High Speed Internet connectivity / Laundry room / Game Room loaded with board games and books to read. We have a Karoke Player as well (for the vocally inclined...until 10:00...)
One large fireplace style wood burning stove in the Living area. Another pot-belly stove in the master bedroom.
All new lighting, floors & carpets throughout.
Outside a large deck in front with swing, BBQ, and seating area to entertain. Spacious ~fully fenced~ back yard with play area for children.
Kitchen: Most vacation rental companies call kitchens 'stocked' by just supplying pots, pans and plates... That is not what we mean...
Our stocked kitchen is stocked with all ammenities you need in a kitchen. Including appliances for baking, salad spinning, mixing, you name it. We have a 'honor system' with food items. You don't have to go to the grocery store and re-stock an entire house with all the condiments. A lot of that will already be stocked in our refridgerator or cupboards. All we ask is if you do use something up, replace it.
There is a trust factor with the games, DVD's, and Karaoke. We know you will treat our house just like you'd treat your own. We have children's size snow suits, ski's, boots, sleds, and tubes anyone can use. 'Mi Casa es Su Casa!' And, you'll keep coming back! Tell your friends and family! We love to share our cabin!
Note: To be 'up-front,' winter months when there is a potential for snow, we include a 'snow removal' fee which is our cost of $45. If it is not necessary to do snow removal, we will refund this fee along with the traditional refund of deposit.

About John and Marilyn Bacon
We are the Bacon's. John, Marilyn, and Joey. We have many pets. 2 dogs, Rusty and Rico; A rabit, 'smoke;' a couple of turtles, a bearded dragon, and a horse 'Kobe'. We do allow ~only~ our dogs to visit the 'BP;' only because they are our dogs and they are 'hair' dogs versus 'fur' dogs. So, people with allergies do not react to usually.
We live in the South Bay area of Southern California.
We love the outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, horseback riding, and swimming.
John and Marilyn Bacon purchased this cabin in 2012
Why John and Marilyn Bacon chose Moonridge
We purchased our cabin in honor of our beloved father, John W. Bacon (1927-2009,) who would always rent a cabin for us to get together for family reunions. This cabin doesn't hold a lot of people, but it is great for our small family. When our extened family comes around, we have freinds who own cabins nearby so we can all be close.
We purchased this property because we loved the floorplan and proximity to Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and all the local ammenities. It was a fixer-upper and we have done a lot of upgrading to the cabin already. When we bought it, originally, it was all carpeted with ~ugly~ old carpeting. Every room a different color and style. Even the kitchen and bathroom were carpeted. 'Quirky!' Now we installed some new carpeting and appropriately, floors where they should be. The lighting fixtures were 'original' from the 60's, so we had to replace those as well. We also did some structural work on the house. More to come!

What makes this cabin unique
We are in a good neighborhood, and close to EVERYTHING! But, you feel you are still in the rural mountains. Whether it is walking, riding our bikes, driving (and even easy access to the bus;) it's only a short trip. We love being close to the golf course and the Town trail is very close to start a nice hike. Also, most of our neighbors are FANTASTIC!
The open floorplan was especially desirable to us because we could be cooking in the kitchen, playing games in the game room, watching TV in the family room, or just hanging out by the fireplace; all of us can still be together in essentially the same room!
We also fell in love with the curb appeal and charm of our front deck.
We love our big-little 'Bacon-Paradise!'
We have a fun YouTube Video of last year's Winter break:
This gives you a layout in video form of our 'paradise' but flooring upgrades had been done after the video was taken.
Also, new for 2014----FOOSBALL!!!!
