This spectacular home, impeccably clean and beautifully furnished, is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in one of Princeville’s most prestigious neighborhoods. This 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath home can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests. There are 2 master suites each with California King beds, and en-suite bathrooms. One of the master suites can also accommodate a child in the oversized chair that folds out into a twin size sleeper. Both master suites have HDTV with cable and DVD players. Each master suite opens to a covered lanai, where you can relax with your morning coffee or afternoon tea. The third bedroom has a full size bed with a twin trundle, perfect for teens, and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. There are two separate living areas, one upstairs and one downstairs, (adults and children can each have their own play space!) with an additional queen size sofa sleeper downstairs, along with a large screen HDTV, cable and DVD player. A fully equipped office with fax/copy machine, also has a day bed for an additional person if needed, and there is high speed wireless internet throughout the house. A port-a crib is available for your littlest one!

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped, stocked with everything you will need to cook a gourmet meal or Hawaiian bar-be-que, and includes stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and ample dining space. The upstairs covered wrap around lanai includes a gas barbeque, and boasts stunning mountain and valley views. Walk across the street and experience beautiful ocean sunsets perched atop the cliff overlooking the ocean. Just a block away you can access the trail that leads to down to a beautiful beach on the Anini Reef for snorkeling, swimming and shelling. In Hale Laulea you’ll find everything you will need to complete your family vacation; bikes, tennis racquets, boogie boards, sand toys and beach chairs. You will also find portable coolers, beach towels, family videos and board games for everyone to enjoy at the end of the day.

The management company is terrible.

The house was nice, but had many, many issues that were/are not up to the standards that we are use to with Home Away. Here are only the top few.

1. We found ants in the master bed, when we told the management about it, we were accused of lying. I took photos with my cell of the ants and the roaches. To show them before we were believed. All they did is want to spray and set traps.

2. The add states that there are two play area's one for the adults and one for the kids. But really there is only one area that has a TV besides the bedrooms that is. No radio, no stereo at all. The upstairs is not a good area to hang out and play in. Again when we reported that there was no upstairs TV as we expected (there is cabinet where one can go) but the management said to my husband when we called about it ...that we might have stolen it and to cover our tracks we were calling...Very unprofessional. They checked with the owner to know that there never was a TV up there.

3. There is no air conditioning at all in the house and several of the windows didn't have screens on and one of the screened doors had big gaping holes being bitten by bugs all nigh does not let one sleep.

4. HI and the trade-winds do keep the island cool when they are blowing, but the were still the week we were there...I could accept that, but as the upstairs is were the kitchen and bbq grill was it was hot and when we tried to use the grill, it blew in all the smoke from the grill into the house, because the two top windows at the apex of the house in the back don't have any glass to shut, just screening.

5, This is the big one, the management company accused us of planting the ants and roaches we found and of stealing the upstairs TV. They said that we were just trying to get our money back from the rental.....NEVER did they apologize for their rash statements or try to make amends for the inconveniences and accusation of their representative. It is the management company that gives this home a BAD review....I hope whoever reads this finds another place to rent as this one in mismanaged.

Owner's Response: We are so sorry to learn that this guest did not enjoy the property, we try very hard to make sure everyone has a great experience. 1. The ants in the master bed: we sent the housekeeper, housekeeping supervisor, and maintenance man to check on this. There were six dead termites on top of the coverlet. The housekeeper cleaned them up. They were dead (because the regularly scheduled pest control is effective) and there were no others. 2. Television sets: There are two family areas, one upstairs and one downstairs. One has a television. The other does not. This is an intentional choice by the owner, who prefers to reserve one family room for conversation, games, etc. The second family room is not advertised as including a television. This is what our reservationist explained to the guest. 3. The master bedroom and lanai sliding door have been re-screened. This was done immediately when the guest reported the problem, so that they could be comfortable for the rest of their stay. 4. The barbecue has been in the same location on the upper lanai for perhaps 12 years without any problem. Unfortunately, on those rare occasions when the tradewinds do not blow, smoke may hang under the eaves. Again, this was addressed immediately that the guest complained. Maintenance carried the grill to the downstairs lanai. When the tradewinds returned, they carried it back upstairs in order for it to be more convenient to the kitchen and outdoor seating. 5. Name-calling by management company: I don't even know how to answer this because it simply didn't happen. Obviously the guest didn't enjoy their rental. The highly slanted review that completely fails to mention how quickly we responded or how we corrected every complaint they had makes that clear. We regret that very much. Laulea is a beautiful, comfortable, well cared-for home, and we strive to keep it that way, and to promptly address any issues. Our staff is professional, experienced, and understanding. This part of the review is just mean, and it's not true. We hope potential guests reading this will give us a call and form their own opinion about our wonderful employees.
