We had an awesome time at Anna Maria Island. Your house offers all the comforts of home without all the worries. Lot's of space, gorgeous decorations and perfect location. It had everything we needed for our week stay. I loved waking up every morning, crossing the street and walking along the Bay collecting sea shells on my way to City Pier. The Pier offered great fishing and special sighting of dolphins and other sea life. Because of the great location we drove to Disney World one day, which the kids really enjoyed. We also had time for Paddle boarding, kayaking and biking. One of our favorite places to visit on the way to the beach was Ginny's & Jane E's Bakery (one of the coolest cafes you will ever visit). Definitely a friendly island with a lot to offer. We look forward to coming back in the near future.
Our family purchased our beach cottage on Anna Maria Island, after vacationing on the island for the past five years. No matter where our travels have taken us, we always come back to AMI for the gorgeous sun, sand and sea. We've rented various spectacular homes throughout the years and settled on the quiet part of the island, the north end. We love the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the sugar, white sand on the beaches of the Gulf and Tampa Bay.
After living abroad for several years and traveling the world, we knew we needed an escape to warm weather and sunshine, within a flights' distance. Anna Maria Island is a wonderfully, laid back, no big hotels, Island..which has the Gulf of Mexico on the West side of the island, and Tampa Bay at the east side of the island. You can have as much or as little 'action' at your fingertips. The locals are excited to share their piece of Paradise with visitors. Once your feet hit the sugar soft white sand of the beach, you won't want to put your shoes on again. The warm sunshine and cool breeze are exactly what a person needs to escape normal 'life'.
We fell in love with our beach cottage for its 250 square foot screened in elevated porch, overlooking Tampa Bay. Whether you are drinking your morning cup of coffee watching the sea, or relaxing in the evening with a cold drink, this porch allows you to sink into the overstuffed furniture and let your mind day dream. Even after sunset, the beauty of the swaying palm trees will take your breath away. And then there is the sensual smell of the sea breeze off the Bay. Soothing, relaxing and sure to please every holidaymaker.
If listening to hotel doors slam isn't your thing-you've found the perfect place to vacation in Anna Maria Island, especially at the north end of Anna Maria, where our cottage is located. The further north you move up the island, the more relaxed life becomes.
Anna Maria has also been named, 'One of America's Prettiest Town's, by Forbes magazine of August 2013. Forbes states, ' The entire city is a protected bird sanctuary, and don’t be surprised if you happen to meet a manatee during your morning swim.' Truly paradise, enough said!
