We cannot recommend Port St Charles highly enough. It guarantees a relaxing holiday in superb comfortable surroundings. We have enjoyed having numerous guests in our villa over the last three years and everyone says how wonderful the atmosphere is and how completely at ease they have felt. Barbados is an island of many different aspects, much of it still in the old colonial style, but also much of it now moving forward into its own place. The East coast, wild and rugged, is different again but well worth a visit. And, of course, don't forget the Bajun love of cricket and horse-racing. All of these aspects add to a perfect holiday retreat. We hope, if you choose to stay with us, you will feel equally satisfied with your Caribbean gem.

Simply amazing. We spent 1 week at the Boathouse in Port St Charles this November. The villa is gorgeous with lovely views, and turtles outside the window! Oh and hummingbirds! The furnishings and décor were lovely and when we got there the staff had filled the fridge and cupboards with food and drinks. How fab is that?

As for PSC. Very impressive. The staff are brilliant (big thanks to Shakira). The lagoon pool was very relaxing, with an honesty bar! And getting the water taxi to the beach was great fun. The beach is fantastic – stunning outlooks, very quiet, great snorkelling and a stones throw from the yacht club. Another place worth a visit for lunch.

Colleen & Nick – thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We’re definitely coming back.

Relaxing and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a glorious 10 days at The Boathouse. Immediately we opened the door on our arrival at this little villa in Port St Charles we felt relaxed. It is situated on a small island accessed over a bridge just across from the reception. This is a peaceful part of the marina but within easy walking or water taxi ride from the beach, pool and yacht club. We really miss sitting in the pretty outdoor sofa area for our morning tea watching the various birds and in the evening with a rum punch watching the sun go down. We used the very well equipped kitchen for breakfast and a couple of evening meals but, we also had several meals at the yacht club which were very reasonably priced and good quality. The friendliness of the staff in the resort combined with the facilities and comfort of the boathouse made our holiday an experience we can’t wait to repeat.

Best stay in 13 years

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from an amazing trip to Barbados. Having been visiting the island for 12 years previous in hotels, it was a change to go self catering. The owner is extremely easy to deal with & makes the booking & stay ultra simple. The apartment is positively stunning. Although only a 1 bed it feels more like a 3 bed with a great mix of inside & outside space. When we arrived there was everything you needed for the first day included & the specification inside is very high indeed. Spending a late sunset on the terrace with the marina in front is magical & very relaxing, the photos here don't do it justice. Port St Charles itself is beautiful, the pools are spacious & the food at the Yacht club is great & reasonably priced, with friendly staff. The owner also has contacts of watersports such as skiing / wake boarding / turtle feeding & scuba diving for those wishing for a more adventurous trip. All in all this has been our best visit since our wedding stay in 2010 & we would definitely recommend a stay here, unless thats when we're planning to return ;-)

Caribbean Gem

  • 5 of 5

I cannot recommend The Boathouse highly enough... Located on the west cost, within Port St Charles, it is a haven of relaxation and tranquility... Well appointed, with everything you might need (right down to the carefully chosen provisions on arrival which provided a few welcome reminders of home - who can go two weeks without Tea)!

The owners appear to have thought of everything (the TV aerial even allows for al fresco viewing if you happen to find yourself torn between the lovely views and Britain's first grand slam win in 74 years)....

Then there is the beach which has to be the best in the Caribbean... honestly, we visited a few and none compares... quiet, relaxing, with calm warm waters and a reef with sea turtles 40 yards from the shore....

Don't delay, book today... On second thoughts, scrap that, we want it all to ourselves!

Port St Charles

We just returned from a wonderful family vacation at Port St. Charles. We were very impressed with the beautiful villa and are already missing the outside dining room surrounded by lush flowers and views onto the harbour and boats. The villa is extremely well equipped for cooking, with everything you could need. There were also welcoming home-like touches, like a Bajan cookbook which we used to find recipes for the flying fish we bought at Six Men’s Bay, a local fish market and only a five minute walk from Port St Charles. The beach was perfect, gentle clear water and lots of fish at the coral reef. My son saw a sea turtle! I cannot recommend this resort and villa highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay in what is a very idyllic and peaceful apartment, equipped to a very high standard. It is actually larger than the pictures suggest and was very spacious for the two of us, the outside covered dining and sitting area is a great spot to entertain friends, overlooking the lagoon - especially as the sun sets. The beach, pool, bar and yacht club are all of a very high standard - we didn't use the other facilities. The complimentary water taxi is a very efficient and pleasant way of getting round the development.

Port St Charles is a quiet spot, largely due to it being a little bit isolated so it is worth hiring a car. If you feel like drinks with dinner and are going beyond the yacht club the choice is the over-priced and unmetered taxis or the local buses. The latter are frequent and can be rather fun; as all the restaurants are on the coast road they can be a good way of getting around.
