About Debbie Pemberton

I'm originally from Barrie, Ontario but moved to Victoria BC in June 1989 when my then 6 year old daughter finished kindergarten. As a single mother I wanted to be closer to my family who had all previously made the move out west. This was the best decision that I have ever made. Victoria is truly a wonderful place to live with everything it has to offer, not to mention the fact that it has the best year round weather in all of Canada. Not too many people in Canada can say they golf and bike in January and February but we can here in Victoria.

Debbie Pemberton purchased this house in 1991

Why Debbie Pemberton chose Victoria

I purchased this home in 1991. Being an older home it was full of character and had a lot of soul. There are hardwood floors in the main living space, wainscotting in the living room and sun room.

Over the years I have completely renovated the home to bring it up to today's modern standards.

What makes this house unique

This lovely home is tucked away in a quiet, residential area but ideally located close to downtown. It gets an abundance of light throughout the home. The sun room has nine windows alone! It's a charming, character-filled house that is relaxing and clutter-free. Care was taken to decorate it to show it to its full advantage.

Perfect place for kiddly winks

  • 5 of 5

We were traveling with two small children and so we were looking for a place that would have a space to allow us adults to feel on vacation too. What I liked best about this place was the sunroom/tv room that was in the back and had a door to close so one of us could sleep in a bit while the other entertained the early risers. As well the kids room had a bunk bed (with a double bottom), which allowed one of us to lie down if needed. I also appreciated that the amenities in the kitchen were high end, nothing is more annoying than a cheap vegetable peeler that doesn't work. Debbie was nice enough to have coffee and tea there and we were greeted with a fruit basket, some chocolate and even a bath toy for the kids. Finally there is a park a 2 minute walk down the street which we used a couple of times between sightseeing and bedtime. It's a nice place for any traveler but great for anyone with little kids.

Great Stay for Extended Family!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the décor, ambience, brightness and layout of the home! The gas fireplace in the LR was cozy; the new fully appointed kitchen was a pleasure to use. We used the sunroom area with the glass dining table, large TV, wrap around windows and glass door to keep our young grandson with us, a majority of the time. It was a great area to entertain friends and family!

The space was big enough to accommodate our two families very well. Grammy & Grampy in the Master BR and daughter, son-in-law and grandson in the second room. Debbie, the renter, provided a stroller and playpen for our use. When I asked about a highchair, saying I would happily rent one locally, she decided she'd buy a new one for us and future renters to use. That was going above and beyond!

Debbie was excellent - answering our enquiries within hours, and replenishing supplies the same day we mentioned they were getting low. She was so considerate, buying scent free laundry soap to prepare our sheets and towels for us prior to our arrival. And she welcomed us with a 'fruit & fishing rod toy' basket'!!!

We'd stay there again!!! Local friends who dropped in for coffee and to visit, want their visiting families to stay there in the future.

We are so grateful that we found this cozy jewel on a quiet residential street. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!

Had a great say in Vic. Nice and comfortable - had everything we needed including excellent kitchen. Good location, easy parking, gas fireplace is nice. Debbie was very helpful on our departure as we left an item behind and she was able to mail it on to us. Thanks again!

Family Vacation to Victoria

  • 5 of 5

A really nice home at a reasonable price! When we arrived we were greated by a kind-hearted owner that had a colouring book with crayons out for our kids along with a stocked fruit basket and some chocolate. Additionally, the house was well maintained, extremely organized and comforting for a family with two young kids. The owner even provided us with a pack'n'play and a stroller to use while down there. Awesome experience, this home made travelling with a 2 and 4-year old enjoyable.

terrific place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Debbie's place for the Victoria Day weekend, and it was ideal. Our family of four (two young kids, one and five) had plenty of space to play, including the sideyard, which was also perfect for a bbq. We entertained another family while we were there. The kitchen amenities were great. And Debbie made us feel very welcome! Her house is extremely well located, with quick access to downtown. We would definitely stay there again, I recommend it very highly. Thanks again, Debbie!

Me, my wife and our 3 small children stayed here during Spring Break. The owner was amazing and everything we needed was provided. The house was very nicely done and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again should we ever make our way back to Victoria!

Victoria is a lovely community located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and is also the capital of British Columbia. It is the must-see city to visit in British Columbia, starting with a trip - just a ten minute drive from my home - to the Parliament buildings adjacent to the harbour. Victoria has been a popular recreation destination for well over a century with year-round golfing, cycling, bird-watching, kayaking and hiking to name just a few of the many activities visitors can enjoy. Just around the corner from my home, are popular restaurants like Fifth Street Bar and Grill and San Remo (Italian) restaurant. Shopping is nearby since my home is situated close to two major malls in the city.
