The exquisite, island-inspired decor throughout the four bedrooms, two lanais, gourmet kitchen, and expansive living room invite you to relax in style. Sliding doors in each bedroom open to the lush, tropical yard with views of Mauna Kea, Kohala Mountains, and ocean horizons. From the open and airy living room, step straight out onto a covered lanai to lounge in deckchairs or grill fresh fish on the outdoor BBQ.

Just off the living room is an intimate dining area and top-of-the-line kitchen that cooks of all skill levels will love. Each meal is easy to prepare with stainless appliances, with a built-in wine cooler, and ample granite counter space. Chat with the cook in the kitchen while sitting at the bar and sipping a mai tai.

Downstairs, you'll find one of two master bedrooms. Each ground floor master has a King bed and a sumptuous attached bathroom that boasts a soaking tub, his-and-her sinks, and a walk-in shower. The upstairs master bedroom with a Queen bed also features its own lanai.

What makes this townhome unique

This townhome is managed by Destination Mauna Lani LLC (DML). Shig and Maya Shiwota, owners of DML, are full time residents of KaMilo and manage several properties in KaMilo while a Director on the KaMilo HOA. In their retirement, they both stay very active. Shig manages to get in a few rounds of golf, make ukuleles and goes outrigger canoeing 3 times a week. Maya performs hula and joins Shig in outrigger canoe paddling, when she can fit it in. Lovely oasis!

Our group of 2 families had a great time at Shig and Maya's gorgeous and well-equipped property! We appreciated the availability of scuba equipment, beach chairs, etc. not to mention a great grill. The hosts are available if you need them but otherwise leave you your privacy. Property location is terrific, and we enjoyed access to the rec center and pool. Can't wait to go back!

(Note: One neighbor is noise sensitive and complained to Shig that kids were up and playing too early (the neighbor thought it was our group but wasn't), so be aware that he has this neighbor issue to manage. He was great about it; it's just something to be aware of if your kids are early risers and you're in the habit of sending them out to play.)

We felt like we were home!

This was my first time to ever rent and now I wish I had done this sooner - it was an amazing experience. Shig and Angelina helped from my first inquiry all the way through our departure - they are a top notch team! Ka Milo was a great location, we took advantage of all the amenities! We had 9 in our big family and the house was perfect. We never felt crowded, the bedrooms were all very comfortable, plenty of bathrooms and tons of supplies. It was so nice to feel like we were at home! We grilled, cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the beautiful kitchen, and utilized all that was there for us. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, pool toys, tons of towels, all of which were great to have there for our big family. The Foodland is right around the corner and has everything you would need. (We loved the Poke!) The location was just right for all the sightseeing we did, which was the whole island. This was a beautiful, clean and very comfortable home away from home for us... we will be back!

Fabulous Condo and Amazing Manager!

When I lost my rentals on the other side of the Island because of the threatening lava flow, I wanted a four bedroom unit to replace our 2 two bedroom homes. I was fortunate to find Shig and this lovely condo. Four bedroom condos are harder to find and this one was perfect for my group without breaking our budget. The unit was spacious, clean, and had beautiful high end finishes and furniture. The bathrooms were drop dead gorgeous. We loved having our morning coffee on the lanai and eating our meals out there--so peaceful and relaxing. I also loved the way the back patio doors could be pushed back to open up the living room to the outside. Shig, the property manager, and his wife Maya, responded IMMEDIATELY to the couple of requests we had. I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere with a more supportive manager! The pools (2)/spas/fitness center were the loveliest and best designed and equipped I have seen in any condo complex in my 23 years of visiting Hawaii. The main pool had ultra-comfortable lounge chairs under a large covered area, if you wanted to relax and escape the sun. The unit was just a couple minutes walk to this area and we swam under the stars every night. I highly recommend the pool in front of the fitness center and the spa behind the fitness center AT NIGHT--it was unreal it was so beautiful. HIGHLY recommend this home and these property managers. For the price, it is a real bargain!

Traveling Triathletes

Love Love Ka Milo...not beacuse it is close to the 70.3 Honu host hotel but beacause we feel like we are coming home!! If you have a large group that is responsible \, wants a luxery place to stay and enjoys cooking while on vacation then this is the house. The decor makes it even more enjoyable Everything you need is at your finger tips.

The lanai is perfect if you want to grill and entertain.....can't wait to come back!

Big Island Luxury and Privacy

This is a great place for the base of your Big Island adventure and relaxation stay. We were impressed with the top quality construction and furnishings of this home. We packed a lunch and snorkeled at the beach, toured over to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park, ate at a variety of excellent restaurants, and shopped all over the island. We also just relaxed, because the house is so comfortable and the setting is so peaceful.

I had only two regrets;

1. We did not use the very well equipped kitchen for a major meal, due to eating out.

2. We could have stayed for a month and not exhausted the area's recreation and entertainment resources. There is so much to see and do, then come back and relax in the quiet indoors or out.

We can't wait to go back.

Paradise Found

This home was perfect for my family and friends for a wonderful 40th birthday celebration. Kamilo is a nice neighborhood that offered a beautiful pool area and fitness center. You can walk to the pool area/fitness center in under 3 minutes from this home. The furnishings and kitchenware were very luxuious and surprising for the price point, much nicer than we expected. We stopped at costco, and filled up the Thermodor refrigerator and wine frig (which was amazing for our group and the case of wine we showed up with!!) The beds were very comfortable- better than most 4 star hotels!! I was nervous sleeping on a queen bed as I normally have a King Bed, but that was not a problem- very comfortable. The upstairs master bedroom offers a sliver of Ocean view and features an amazing bathroom that looks like a Four Seasons bathroom! The home comes completely stocked with new beach chairs (they were delivered while we stayed there!), snorkel equipment, pool floats and wonderful large beach towels!! It was very windy at the home, which we loved most of the time and it kept things cool, but this is also a windy month as well... Kamilo is located about 10 minute walk from Fairmont hotel- which was beautiful- we headed over for the most amazing sunsets- grab a cocktail and head down to the ocean- it is breathtaking!! Also a 10 minute walk is the Mauni Lani shops- where a local grocery store is located- although pricey- it is good for the small items you need- and the prepared foods are great- the fried chicken is great. Hit Costco before heading to the home as items are pricey in this area!! The private Beach club was top notch! The beach was smooth and the water was smooth as well.. I was pleasantly surprised how great the snorkeling was here- lots of fish and coral and views to Maui on a clear day. Napua is the restaurant at the private beach- best mango margaritas ever!! Lunch was great as well- expect resort pricing- but the views are breathetaking here.... Property Managers Shig and his wife were great and helped when needed it and stayed away the rest of the time allowing us to enjoy this home by ourselves. There were 7 people in our party and there was plenty of space in the home for all of us... I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay in a beautiful resort community, as long as as it is okay to walk for that amazing ocean view..
