We call California our home and wouldn't live anywhere else. We live in the Bay Area just outside San Francisco, but it was our dream to own a place in Wine Country. Healdsburg was perfect -- a great blend of Sonoma wine country mixed with an almost old-fashioned charm downtown. We love the area and are eager to share its warmth and charm with you.
Gary & Leslie Miller purchased this cottage in 2011
We knew this house was the place for us the second we walked in. Built just after WW2, the house has been lovingly updated with top-of-the line features. Everything is provided for you to enjoy your stay. It's clean updated on a quiet street just a short walk to the plaza or a short ride to the wineries. The 800 thread count linens are changed and ironed after every stay.
The location is perfect -- walk less than a 1/2 mile to downtown and enjoy seeing all the unique homes along the way. Or, if you don't want to walk, feel free to use on our bicycles. Even hanging out at the house is fun. The shower in the master bathroom includes a steam feature to relax and unwind after a long day of wine tasting.
We were lucky enough to stay three nights in this charming cottage. It was spotlessly clean and delightfully furnished. Kitchen and baths are completely up-do-date as well!
The owner is extremely responsive, which makes for a really relaxing stay.
I would definitely stay here again!
Enjoyed Thanksgiving at this cottage! We absolutely loved the house, small but very cozy and clean!
Great outside patio to enjoy dinner, heat lamp included! Walk to downtown is a good 15 minutes, but doable! Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed 2 nights in late November. Lovely stay. Very nice furnishings, amenities, and well equipped kitchen. It was a chilly time of year and the heater worked quickly and kept us nice and warm. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends. We enjoyed exploring Healdsburg and the surrounding countryside. The fall colors and few crowds made it especially nice. The two separate bedrooms and baths were perfect for us.
We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the cottage in Healdsburg. The home itself was very nicely furnished, and had all of the amenities we needed, including a great steam shower. The outdoor patio was a nice retreat, and we sat outside and drank wine. Although it was August the patio heater still came in handy when the evening chill set in. We used the bicycles in the garage and biked all around the Valley. We had our dog with us and the house was also near a nice park that was within easy walking distance. Gary and Leslie, the owners, provided excellent instructions on how to access the house, and how to use all of the electronics. The bed was extremely comfortable and we probably slept in much more than normal because of that!
The only slight potential negative was that it was a little far from the main town square -- you could walk it but it would be a 15 minute walk each way. That didn't bother us but you should be aware if proximity to the main square is important to you. And, as mentioned, the bikes were very handy for getting around.
Overall it was the perfect retreat for our us (much better than a hotel), and Healdsburg is a great small Russian River Valley town to visit.
Totally enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and we couldn't have asked for more. Enjoyed walking to town, gathering on the back deck with family for dinner and a few glasses of wine in the evening. Thanks for sharing your home. We'll definitely be back soon.
We had a fantastic time in Healdsburg. The house had everything you can possibly need. We really appreciated all of the extras. Our family really enjoyed being avle to alk to the square for allof the great foda nd fun.
