was impressed by it. Its an old guest house, nicely renovated, very clean and stylish. Got a retro atmosphere with small things around the house that will amaze you. The landlady is a nice and friendly person. I recommend this place for a nice quiet vacation for, the only downside is that it has only one bathroom which can be a bit of a problem with 4+ people.

We enjoyed our stay at the house and will go back there definitely.
