Northport House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bathrooms (Sleeps 6)

Village home is 3 blocks from 'down town', beach, marina, bakery, grocery store, galleries, shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Easily walk or bike to all village attractions. Music in the park every Friday evening. Beautiful marina with public boat launch on North end of Grand Traverse Bay. Close to State Park and lighthouse with miles of beach and pristine shoreline. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore as well as numerous wineries and golfing opportunities are just minutes from this prime location. House is three bedroom (one queen, two full size beds) and one and a half baths. Interior is decorated in an artsy/boutique style with some antique furniture, but is still very bohemian in character (informal). Cable TV and Wi-Fi . Cathedral ceiling in living room with ceiling fan. Lots of artwork and funky collectibles, but not cluttered or fussy. Located on two city lots, it has a large and very private back yard with gardens both in front and back. Deck on back with patio furniture, gas and charcoal grills and fire ring in back yard. Kitchen is equipped with microwave, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder and dishwasher. Basic staples like dishwashing soap, paper towels, sugar, etc. New carpet in all bedrooms and new flooring in kitchen, dining room, bathrooms and laundry area( there is a washer and dryer). All bedrooms have stand fans and big double windows. Living room has working fireplace but we ask that only duralogs are used due to the mess with firewood. A dog is ok but will be an added charge and please, no cats and absolutely NO indoor smoking! Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.Towels and linens all nice and very clean. We hope you will love it as much as we do. Brand new 'executive' golf course within view and opens this spring.

About John Lesperance

John and Carol are married, no kids and have a dog and a cat. We have lived in Leelanau County since 1994 and bought an old farmhouse built in the 1860's and live in the Glen Lake area. We are born and raised Michiganders but came here after living 10 yrs. in San Diego. John is a property manager and Carol is a speech therapist at a head injury clinic, we are basically working class ordinary people. We love the outdoors, the beach, cross country skiing, hiking and all the things that lead us to this beautiful place. And we do not text and have it blocked on our phones so pls. leave a voice message or contact via e-mail or alternate phone no.

Why John Lesperance chose Northport

We chose Northport for our rental as the village is so quaint yet 'hip' as well. It reminds one of a New England coast town. It is at the tip of the Leelanau pennisula and is not overrun with tourists and has maintained it's character. We love the whole village as it has everything you want or need. Being right in the village you can walk a few blocks or ride bikes to everything. There is every outdoor thing you might want and the marina park is beautiful. People are friendly and it seems no one is ever in a hurry.

What makes this house unique

no extra cleaning fee, various payment options with discounts available, dog friendly and convenience of location in the village.

Mother of the Bride

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely stay in Northport. Enjoyed the shopping and restaurants. Walking around town, viewing the bay, boats and visiting the wineries. The main event was our daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception. It was very convenient to walk to town. The little cottage was clean and had all the necessities for a relaxing stay. The Owner's are very responsive and friendly.

Great vacation home

  • 5 of 5
Great house for trip to Leelanau Peninsula. Cozy, comfortable place with all the amenities from home, including internet. Accommodated all ages, including small kids (under 7 years old) and seniors (70+). Large, private backyard. Close to town and park.

Northport Village Cottage

  • 5 of 5
My family and I had a wonderful visit to Northport for a family reunion. The home was very clean, with comfortable beds, and dog friendly. Our dogs enjoyed the private backyard... Northport's fireworks-not so much. We appreciated the coffee grinder to make a fresh pot of coffee to go along with the Barb's Bakery donuts!! John was great to work through details with. Thanks again for a reasonably priced dog friendly rental.

In town but far enough away from the fray

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here with our two teenage boys and we every happy with our selection. The location was perfect: close enough to walk into the town, including the grocery story, yet far enough away from a nearby wedding hall that we were not at all bothered by the late night wedding that took place over the weekend (complete with a live band). Perfect! The home is clean, quiet, and comfortable: a classic small ranch with a lovely back yard. The kitchen is a bit of a throwback with its furnishings and pink accents. We cooked in it all weekend and enjoyed several great meals, including using the outdoor grill and the back patio. We even made a small fire in the fire pit, which was perfect for the cooler weather we encountered. We definitely recommend this as a "home away from home" in Northport.

Relaxing visit to Northern Michigan with family.

  • 4 of 5
My family of six love to visit Northern Michigan in the summers and usually stay in Leland, but we found this cozy house in Northport and were very happy with the quiet little downtown and that the house was only blocks away from the grocery, beach, park (we loved the sand volleyball court which we visited every night), library (got a library card to check out books), coffee shop (good for WiFi). The house accomodated our needs. We cooked all our meals, ate meals either on the dining table or the deck dining set. We used the firepit one night and made yummy s'mores. In Northport we enjoyed going to the beach, rock hunting, taking long walks, running and fishing. We also got lucky with beautiful 70 degree weather. Overall, this house in Northport was a great place to relax and enjoy the lake. We look forward to returning in the future. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Property was exactly as described

  • 4 of 5
Owners were very accommodating on this older but clean home. Common ammenities/incidentals were provided. The house was walking distance from the Northport Beach and downtown area. Convenient location and drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Suttons Bay, and Traverse City. WiFi and a 2nd TV would make this property even better. Full kitchen and BBQ grill came in handy to save on eating out.
