We built this place after tearing down a camp built in the 1930's that was beyond saving. Having spent the last 25 yrs on the lake we want to share this special spot with others who appreciate the lake and the mountains. The living room and deck have unforgettable sunsets and lake views. It is private and quiet while near the small city of St Albans, VT. Burlington is 30 minutes away and major ski areas are less than an hour from this location.
This property has spectacular views and direct lake access.
The home has a spectacular location - you want to be "on" the lake - well this is really the definition of "On the lake". The home is clean and has everything you could need.
There is so much do to in the area - St Albans is a great place to spend a day (Lots of inexpensive massages - we got two), we took day trip to Burlington, and to Montreal. We hiked in Missisquoi State Park, just about 10 miles away. And drove through the Champlain Island and enjoyed Grand Isle State Park.
But on the other hand, with the view in the home, we did not really want to ever leave.
This cottage has an amazing location right on Lake Champlain.
We watched beautiful sunsets and listened to the waves hit the shore. This place is so relaxing. Its location is close to St Albans - which has great shopping and restaurants. Also close proximity to Mt Mansfield for hiking and the Green Mountains. It really is a great location to start your exploring each day. The cottage was very clean and had everything you need for cooking and relaxing. Outside deck overlooking Lake Champlain was great to sip wine and watch sunsets or look at the stars at night. Gene (owner) was very responsive to any emails and very helpful on recommendations. We would for sure look to return and recommend for the perfect Vermont stay
This house is wonderful, everything you need. Very peaceful area. This is our second time to stay in this rental and we will probably rent it again next year!
Our extended family met here for Thanksgiving week, coming from literally all points of the country for the holiday. We had 4 adults and a (small) dog staying in the house, with my parents coming over during the day for activities and cooking. We took walks, sat around the little gas stove, stared out the windows both upstairs and down, played games and had a wonderful time! We drove through the Champlain Islands sight-seeing, which was also a lot of fun. This house is amazingly well-equipped for serving a large meal, and just feels friendly. When we had questions, the owner's son was amazingly friendly and prompt in attention. The house itself is actually much prettier than in the pictures, and gorgeous even in snow! It was also spotless, inside and out. We liked it so much, we're going back next year!
I stayed here with my mom and sister for my Nephews wedding week, It was very clean, very comfortable and homey. Couldn't ask for anything more. We look forward to visiting in the summer time to fully enjoy the lake!
Thank you so much for sharing your lake house with us.....it truly is breath taking! It was even more beautiful than the photos! We are from Illinois,we came through the Adirondack Mountians and are on our way to Maine, but I think we are spoiled NOTHING could be as wonderful as this! We spent some time in Kilkare Stake park, went downtown enjoyed Twiggs restaurant enjoyed Hudaks farm market, everybody was so kind including your son,he was here when we arrived.....a very nice, helpful(he gave me some short cuts into town!) young man!! It was nice to know that he lived close if we needed anything. Again, thank you so much,we would love to come back again!!
This is the perfect spot to enjoy Lake Champlain year round and foliage in the fall. Boating, fishing and swimming are directly accessible from your private dock. During winter ice fishing and x country skiing are right off the deck. Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak ski areas are less than an hour away. Spring brings the VT Maple Festival to town.
