Pahoa Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Private cottage in the Puna Forest Reserve - we are open for business!
Aloha - We are open for business. We are offering a special fall rate of $50/night + tax and $40 cleaning fee until Nov. 1. The hurricane passed us by and so has the lava flowing towards Pahoa. The lava is currently flowing away from us and we are not in any danger. Our business will remain open and we are now off-grid on solar panels with our own water supply and satellite internet. It is very peaceful and beautiful here. Awake to the sound of the song bird in the morning. You will love being close to nature while staying at our Puna Rainforest Cottage. We are located at 1200 ft elevation so our temperatures at night are always cool and very comfortable. With the beach only 15 minutes away you can have the best of both worlds - sunny weather and restful rainforest. Our suite (2 room) cottage sleeps up to four persons with a queen bed and two twin beds, a full bath and a small kitchenette (mini-fridge, gas range, pots and pans and dishes). Our cottage has a full lanais (porch) with a distant ocean views. We have a common area with a propane BBQ grill, and have free wireless internet.
You will love the tropical decor and accents and will be comfortable for a night or for a week's stay or longer.
Lots to do and see here, and we are centrally located for your stay. Visit Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park, the Ahalanui Beach Park with the warm ponds for swimming, Pohoiki Park for ocean swimming and surfing, the Lava Tree State Park, and many other sites to visit while here. Visit Makuu Farmers Market Sunday mornings until 2:00 pm, Uncle Roberts Saturday morning market, and Uncle Roberts Wednesday evening market in Kaimu near Kalapana.

Why George Leonard chose Pahoa
We are located in the most peaceful part of the Big Island, yet only 3 miles to Pahoa and only 15 miles to the beach. We are located 22 miles from the Hilo (ITO) Airport, and 95 miles from the Kona (KOA) airport.
What makes this cottage unique
Starry skies at night, crisp tropical mornings with a morning rainfall, rainforest sounds to lull you to sleep. Unplug and unwind!
