Right nearby, it's just a two minute walk to Sun Valley Lake, with its stunning backdrop of Mt. Baldy and Dollar Mountain. Rent a paddle boat from Sun Valley Company and explore the lake in summer, or just hang out on the shore and play volleyball or horseshoes. The bike path adjacent to the condo is also a great way to explore the area.
In the winter, take a scenic, leisurely stroll to Carol's Dollar Mountain Lodge and sit out on the large patio in front of the outdoor fire pit, have a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of wine, and watch the skiers. For beginners, Dollar Mountain's Snowsports School is a warm and friendly environment to hone your skills with 10 runs, 628 feet vertical rise, and five lifts. For something a bit different, trade in the skis for a set of snowshoes and meander your way through the miles of picturesque terrain of the Nordic and Snowshoe Center at the Sun Valley Resort.
Year-round shopping and numerous restaurant options can be found a short walk away at the Sun Valley Mall, or in Ketchum, less than two miles away. Start the morning with eggs Benedict and coffee on the terrace at Gretchen's, then wander around town for some shopping. You can spend the afternoon browsing the art on display at the many galleries, then duck in and out of small shops, looking for little treasures to bring home. Dinner can be as simple as grilled pizza and beer at Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill or a fancy evening for two at the Ketchum Grill, voted one of the %u201Ceight best ski town restaurants%u201D by Snow Country Magazine.
