Overview

Snowmass Village House Rental Photos and Description

Five Bedrooms, 4.5 Bathrooms With Mountain Views

BaseCamp was built in 1977 and we purchased it in 1987. This is a place where up to three families can enjoy a fantastic vacation in the mountains!

Our home has actually 5 bedrooms: 3 king bedrooms, 1 bunk room and a loft. You would enter the house from the street and find yourself in the large living room. A kitchen is located to the left, equipped with a SubZero fridge, electric Jennaire stove and oven, plus dishwasher. It has cooking utensils, glassware and plates, coffee maker, blender, and wine cooler. The dinning room accomodates 12 people. Both the kitchen and dinning room have newly refinished hardwood floors. During the summer and autumn, the generous deck, facing north and west, has a large round table with 6 chairs, 2 stools and a sun umbrella. You can enjoy the view with morning coffee/tea or have a glass a wine and yes, enjoy the view! The living room has a tall beamed ceiling with a wood burning fireplace, a stereo system, bookshelves loaded with books about Aspen/Snowmass, flat screen TV and an electric piano.

The first master bedroom has a king bed, private bath, TV and is located up one level with views facing south of (High Alpine and the Wall) the mountains. The loft with twin beds is above, accessible by a spiral staircase. On the lower level there is the 2nd master bedroom with a king bed, private bath with a TV with views of a wonderful grove of pine trees and more mountains. The third bedroom has a king bed with private bath and a large walk in closet with a sauna across the hall. The bunk room's 4 pine bunk (twin size) beds is great for kids, with the bathroom across the hall. At the end of the downstairs hall is an extra large capacity washer/dryer.

About Karin Olsen Campia

My husband and I enjoy all types of outdoor sports. We have skied extensively each year in Snowmass for the past 26 years, since we purchased our home. We also sail, hike, are avid golfers, tennis players, rowers and cyclists. We have raised 2 daughters and have loved sharing many wonderful outdoor experiences with them. Both girls love all the fun and exciting mountain activities that Snowmass Mountain has to offer and are expert skiers.

Karin Olsen Campia purchased this house in 1987

Why Karin Olsen Campia chose Snowmass Village

Snowmass Village is a fantastic place to spend quality time with our family. Our home is located a third of the way up the mountain so you can by-pass the often crowded lower lifts by skiing to the Gondola mid-station or by taking a short walk to the High Alpine lift. We love the proximity to the mountains and the activities that are available in the winter as well as the summer. Aspen is a short 7 miles away, so movie theaters, restaurants and great shopping are close but do not dominate our vacation.

What makes this house unique

We love the mountain views and the fact that our home feels private and secluded among tall pine trees. When the wind blows, the trees sigh and rustle. A snow storm is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and watch the snow swirl around the large glass windows of the living room as a fire burns in the fireplace.

Not a house, a home.

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 couples off for a week of skiing without the kids. The house has 3 master suites and was very comfortable for 3 adult couples. We didn't use the bunk room or loft, although if the kids had come along there would have been ample room. The nicest feature of this house is that its feels like a home. There are so many personal touches. We all had the feeling like we were staying at a friends house, not a rental.

Great, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful stay during President's week 2015. The home is large enough to comfortably accomodate two families, with only four of us there was more tan enough room - we didn't even use two of the bedrooms! The home is very clean and equipped with everything you will need. Feels very 'homey'. We enjoyed the large fireplace and the sauna after a day of skiing. Access to the slopes is a short walk, and you can ski if there is fresh snow on the road.

Our week in heaven!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family gathered for a reunion in this lovely home. There was plenty of space for us all to be together and also for all of us to have privacy. The owner, Karin, was very easy to work with and the property manager, Andrew, was very attentive and helped clear away the nearly 3 feet of snow we got during that week! The house and kitchen were well equipped, including plenty of dry firewood! We would love to return! Many thanks for allowing us enjoy the comforts of your home~

Picturesque Ski-in, Ski-out Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This vacation home has a beautiful view, close proximity to the slopes, and the most comfortable couch I've ever sat on! We had an amazing vacation and this house definitely was a big part of that. We skied everyday, made fires, cooked chili dinners, had snowball fights, read novels, went to To a concert at Belly Up, and ate in downtown Aspen. This house allowed all of my party to do what they wanted when they wanted.

The ski access is a 1 minute walk down the road and a 2 minute walk up a small hill to right under the lift. Even the youngest in out party (4 years old) had no trouble hiking the little hill! It was a much better set up than fighting your way through the mall.

The house was very comfortable. All of the beds had down comforters, each room had a humidifier, the kitchen is well-stocked with all the pots and pans one might need, the family room had plenty of firewood and board games.

All in all, if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. You will definitely be seeing me again, for another amazing vacation!!! Thank you for such an amazing stay, the mountain air was just what the doctor ordered!

Wow.

  • 5 of 5

Have stayed before in Snowmass in condo's and always enjoyed but thought with a couple of families we'd try

a house for a change. Beautiful home (more home than house) with amazing views and though not quite ski in/ski out only a very short and easy stroll to slopes made it easy to come in and out for a break or lunch. We had a car, which is recommended, as it is a fair way up the hill (hence the views) but transport is easily available and once you settle in front of the fireplace and relax you really don't feel like heading out anyway!! Thanks to Karin and also to Andrew (property manager) for a wonderful experience. We'll be back.
