|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
Our condo is a few minutes walk from the beach (Anaeho'omalu Bay: A-Bay), restaurants and shops - it's the perfect place for your stay in Hawaii. It is a short walk to the world-class Hilton Waikoloa and Marriott Waikoloa Beach Hotels.
Our quiet 3rd floor location (unit D303) has been upgraded with gorgeous bamboo and tile floors and features contemporary colors. It sleeps up to six guests. There is an eco king bed in the master bedroom with an full en suite bath with dual sinks and a separate walk-in shower, a queen in the second bedroom with adjoining bathroom, and a full sleeper sofa in the living room. All of the towels, sheets, and linens are organic and/or bamboo. The kitchen is fully stocked for those who love to cook. A huge lanai stretches from master bedroom to living room. Enjoy stunning views while you have breakfast, with great views of Hualalai (the dormant volcano overlooking Kona). There are two phones with free long-distance calls to the US and Canada, and high-speed wireless internet (DSL). There is a washer and dryer in the unit.
You'll love the recently renovated, huge outdoor pool surrounded by plants and birds. Immerse yourself in either hot tub and relax. The on-site bathroom makes it easy to change by the pool. Close by are propane BBQ grills ready for a party in the courtyard. The office has computers/fax/copiers (for those who must work) and a full exercise/gym room.
You only need to bring a toothbrush and swimsuit! Pool, tennis, golf, windsurfing, snorkeling, diving, dolphins and more are all close by - treat yourself to fun and relaxation. Walk over to the Hilton, King's or Queen's shops and enjoy amazing restaurants and fun shops. There is now a full-service grocery store in the Queen's shops. At the Hilton, sit beside the Dolphins as they show off their latest tricks. The sculptures around the extensive Hilton grounds are beautiful and compelling.
You're bound to have a wonderful relaxing time in this oasis by the ocean! (:
Mahalo - Bonnie & Steven
We lived in Colorado for many years - and love the mountains - but Hawaii just had a special magic we couldn't resist. 10 years later, we love Hawaii even more. The beauty and serenity we experience every day fills our hearts. Bonnie & Steven
Bonnie purchased this condo in 2004
We choose our Vista Waikoloa condo because of the beautiful grounds, the solid concrete construction, great location and peaceful feeling. We visit the area every week, and after several years (and many options) finally found the perfect condo.
We love to walk to Sansei (Japanese food) in the Queen's shops on Sunday or Monday for a 50% off special, then take a leisurely walk to the ocean to watch a beautiful sunset. It's magical.
Another favorite activity is to visit the dolphins at the Hilton, usually with a stroll along the manicured gardens and among the ancient art along the way.
Bohdi Tree restaurant is amazing!!! Fantastic vegan gluten free options.
We spent a week in Bonnie & Steve's condo celebrating our anniversary and were extremely happy. The condo was well-furnished with everything you need to have all the comforts of home, was very clean and quiet, had a great view of the mountains and sunrise each morning, and a fabulous pool and hot tub area. The pool was very long and we were able to swim laps. Also, you can easily walk out to the main road and walk two loops around for a near 6-mile walk. The restaurants and shops were only about a mile walk, or an easy drive if not wearing comfortable shoes. We really didn't want to leave! The condo decor was lovely, and when we return to the Big Island, we will definitely stay here! Oh, for the previous reviews talking about problems with the front door key, one solution is to never turn the key to the right. Just turn it to the left each time, and you will have no problems at all. The door self locks on the way out. The Tropics Ale House is literally just steps from the condo complex and has fabulous pizza and reasonable prices.
This is a large breezy space with high ceilings and glass sliders facing South. The sun never directly shines into the unit keeping it cooler. I liked the view of the vast sloping mountain. The location was perfect for us. Close enough to Kona for day trips, close to the best beaches, and a good spot to explore other parts of the Island. The condo is clean, nicely furnished and decorated. The only problem is the front door lock is tricky.
This was our family's second trip back to Hawaii. This time, we decided to stay in a gorgeous condo. The first night we arrived, we had somewhat of a hard time finding the condo, and could not reach Bonnie by her phone. The key and the door were also causing trouble for us all week. Besides those incidents, the place was perfect. It was close enough to hop in the car and drive to Hapuna beach whenever. The Lanai was a perfect place to sit and relax whenever. Also, the third floor view are wonderful! There was never a boring moment here. Our family really enjoyed boogie boarding with the equipment Bonnie supplied for us. We had a little issue when checkout was, but Bonnie and her maid were very understanding in giving us time to pack up. Everyone was so friendly in this village, we miss it and want to come back soon!
Fantastic experience & would recommend without reservation - this place really anchored the vacation as a relaxing place to come home to at the end of the day. We went during the off-season towards the end of May and practically had the whole condo complex (gym, pool) to ourselves, as well as a pretty empty beach.
It was a great home base for exploring the island (easy day trips to any spot, from points north such as Waimea and Mauna Kea, to coffee plantations and volcanoes national park south), but was also a ~3 minute drive to a gorgeous beach for days when you just wanted to relax.
Plenty of space for large groups for this price point (fit 5 adults with room to spare - pictures don't do the beds justice), enough pantry space to stock up on food if you didn't want to eat out every day - Costco right next to the airport, other shops within a 15 minute drive of the condo. Friendly and responsive owners. Clean apartment on arrival.
A gorgeous vista of the sunrise seen between the mountains from the deck, while having a fantastic breakfast. Then it's off each and every day to another a Hawaiian adventure. The owners have sincerely placed their hearts where it belongs on the island!
Very comfortable, lots of room. We opened everything up and left it that way entire time... nice breezes, and nothing but fresh air; never considered the air con. Beautiful grounds and great drive to condo. Bonnie was/is a peach to work with. Lots of places to take short walks or long ones. Make sure you explore all the resort areas/hotels: Mauni Lani, Mauna Kea, Hilton and Marriot. Lots of small private beaches with almost no one there. Closet on lanai stuffed with every kind of beach gear you could want. Great restaurants (but a tad pricey). Not to worry, WalMart, Kmart, and Costco 20 minutes away. Of our three trips to the Big Island, this was our best place to stay.
World-class Scuba diving, Snorkeling, Kite surfing.
