Large master bedroom with king bed. Guest house with 1 large suite and 1 smaller - both with kitchenettes and TV. Wifi throughout.

Beautiful inground pool in private walled in yard.

Located just off the busy Alii Dr. on private road with controlled access. 5 acre mango farm next door.

About Peter Buehlow

I'm a semi-retired Canadian farmer and have been coming to the Big Island regularly since 2005. My family and I enjoy the break from winter and all the great activities so nearby.

My main hobby here is training and competing in triathlons but also enjoy the sightseeing activities, hiking, dining,watersports,etc.

We chose this property because it has the feel of living in the country (again, I'm a farmer) - the large lots,mango farm next door, no street lights, so quiet - yet is so close to all the city life - shopping,dining,beaches,movie theatre.

It also has the feel of a resort with the pool surrounded by the main house on one side and 2 guest suites on the other - perfect for 3-5 couples or extended families (keep the kids or in-laws in the guest suites to keep everyone happy.)

hands down best place to stay in kona

I was skeptical about doing a vrbo for the whole family, I hate being blamed if something is not up to everyones standards. Well, this place earned me kudos the whole trip. Exactly as advertised, no strange filters or camera angles. My husband, four kids, the in laws and I stayed here a week in March. It was close to the best beaches, easy to navigate out for longer day trips, and at the same time far enough away from the hubbub. It was great having a pool at the house for the kids when we weren't ready to go down to the beach, there was also ample pool supplies and toys for the kids.

Fully equipped kitchen made it easy to cook at home and save tons of money. Great covered patio downstairs and full kitchen/barbecue was used more than once. Ate breakfast on the upstairs patio every morning, beautiful views and nice breeze. Overall great home, great location, great experience. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home.

Well this was excellent

The house was perfect for our needs. Nicely located near Alii drive and all of the nearby attractions while being away from traffic and out in an area with a country feel. As a former Kamaʻāina the country feel for the place was well appreciated and it felt like home.

The owner was attentive to our needs. We had a small get together around the pool area and it was very nice with plenty of parking. Also the covered areas were very comfortable when a light rain was present.

Great sunsets and nice cross wind through most rooms. One guest did have a complaint about the ceiling fan not being easy to feel when she experienced a hot flash but there was a floor fan nearby. Master bedroom can be a bit noisy if someone is walking in the kitchen above on the wooden floor. Nice touch having essentially 2 kitchens with 2 more mini-kitchens.

Several mopeds were rented by those in our party and this place was easy to access via gutless moped.

In summary the owner was accommodating and professional while the house was wonderful.

A great week in paradise!!

We traveled to Kona and stayed here for 8 nights with our 2 kids, 3 and 5 years of age, and a nanny. It was a great setup for us. We like the location near Ali'i Drive and beaches. The property was very nice and the owner was excellent.

We would definitely consider staying here again.

"The Villa"

Normally, the photos on VRBO tend to make properties/rooms look larger than they really are. However, this place was so much larger in real life that my friends and I took to calling it "The Villa". We were a party of 6 (2 couples and two singles) so the sleeping arrangements worked out perfectly. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have their own private full bathroom, as two of them are really set up as independent suites. There are many places to congregate: near the pool, in the living room, on the large deck facing the ocean, on the private deck facing the pool. With our party size and the ability to do so much cooking at the house, this property actually was much cheaper than renting 4 separate hotel rooms and having to eat out all the time, while still being much fancier than any hotel and still enabling people to have their own quiet spaces. The pool was a hit, but not so much as being able enjoy a Kona coffee on the balcony every single morning. The gated community is just off Ali'i Drive and is a quick walk to the beaches, but the loudest noise you'll hear at night is the rustle of palm trees in the breeze.

Great Private Residence

Solid recommendation for this property. Great location close to shoreline, beach, farmer's market, restaurants, excursions and shopping without the hustle and bustle intrusion. Home's grounds offered many areas for relaxation, lounging and group entertaining. The outdoor kitchen was a nice amenity, affording our group the ability to cook and enjoy the pool at the same time with outdoor speaker system adding to the party atmosphere. Wonderful views of the ocean in the distance and close up view of the mountainside from the balconies off the main house. Location was very quiet at night, some noise from home being constructed behind the property during certain times during the day (home looked close to completion). Property more than accommodated our party of 6. The owner and caretakers were very accommodating, willing to answer questions and offer suggestions of places to go & things to do. Literature about the island and "things to know" brochures available onsite were very helpful especially for our groups' first trip to the island.

Home is located only 500 yards (450 metres) from Alii dr. in a quiet gated community. Although located centrally in Kona, it feels like you're in the country - very private. Homes and resorts on Alii which is where most are located, have a lot noise from traffic 24/7. Close to beaches, shopping, golf, deep sea fishing and a must is the volcanoes.
