This is a clean, cozy, inviting cottage in a fantastic location! The one remark that we hear over and over from our guests is 'This is so much better than a hotel'. The cottage is small - yet it feels spacious with the big bay windows and a great floor plan. It is ideal for 1-2 adults (or 1-2 adults with small children).
We are proud to be able to offer this historic cottage in a this prime location. The cottage is one block from the heart of downtown Missoula. It has privacy with a neighborhood feel even though it is just a few steps from the center of downtown. It is less expensive than a hotel - yet, you can enjoy two outdoor decks, a well-equipped kitchen, washer & dryer and off-street parking. After you park your car, you can stroll to plentiful dining, entertainment, shopping and outdoor recreation opportunities. The University of Montana and St. Pats Hospital are also within short walking distance ... not to mention the museums, theaters, library, post office, riverfront trail, Carousel for Missoula, and the list goes on.
The house features big bay windows in the dining area and the living area. There is one small bedroom with a queen bed. There is also a leather futon in the living room that easily converts to a queen sleeper.
The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with everything except for a full-size oven and dishwasher. It has a cook top/convection microwave combination, a large toaster oven and a variety of small appliances.
The bathroom is tiled and it features an old fashioned claw-foot tub with a shower. There is a small utility room with a washer and dryer next to the bathroom.
There are decks on both the north side and the south side of the house, so you can pick sun or shade and enjoy the outdoor seating.
There is a flat screen television with a DVD and cable TV service. We also provide Wi Fi. The house is set up with 'homey' touches including books, board games, toys for kids, and information about the local area.
Our location is directly across the street from the brand new state-of-the-art Peak Health & Wellness Center. Guests can purchase a week-long pass at the Peak for $25.00 or a day pass for $10.00.
The historic Northern Pacific Railroad Depot is just one block northwest of the cottage (see photos and map) - Please be aware that there is train activity at all hours of the day - if train noise bothers you, this location may not be the best choice.
Also, just across the street is the Jungle Child Care Center at the Peak (open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.) If you have immunization records for your child (age 6 weeks to 7 years) - you can use their 'drop-off' service for $5.00/hour.
Your deposit is 100% refundable within one day of check out. 7% Lodging tax (required by law) on stays shorter than 30 days.
We purchased this house in the Spring of 2013. We consider ourselves fortunate to live in Missoula, Montana and it is a privilege to invest in this awesome community. We both have professional backgrounds, in fact, Jon's office is just two blocks from this property.
This property is a quaint, historic building in a fantastic location. It offers a feeling of privacy and solitude, yet, it is just one block to the center of the vibrant and flourishing downtown area of Missoula.
If you want to be anywhere near downtown Missoula and/or the University of Montana ... you can't beat this location!
This house was built in 1895, so it has a lot of history! It is quaint, clean, and convenient. The bathroom and the kitchen were remodeled in recent years and all of the windows were replaced in the Spring of 2013. One of the best features of this house are the big bay windows in the dining and living areas. These windows bring in a lot of light and they make the rooms feel spacious.
The house has two brand new decks (one on the north side and one on the south side of the house) for outdoor enjoyment. This property offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the privacy with outdoor seating and off-street parking in the downtown area.
Location, location, location! This is a great little house in the heart of downtown Missoula. It is just one block off of the Higgins Avenue (Missoula's main drag). Enjoy the use of off-street parking while you are able to walk down town or to the University. Easy access to a selection of quality restaurants, breweries, wine bars, bakeries, coffeehouses, specialty shops, the University of Montana and the Griz Stadium, the Missoula Art Museum; the Missoula Public Library; St. Pat's Hospital; the Community Theater; the Clark Fork River Front, Greenough Park; MOBASH (a free, outdoor, lighted, concrete skatepark); CURRENTS (an indoor aquatic center), The Carousel for Missoula, Dragon Hollow (a children's play structure/park) and Brennan's wave - a freestyle kayaking 'wave'.
The renowned Missoula Farmer's Market is just outside the front door every Saturday Morning (May-October) and the brand new Peak Health and Wellness Facility is across the street. Note that this property is close to the historic train depot and active train tracks (see map). If day-time train noise bothers you, this may not be the ideal location for you. The property is otherwise peaceful and private - given that it is so close to downtown.
Missoula offers a variety of recreational opportunities with a variety of rivers to float and trails to hike. The Rattlesnake Wilderness and Snowbowl Ski area are just a few miles away. There are plenty of golf courses and mountain biking trails too.
