Historic downtown Fernandina (covering a 50-block area) is full of charm, gas lanterns, and 19th buildings. Even some cobblestones. And the shrimp boats which have defined our heritage for hundreds of years are still here and serving us daily. Side by side with the charter boats (fishing and sightseeing excursion opportunities abound). There are even pelicans at the right time of year. The beaches aren't crowded. And traffic is a non-issue. Heaven!

The Owner purchased this townhome in 2004
The sand and the sea...
The history of our island, going back some 5,000 years if you wish --- or maybe only back as far as 1562 when the French first found us.
The folks who are spending the winter in our unit don't have a computer, and they never plan to own one, so they won't be submitting a comment. But, they assure me that they love it. This is their second winter and they have already signed up for next year. I keep asking: "Are you sure you have everything you need? The answer is always Yes. "Is there anything I need do, or add, or change?" And the answer is always No. I won't submit their long list of accolades. Their repeated re-renting kinda' speaks for itself, don't you think?
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean, attractive, and very quiet townhouse. It's in a beautiful area with lots of gorgeous ancient trees, and only 5 minutes from the beautiful uncrowded beach. The living room is very comfortable, and the little patio/veranda is a great place to read. There were a couple of times when we needed to contact Deb, the owner, and she was immediately helpful. Everything we needed was there for us, and it is close to everything on the Island. As a bonus, her handbook has great tips on where to eat!
This pet friendly unit was our temporary home for five months while we were building on Amelia Island. It was clean, well appointed, and thoroughly "provisioned"; even including shampoo and laundry detergent. We thoroughly enjoyed the less than five minute walk to the beach and the back deck quiet privacy. Highly recommended rental!
This place was so much more than we expected. I guess I didn't believe the description, but should have! The owners provided everything...even soap, shampoo, paper products, laundry and dishwasher detergent, towels and beach towels!!! We had stayed in this complex before, but we were not given any of the necessities.
The townhome was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, dishtowels, potholders and small appliances. Also, loved having TVs in both bedrooms!
Forest Ridge Village is in a great location...quiet complex, beautiful trees, and only a short walk to the beach. Terrific for those of us who do not like to board our dogs, too! Our dog had a wonderful beach trip as well. Deborah, the owner, was so easy to work with when I made the reservation, and during our stay. She answered all of my questions and in a timely manner.
Be sure to visit Fort Clinch, the Lighthouse, and all the wonderful shops in historic downtown Fernandina. So many excellent locally owned restaurants! And of course, the beach is beautiful no matter what time of year you visit Fernandina.
So looking forward to our next beach trip! We would not hesitate to rent this townhome again. Plan to stay in this townhome, leave your worries behind, and you will have an awesome vacation!!!
I spent the full month of October at the condo. You could not ask for a cleaner, more comfortable, better located and equipped home away from home. The condo was even nicer than promised in the pictures and advertisement. Miss Deborah, the owner, is kind, funny, and always available to help. You will want to take her home!
The condo was lovely and immediately felt like home. The beach is only a short walk, the pool and tennis courts a hop and a skip away. The whole complex is pet and child friendly. It was a pleasure staying at Miss Deborah's, and so hard to leave. I hope to be there again, soon!
A last minute decision was made to take a holiday getaway Thanksgiving weekend, and G2 was the perfect spot!! The decription of the property in this listing was excellent, and working with Deborah was exceptional!! She is willing to go above and beyond to make your stay everything you hoped it would be. The townhouse was clean, inviting, amazingly accommodating, and provided everything you could possibly need to feel right at home. A wonderful selection of brochures, maps, recommendations, and personalized tips were provided to help familiarize yourself with the area immediately. We can't say enough about the beautiful beaches (perfect for long, tranquil walks), the historical parks (transporting you back in time), the friendly seaside port (offering unique shops and friendly local service), and the delicious array of casual OR fine dining - all just a short walk, or drive, away! And when you aren't out exploring this beautiful area, there is a nice selection of historical (and present day!) reading selections, games, and puzzles graciously provided by the owner. We felt right at home, and truly had a hard time departing!
Our family of 4, just stayed at G2 this past July 4th week. The condo is prefect! We had everthing we needed. Having the two bedroom upstairs was ideal. We could nap the kids and not worry about waking them up. The condo is decorated adorable and comfortable.
Working with Deborah has been terrific. My husband is a beach snub and Deborah was so great to send me pictures of the beach and sand.
The walk to the beach was just minutes from the condo. The playground was 30 seconds from the front door and is shaded. My kids enjoyed playing there everyday. We did go to the pool once and it's very clean and quite nice.
I am booking next summer vacation with Deborah at G2.
I thoroughly recommend this condo and Fernandina Beach, FL is a terrific spot. You can't go wrong!
Terrific golf courses (something for every budget), Off-shore, Back Water and Pier fishing, FAB-u-lous restaurants, Horseback Riding on the Beach!, Antiques, Shops, More Shops, Art Centers, Marsh Kayaking, More Golf, Birdwatching, Miniature Golf (great fun!), Aerial tours, 40-yes-40 Tennis Courts, Stately Mansions, Bike Rentals, Miles of Hiking Trails, Fossil Hunting, Cruises up and down the Amelia and Nassau Rivers--through beautiful marshes, also to Cumberland Island, and St, Mary's, A selection of Charter Boats, too!
