My husband and I purchased this home in Pacific Beach because it is so close to San Diego's biggest outdoor playground - Mission Bay Park. It's difficult to find a better place to enjoy biking, rollerblading or splashing in the surf with your family and friends.
I met my husband John during a cooking class at Great News!, a local cooking school that is renown throughout the region.
In 2000 our home was extensively remodeled with influence from my Landscape Architecture background and our combined love for gourmet food.
Our two young boys have had the pleasure of learning to boogie-board, surf and sail within minutes of our home. Ask us about opportunities for adult and child classes during your visit!
It is our pleasure to invite our guests to enjoy the many attractions and activities that San Diego has to offer, to savor our year-round great weather and to relax in our cozy beach house.
Rachel Forester purchased this house in 1997
I searched for weeks on VRBO for the right place to stay. My job had placed me in San Diego for several months, so I was determined to find something that was spacious, close to restaurants, and in a safe neighborhood. My first introductions to the property were the photos on VRBO. To be honest, I don't feel they do justice to how beautiful the property truly is.
The grounds are always maintained and the house had everything you could ever need. I appreciate mostly how easy it was to communicate with the owners whenever I had a question about anything. The owners are very personable and try very hard to accomodate any needs you may have. It is evident by how well they maintain their property, that they care deeply about ensuring that their tenants are as comfortable as possible.
The home is very spacious--large and open kitchen and living room areas. Easy access to patios of the kitchen. 6 people stayed here comfortably. Outdoor areas are beautiful. We relaxed outside in the morning a lot. Owner was helpful and provided us with coupons to local attractions.
My family and stayed here for about two weeks in June. The whole experience was extremely comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. The house is in fantastic shape and the owner was pleasantly helpful with the few requests we asked of her. A house like this is hard to find and we hope to be back next year.
This is a lovely home and very well cared for. I stayed here for 5 months while on a work assignment. Every detail was attended to and it was a pleasure to arrive without needing anything - including a fork! Thank you for a great, trouble-free, and peaceful stay.
This house was really nice! We stayed over Thanksgiving week. Rachel and her family were very nice and helpful. Rachel offered to buy or order a turkey for us to make sure we had one for our Thanksgiving dinner. We cooked a 16 lb bird in 4.5 hrs in the rocking convection oven in the kitchen! She also suggested buying tickets to "The Grinch" which was a fabulous production we really enjoyed. The house is located near grocery stores and restaurants. We were able to watch the sunset from the nearby beach. It was a very comfortable and quiet place for our kids and ourselves! I highly recommend this house!
We stayed in this house during Christmas week with my parents and other family. It was a perfect space for multiple generations to relax, cook, enjoy al fresco dining, or take walks to the beach and other environs. Situated in a quiet part of Pacific Beach, the house is nice sanctuary and is also good for the gourmet cook, as the the kitchen is fully equipped. Rachel was very responsive to my questions and quick at returning our security deposit. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home!
