Very quiet apartment in the center of Paris, a few step from rue Mouffetard and Jardin des Plantes. Métro Saint Marcel. Bus 91. Third floor, no lift. Three rooms and two bedrooms. The bedrooms are independant. Two to five persons plus one baby (crib provided). All amenities, including DSL.
I stayed in this apartment last month and it was one of the reasons why my vacation in Paris was a blast. Great place in a nice neighborhood - strategic location as it's close to commercial establishments, nice restaurants and transportation system. The apartment itself was very clean and had all the comforts of home. The host was accommodating with my requests, no hassles with the transactions. Would stay in this apartment again if ever I'm back in Paris in the future.
My family of 5 decided on a last minute trip to Paris the day before we decided to leave. We emailed the owner about renting his flat and he was most accomodating! We arrived less than 20 hours after first contact and he cleaned the apartment beautifully. He even let us store our bags on the sofa before he was finished. His English is quite good! The building is in a quiet neighborhood with great boulangeries and a Monoprix (grocery store). Great little table for 4 for dinner. It is 1 street over from the orange metro line (St. Marcel stop) which is very convenient. The building was quiet and everyone very respectful. I loved the fact that there are no keys, just keypad locks. Our teenagers could explore and come and go as they pleased from the flat. The hot water pot for morning tea is great (boils in about 20 seconds). The layout works exceptionally well in that you can access the kitchen from 1 of the bedrooms via the hall so you do not have to disturb anyone sleeping in the living room (foldout bed/couch) or the other bedroom. Beds very comfortable and lots of extra down comforters and pillows. High quality bedding a plus! Washer/dryer easy to use and so nice to have after walking/biking all day. Velib bike station across the street. Fabulous water pressure/temperature in the bathroom. Overall a wonderful experience at an amazing price. We would definitely rent again.
My two teen-aged granddaughters, my daughter-in-law and myself stayed five nights in this very quiet, convenient apartment. It was a short walk to the metro, and all the daily amenities that we required. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The washroom facilities were smaller than we are accustomed to, but quite acceptable, and even with four women, we made it work! It was a short walk to the Jardin des Plantes and the river, and a slightly longer one to the Jardins de Luxembourg and the shops on Rue Mouffetard. I would have no hesitation in staying here again or reccommending it to others.
Our family of three (10 year old daughter) stayed in the apartment for five nights and had a very nice stay in this lovely neighborhood which has convenience written all over it. It is an old building, the apartment offers little if any view as it faces a courtyard, and there is a note regarding noise requests, keeping footsteps light and within certain time frames due to the creaking floors. Obviously this is Paris, buildings are old, so this was part of the charm of staying here at this apartment. There are two nice sized rooms, an adequate kitchen, newer appliances and a great washer and dryer, adequate but small wash room, but again everything sufficed of course. The metro is on the corner, markets are nearby, a terrific bakery is around the corner, (they are everywhere of course) and the neighborhood felt safe at all times. For runners and walkers the Seine is very close and offers a walking/running path all the way to the Eiffel Tower for the most part. Notre Dame for example is no more than a mile away. Everyone in the building seems very respectful to others, the noise was minimal in all respects. This apartment was a terrific value for us, and over the five days we enjoyed our stay more and more. Thank you.
We had an excellent stay in this well located apartment. So close to everything and great base for exploring the city. We were 4 women and had plenty of room especially because the kitchen is totally separate from the rest of the place (for early birds and night owls). Much of the place is updated from the photos. There is a "klick-clack" couch/bed in the living room as well as a pull out chair. One of our group slept on the couch and found it to be fine. I loved cooking there-the kitchen is great, big fridge and lots of dishes. The dishwasher is quiet and quick. We did find the dryer to be slow, but I found that if you give the clothes an extra spin, it really helps. All the beds are comfy, and the place is well-maintained.
You will like your stay there.
Three of us stayed in this apartment 22-26 Nov 2011 and it was just what we were hoping for. The price was very reasonable and the apartment spacious. Granted, the furnishings were dated and it was a 3-glight walk-up, but these were minor negatives compared to everything else. It is located 3 bustops from Gare de Lyon (you could walk it really), 1 1/2 blocks from the Saint Marcel Metro station - VERY convenient, and a Monoprix grocery is right at the Metro entrance! The owner was very helpful and the rate was wonderful for Paris and for the location and 2-BR roominess. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
