My father owned Snow Mass at Aspen and it was sold before I was born. He then bought a 1000 acre ranch in Basalt where I was born. When he passed he left 6 acres to my siblings and myself, but we were forced to sell it. It broke my heart. Colorado is in my blood and I've always wanted my own home in the mountains. Now I finally have it. I cannot live in it now, so I want to share it. I love this Cabin, Rustic, with all the comforts you could ever want.
Clare purchased this cabin in 2013
This entire area has been through such destruction. We feel very lucky and blessed that we have made it through this devastating flood - as many did not. We keep them in our prayers.
Come stay with us and remember the beauty it still very much has.
It is the place I've wanted all my life. My perfect day is to hear the river while falling asleep, get up and throw in a line. Go for a great hike, come home and soak in hot tub, and take a swim in the heated pool, and then have my sons make a great barbecue and have grilled fish from my own river.
Catch and keep fishing, Plenty of great Mountain and river views. Mountain Goats, Elk, and Black Bears can be seen occasionally in woods around the house.
Just relax in the wonderful bedrooms, with Flat Screen TVs/with cable in every room bedroom. It is amazing!!
I read through all of these reviews, which helped me decide to book with Clare for a 40th birthday celebration with 8 total guests. There was more than enough room in the house (probably could have handled even more). From booking until we left, Clare was in touch with me keeping me posted on weather situations and a few things that were being worked on around the house due to all the storms in Colorado. One apprehension I had was losing cellular service in the canyon, but the wi-fi worked great. We were able to use Facetime and wi-fi to communicate with families back home. Two of our guests were even able to work from the cabin online. All of the modern amenities, in the tranquility of that beautiful canyon made it a truly care free vacation. Had lots of fun in the back swimming, hot-tubbing, sauna, climbing the mountain in back, playing pool, horseshoes...you name it. Even some spotty weather didn't dampen the great time had by our crew. Can't wait to bring my family back for a visit very soon. Thanks again Clare for making it a first class visit. Your place is a true gem! Thanks again, CQ
We had seven people stay and it was very comfortable. On the way up we saw big horn sheep crossing the river. Little did we know that they would be sitting outside the cabin windows. We were able to watch them every morning. The cabin itself if well kept and the kitchen is will stocked with utensils. The only discrepancy was that the pool was not available when we stayed (early April). I can understand it not being available however I don't recall seeing when the pool is usable on the web site. The hot tub and sauna totally make up for the pool not being in service though. We had a great stay.
Thank you Clare for such a special slice of heaven. We had a very enjoyable weekend and that was in part to your home. Everything you could ever need was at your fingertips, down to spices. Just pack your backpack, don't forget your bathing suit for the hot tub and pool, and visit this place!!! The beds were delightful, the scenery beautiful and my company was a blast! We used the hot tub extensively and ensured all lights were turned out so we could see the stars. We cooked all our meals in the fully stocked kitchen and on the grill and watched some of the NCAA tournament on the HUGE television. Thank you again and we can't wait to visit!
This cabin is absolutely wonderful and has everything you could possibly need! 8 of us stayed 4 nights and had a fantastic time. Clare made sure we were satisified with everything, one night I wanted to light the tiki torches and she had someone bring us a gallon of oil for them without even hesitating, If you have an issue you can bet that she will resolve it to the best of her ability. We had a nice blanket of snow to wake up to on our last night there and the canyon was just gorgeous. I will definitely be back! THANK YOU CLARE!
Clare has this place stocked with everything you might need, I wanted to light the tiki torches one night and clare didnt hesitate in sending someone up with a gallon of oil, you can bet if you have a problem Clare is going to do her best to fix it and make you happy! The SONOS sound system in the house is awesome as well, you can have for different songs set in 4 differents rooms using a smart phone or tablet! The jacuzzi was so relaxing and was very popular with our group. On our last night we got a nice blanket of snow to wake up to and it was absolutely beautiful in the canyon. I will definitely be back!
This home may be dubbed a "fishing cabin", but it is, by no means, a "cabin"! Getting to the house was incredibly easy, and if you're a fan of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones, you'll love driving through the canyon - it'll remind you of scenes from both novels. The house itself was wonderful - everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that we could possibly need was there. The lay out was great for our party - two adults upstairs, and 4 young adults downstairs. The beds were SO comfortable - there is a blanket/duvet/fur quilt on the beds that is comfortable enough to just curl up in in front of the fireplace......the hot tub was heaven...the sauna was so HOT!! and relaxing.....My son and nephew "climbed" the mountain behind the house, and views of the river looked like a postcard. I truly can not say enough positive about this house. Clare was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with, and we can not wait to visit again.
We are 12 miles from Estes Park in the Big Thompson Canyon. We have the river and the Canyon in front of us running through the Roosevelt National Forest; which our cabin is on. If you hike up the back of the property, you will hike onto the portion of our land where it meets The Rocky Mountain National Forest land. This is one of the most beautiful spots in Estes. I was concerned about the traffic at first. Now I just don't hear it unless I go out to sit and watch it and think how I used to sit and wish I had a cabin like that. It just feels so private that you feel very safe.
