Brian and Maureen have been in the area for 35 years. Brian as a Chiropractor, Maureen as a Massage Therapist. We have come to love the Peninsula for its cycling, hiking, mountain biking and backpacking. Maureen grew up in Ohio, Brian in Tacoma.

Maureen Mittelstaedt purchased this apartment in 2008

We built the home in 2008 on ten acres of land. We love our two dogs and Port Angeles has offered us all we need. The location is close to town yet has the feel of the country. With its quiet serene atmosphere summer days and nights are the highlights for living here. We love the easy and quick access to the trails in Olympic National Park. Star gazing can be done from hurricane Ridge, 17 miles away.

A pond is situated within steps from the door, a hot tub and steam room for your aching muscles after a hike. A piano is available for your playing please. After a day of sight seeing you can relax at the fire pit, make so' mores and view the wildlife and the stars..

PEACEFUL EASY FEELING

Perfect location as a home base to explore Olympic peninsula. Above the town, close to hurricane ridge. Quiet, private. We always do VRBO. And this was a great find.

GREAT STAY NEAR OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK!

  • 5 of 5
We had a great stay here for our two nights in Olympic National Park. Having a kitchen and living room for less than the price of a hotel was fantastic. The place is VERY clean and well taken care of. We really appreciated the hot tub and steam room after three days of hiking. Communication was also very easy. Would definitely stay here again!

HEALING AND RELAXING RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
Thanks for sharing your wonderful space with us. A quiet and peaceful setting with good open sky for viewing the stars coupled with a conveniently located hot tub was great. The personal steam room was the perfect antidote to a weekend of pollen in the air. Sorry we didn't get to personally thank you. This is a great location to explore Olympic National Park, go to Victoria for the day, or the Dungeness Spit.

PERFECT LOCATION; LOVELY VIEW

  • 5 of 5
We just spent 3 nights in this cozy, warm, extremely clean and well appointed apartment. This was our well-located home base for exploring the diverse and spread-out Olympic park and the Port Angeles area. The hot tub was welcome after wet hikes! The heated floors are a treat, too. We admired the beautiful woodwork and tile throughout the apartment and the comfortable living and dining area.
The mallards on the pond and a family of deer were fun to watch; the frogs at night a chorus of charm, though these thoughtful owners provided bedside earplugs for those of you who may not be so frog friendly.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely response. Yes, we are used to the frogs singing at night but I have to remember some people are not, hence the ear plugs! What is really a joy is when those ducks have their babies each year and I get to watch them grow up on the pond.

We are happy you enjoyed your stay on the Peninsula. We hope to make it down your way this year and we will keep in touch...

LOCAL & NICE

Local & Nice

Needed an in-city location and found this to be a very comfortable place to stay. Pretty view, very quiet and nice interiors. Steam Room and Hot Tub were excellent, although having to wait for steam room to auto-clean was a bummer. I would definitely go back! Owners were very kind to reimburse me for a night when my plans suddenly changed which showed me a lot about their dedication to their guests!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying in our VRBO. I am happy you were able to come for at least one night and understand that plans do change. Yes, the steam room does go into auto clean every once in a while and we can't control that but happy you were able to enjoy before and after. I hope you consider staying with us again on your visit to Port Angeles.

GREAT, QUIET LOCATION WITH GREAT AMENITIES.

  • 5 of 5
Came to Port Angeles for a week-long baseball tournament, and I felt I had to have a place with a kitchen, so instead of using local hotels, I found this place. It's a very nice, clean apartment, in a secluded feeling area, but it's less than 10 minutes away from the baseball fields. It's a converted daylight basement with a house being lived in above, but I didn't notice the people above even once. I'd definitely come here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review and we hope that you come back again this summer. Glad we were able to help you out during the baseball tournaments.
