Family Adventures

  • 5 of 5
My family of 5 enjoyed our stay in this conveniently located and cozy home during our vacation in SF. I booked last minute and Deb was so responsive and accommodating as well as willing to provide advice and info for our stay. We had the benefit of parking our car in the driveway. We used the MUNI just steps away to get us everywhere! We loved exploring everything the city had to offer and then coming "home" exhausted with the knowledge that Deb's home was a lovely, clean, cozy place to rest. Plenty of linens, towels, and the comforts of home. Far superior and cheaper than 2 hotel rooms in the city. We loved West Portal with its quaint shops and variety of restaurants. We loved eating bfast in town then going into the city. We purchased the City Pass for sights and transport and got our money's worth.

We LOVED this house!!

  • 5 of 5
Our family takes a road trip every summer and always rent a house/condo during part of our trip. This was our first trip to San Francisco and this house is definitely one of our favorites!! It is super clean, quiet, has lots of charm, and is extremely close to public transportation (in addition to having a private drive to park in). It was so nice to be able to park the car in the driveway and not have to worry about moving it on the street, or finding a parking spot. (Although there was always ample street parking while we were there.)

The location was perfect! We had a car, but only used it one day to drive to Monterey Bay Aquarium. We bought the city-pass (I highly recommend getting Alcatraz city pass), which included 7-day muni passes (includes the cable cars, trolley's and buses). This was awesome b/c parking is expensive and traffic can be bad, so we just used public transportation to get all over town. It was simple and the kids had fun! The muni station is at the bottom of the hill, and b/c several lines go through it, we rarely had to wait over 2-3 minutes to catch a subway to town. There is also a school with a park across the street. Our kids LOVED playing at the playground in the evenings while we were preparing supper, or after dinner.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner (although there were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of the house). The beds were super comfy, and the shower head was great! We never ran out of hot water, even when we all took showers back to back! The linens were high quality and everything in the house was super clean!!

The TV works great and the internet worked perfectly too. We also loved the keyless entry. We didn’t have to worry about keeping up with a key, and it was easy to unlock and lock the house.

There was a little grocery store down the hill (by the MUNI station), and also a Safeway about ½ mile away. (Within walking distance if you don’t have a car) We drove once and walked once when we were only getting a couple of things.

Deb was amazing to work with. She was so friendly and sweet and answered all our questions. Her husband was even kind enough to give us advice on what to do and see as we journeyed to Northern California after our stay in San Francisco. Deb was so easy to work with and was just a phone call or text away if we had any questions. After staying at this cute little house, our kids now want to move to San Francisco!!

Fabulous location

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here when I needed heart surgery at UCSF. The house is very comfortable and well-stocked. It's an easy 1.5 mile drive to UCSF Parnassus. The location close to the muni station and the off-street parking were important to us. The WiFi worked well and the bed was very comfortable. The downstairs/basement apt permanent tenants were quiet. We'd stay here again.

A Fabulous Home!

  • 5 of 5
We absolutely LOVED this house!! First, the location is amazing, as it is a one-minute walk to the MUNI (metro rail) and to the cool West Portal area with great breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The house is right out of Pottery Barn--cozy, quaint, beautiful, spacious, and immaculately cleaned. The mattresses, sheets, and pillows are all very high quality. The bathroom was really cute, and the shower had great water pressure-total bonus. Although we did not need one, we rented a car and were able to park on the street directly in front of the house. You will not be disappointed!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5
We arrived to a charming, beautifully decorated home. A nice welcome note and bottle of wine from the owner. The furniture was very comfortable and clean. Our visit was to be close to UCSF for a family member but we were able to walk into the town of West Portal a few times. The town in just down the street and has all the restaurants and shops you would expect. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be back to stay for a vacation!

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in Debbie's home for 2.5 weeks with our two small children (ages 1 and 4). The home is very comfortable and well appointed, it comes complete with towels, linens, stocked kitchen, internet, TV. The location is excellent: across the street from a park, and less than a block away from the MUNI station, library, and West Portal shops and restaurants. We recommend this home for anyone visiting San Francisco, for vacation or otherwise. Debbie is very warm and responsive, by phone or email, it was a pleasure communicating with her and meeting her as well. Thank you!
