Plaza Mayor Charming 4* apartment in the heart of the Old City

The photos of the apartment, although good, do not do it justice. The interior is striking and sophisticated, using white, red and black as a theme.Everything works, and is immaculately maintained. We felt as if we were the first people to use it. We have visited Palma several times and this is the best apartment we have experienced. Alfredo greeted us and was a great help. It was a good start to the holiday.
Overlooking Placa Mayor, you are always part of the action, rather than separated off as many apartments are. During the day the atmosphere is festive, with music of many kinds, ranging from an evening concert by a talented showband to a noisy troupe of wacky dustbin dancers!
Eating in is a pleasure, the kitchen is easy to use, and although Placa Mayor is much quieter in the evenings, you still feel connected.
We chose not to have a car, and found that, as before, the city on foot, has endless fascinations. For example, even if you have no taste for modern art, the elevated terrace of the Es Baluard Gallery in the Santa Catalina area is stunning. Part of the Arab sea wall fortifications, both the exterior and the interior is architecturally magnificent, and has only been restored in the last five years. The art on display is first class and so are the staff.
For evening dining and daytime coffees, we would recommend Cappuccino San Miguel. The interior is luxurious and historic, but for evening magic try the rear courtyard with its fountain and white doves. The food is good too. For late night treats we often finished up at the Cappuccino Palau Reall which attracts an interesting crowd. Lastly, don't ignore the restaurant right outside the front door, Il Grotto. The food is both good and good value.
We would highly recommend this apartment and would love to stay here again on future visits to Palma.
