About Vickie Cramp

My wife and I have been living in Ouray since 1980. We lived in the Pricco house from 1980 to 1997. We built a house, just to the north of the Pricco house, on a vacant lot also owned by my Grandmother. We ran Pricco's Restaurant from 1983 until 2006, in the building my Grandfather built as a grocery store in 1906. My wife and I raised two children in Ouray, and up until January of this year were taking care of my Mother and Father in the house you will be staying in. My mother was born in the Pricco house. Ouray has been a very comfortable town to spend so much time in. We hope you find the same comforts in our home.

San Juan Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

The property was extremely clean, well maintained and ready for guests. The owners were very considerate of our privacy and assuring all amenities were available. The location was perfect for enjoying Ouray on foot and leaving your vehicle parked off-street. This property is perfect for enjoying the San Juan mountains and the best of Colorado, including owner who care that you enjoy your stay in "their" paradise. Thank you so much.

Wonderful accommodations in beautiful Ouray!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home for 3 nights in August of 2014. It is very nicely appointed and very clean. The home has beautiful woodwork and a very nice front and rear yard, with a gas grill. The furnishings are very nice and ample linens are provided, including towels for the hot springs. There is a generous amount of off-street parking in the driveway as well. A flat screen TV in the living room and Wifi provide options for entertainment after a day of 4 wheeling and / or sightseeing. The owners live close by and are very, very nice folks. We will definitely stay here again.

Charming home, beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 2-year-old daughter and I stayed in this historic house as part of our multi-state vacation. As recent Jeep owners, we came back to Ouray to enjoy some cool weather, explore the Alpine Trail and introduce our daughter to the mountains. The home was a terrific and comfortable base camp, with easy walking to many of Ouray's attractions. Vickie and Bob came by and visited, and made us feel right at home. We spent much of our time at the house sitting on the front porch and enjoying the surrounding scenery and watching the town go by. Located directly on the main road through town, we did have to keep a close eye on our daughter, but she enjoyed watching the passing vehicles from the porch - "big truck!" and "jeep!"

We appreciated the full kitchen and laundry, as well as the historic charm of the house, which combines original architecture with a meticulously-maintained 1970s renovation. Opening the windows for optimal cross-breeze made for ideal sleeping conditions (a real treat for folks from Texas who rely on air-conditioning 9+ months out of the year). The park and hot springs are an easy walk in one direction, and the main shopping and dining district in the other. One of the days we were there, we never got in our vehicle, and were able to enjoy the whole town, including a somewhat strenuous walk up to Cascade Falls (carrying a sleeping toddler most of the way was the challenge).

We hope to have the opportunity to stay here again, and highly recommend it!

Great Place to Stay in Ouray

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-week stay at the Pricco house in mid-July. Our expectations were high based on reviews, but our very positive experience exceeded our expectations. The photos and description of the house on the VRBO website are accurate. The house is extremely comfortable, clean, well-appointed and well-maintained. Its location is ideal - a short walking distance to the hot springs pool, trails, restaurants and retail stores. One of its most appealing features is the covered front porch, where we relaxed most evenings as we watched the activity on Main Street and the changing colors of the glorious mountains.

As other reviewers have correctly stated, the owners of the house, Vickie and Bob, are genuinely friendly and informative (as we can confirm by our own front-porch conversation with them) and readily available and willing to answer questions and provide information.

We travel to and stay in Ouray primarily to take advantage of the area's many hiking and jeeping opportunities; however, we also appreciate the small-town, locally owned restaurants (especially, Maggie's Kitchen) and shops (like Mouse's Chocolates & Coffee). In addition, the proximity of Ouray to Silverton, Ridgway, Telluride and Montrose makes it quite convenient to take day trips to those towns with their own charms and attractions.

Bottom line: a savvy, discriminating traveler will be delighted with the Pricco house in Ouray, which we highly recommend. Tom and Kathy

Wonderful 1st Experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our first vrbo experience. The owners had everything ready for us upon our arrival. The house was perfect for our family of four. We ate in a few nights so the kitchen was much appreciated. The location was convenient as it was a very short walk into town to shop, eat or set up a jeep/rafting/hiking trip. A few deer visited us in the backyard so the kids LOVED that! We were able to meet Bob & Vickie before we left for home. They were very friendly and wanted to ensure that everything worked out with the property. I would definitely stay in the Pricco House again!
