Overview

Kennebunk Pond Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Location, location, location

60 Minutes called Alfred, Maine one of the most desirable small towns to live in. Its lovely downtown is classic New England - its Shaker heritage is visible. Its special lake and sweeping old farm land warms the heart. Its location in southern Maine - close to world class beaches, Boston, Portland, and other areas is a well kept secret. You will love its peacefulness and lush beauty.

About The Owner

I enjoy New England architecture and the sense of history old farming properties hold in their presence. This home is a classic and one can almost feel the farmer who built the place present on the property! They say every time a grandchild was born, he planted an apple tree. You will see old, old apple trees flowering with joy in springtime.

The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2010

Why The Owner chose Kennebunk Pond

I chose this home because as a young person I came to southern Maine every summer to swim in Maine, cold water. I love the ocean, the beautiful skies of Maine and the trees. The snow is peaceful and full of frolic. Happy memories of snow shoeing when I was a kid.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The fireplace in the dining room, complete with the cooking over, makes me think of colonial families - gathered in their dining room at days end, cooking over the open fire. When I set my dining room table at holidays I feel cozy and warm all over. It is a perfect home to celebrate family love and friendship.

The horse property is close to logging roads, so there are trails to ride on, close to the house and barn. The famous ocean beaches of southern Maine are all within 25-3 minutes away; you are not swamped with tourist traffic. The Amtrak train service to Boston runs every day from Portland, stopping in Wells, Maine - only 12 miles from the property. You can visit Boston in a day and return to Maine that same day! Exceptional location. A bus service from Portsmouth, NH goes to NYC every morning at 6:30 am, arriving in NYC at 11:30 am! Great, convenient service.
