Located on a small circle in the middle, with very little traffic. Easy, level (for Beech Mountain :) ) access year round. NOTE: In the winter, the town of Beech Mountain requires snow tires or chains. There are two roads to our home, so access is never limited as it can be in other areas of Beech.
We love Beech Mountain! Our Families have been vacationing in the Mountains of North Carolina for over 50 years. When we first visited Beech Mountain 25 years ago on a ski trip, we fell in love with Beech. 15 years later we visited Beech to purchase a vacation home in the Mountains. When we visited 'On the Rocks' via internet, we knew this was going to be our Mountain Home. Named appropriately for the two large boulders in the front of the house, 'On the Rocks' has become much more than a home surrounded by rocks. This is a private home that we are excited to share with you. When you arrive and step into our home, you will feel at home yourself. We have made our cottage comfortable and warm. When we rent and stay in destinations, we expect special amenities and quality appointments which we have extended to you at 'On the Rocks'. Our children have grown up vacationing here in all the seasons and we hope you enjoy creating memories here as much as we have. We market the rentals ourselves and have a team of competent and local professionals to make sure the cottage is in great working order and extremely clean. This is our 2nd home which we use regularly and we hope you will treat it as your own 2nd home. Please call, email or even text us if you have any questions about our cottage. We have furnished and decorated our cottage warmly and appointed it with mountain charm. If you have a special request or comment, please let us know. The Jara Family
Steve & Ann Jara purchased this cottage in 2005
We chose 'On the Rocks' because of the easy access (two ways to get here), level parking, charm and the views! The location can't be beat - just a few minutes from the slopes, Fred's, Beech Mountain Golf Club.
Easy to get to
We loved staying at On the Rocks! Such a great getaway...We will always remember our son's first snowman on the deck! Great memories of skiing too. Thanks again for such a beautiful mountain home!
We had a great time at "On the Rocks", we were only there for a short time but got to see some snow fall late in the season and perfect amount for our 3.5yr old to play in! Cottage is great and conveniently in between Beech Ski area and Beech town center (sled hill and restaurants). Saw deer each night we were there! Owners are very friendly/reachable and full of information if needed!
We had a great time On the Rocks. Close to skiing and other attractions, well maintained with all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay...
The house was perfect for what we needed. The people that work at the different places to eat are very rude and could care less if you are there or not. No customer service at all. The lift tickets were very overpriced considering you could barely ski with so many people on the mountain and the lifts are very outdated. Sorry to put this review on here but wanted the owners to know.
We just recently concluded our family vacation at On The Rocks in Beech Mountain. The house is perfect for a family trip. There is a full kitchen with all amenities, gas fireplace, flatscreen TVs, etc.....
The owner stores sleds that he allows guests to use at the city's sledding hill. The house is less than 5 minutes from ski resort. The house is located in a wooded area that contains tons of wildlife. We probably saw no less than 20 deer which my 5 year really loved! The people on Beech Mountain are super nice and the ski resort is perfect for kids that are just learning to ski. The ski instructors did great with our kids!
Plenty of parking on a quiet street, it is light and bright with easy access. The cottage is all on one level and well maintained, and makes a very cosy retreat with great mountain views from the back deck. I can highly recommend it for a single or couple with friends or family who come to visit.
The condo has a beautiful view. So nice to look up at night and see the actual mountain. We saw 6 deer run across the road as we were packing up to leave.
Beech Mountain has numerous activities, snow skiing, snow boarding, canoe, fishing, golf, hiking on numerous trails, tennis, fitness, bird watching, biking right here on the Mountain. Brick Oven Pizza shows outdoor movies throughout the summer. Fred's General Store will host outdoor concerts. Wooly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, Oz Fest on top of Beech Mountain is a remake of the Wizard of Oz, 4th of July 'Roasting of the Pig', Halloween Events. Spend the day at Linville Caverns and tour the caves. Spent the day on a pontoon boat at Lake Watagua. Grandfather Mountain has an outdoor zoo and hiking trails, as well as the Highland Games which attracts thousands. Boone has Appalachian State University to watch college football as well as numerous shops. Blowing Rock has great parks and shopping including Tanger Outlet Shops. Check out the summer calendar for Blowing Rocks 'Art in the Park'. There is so much to do at Beech Mountain year round!
