The perfect home away from home.

  • 5 of 5
I am extremely pleased with my choice of VRBO in San Francisco. The house is very warm and cozy with all the comforts of home. The owners certainly provide a fantastic experience. I've stayed here a number of times on my visits to San Francisco, and consider this my home away from home. And the location is perfect....lots of eateries and shops just down the street, and convenient transportation to anywhere in the city and airport. I highly recommend this place for the perfect stay in San Francisco.

Awesome house in a great location!

  • 5 of 5
Our family of five (two adults and three kids) stayed at this house for two weeks in July of 2014. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The house itself is pretty and very well kept. The beds were SO comfortable and the towels were very soft. The kitchen was well-stocked with the supplies we needed to make some meals while we were there. The owners made sure to let us know about area restaurants and attractions and they were available to answer questions that came up during our visit.

The location of the home is so convenient. West Portal is a fun neighborhood in its own right. We highly recommend the Submarine Center for delicious sandwiches. Also, we thought Paradise Pizza & Pasta had the best pizza in town. Right across the street from the house is a playground that our kids enjoyed visiting. We took many walks during our stay, throughout West Portal as well as through the surrounding neighborhoods. If you don't have a car, a Safeway supermarket, as well as the Stonestown Galleria mall, are both within walking distance. There is even a little convenience store about a block away from the house.

Public transportation is less than a block away, and is very easy to navigate. If you do have a car (as we did), we highly recommend taking a drive down Lombard Street, the "crookedest street" in San Francisco. We also enjoyed the view from Coit Tower in the Telegraph Hill section of the city. Finally, we took a few trips to Fisherman's Wharf while we were there. At the wharf, you can find great ice cream at Dreyer's Waffle Cones and the best fish and chips in the city at Codmother Fish and Chips.

If you're looking for a great house in a very safe and convenient location, look no further! We highly recommend this home to anyone looking to explore the unique city of San Francisco!

Nice Home in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5
We stayed (4 nights) to attend SF Giants games. The home is nicely appointed, CLEAN, and has everything you need (& more) for a comfortable stay. Homeowner was accessible, though we didn't need anything. Cost was less expensive than Downtown hotel rates. West Portal neighborhood was walkable, fun, had great restaurants/coffee shops, and friendly people. MUNI was convenient transportation to ATT Park & Embarcadero, while our car stayed conveniently parked in the driveway. The only negative was that the Giants lost the series to the Dodgers!! We most definitely would stay here again.

Fantastic house in the City.

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here over the summer. Fantastic setup. the owners took great care to ensure a comfortable stay. Plenty of linens, soaps, shampoos, etc. Very comfortable bedding, btw!! Great location with the streetcar down the block for quick access to downtown, beach, zoo, restaurants, etc. If you want to experience traditional San Francisco living, this is the neighborhood to hit. Would definitely book again.

Family Adventures

  • 5 of 5
My family of 5 enjoyed our stay in this conveniently located and cozy home during our vacation in SF. I booked last minute and Deb was so responsive and accommodating as well as willing to provide advice and info for our stay. We had the benefit of parking our car in the driveway. We used the MUNI just steps away to get us everywhere! We loved exploring everything the city had to offer and then coming "home" exhausted with the knowledge that Deb's home was a lovely, clean, cozy place to rest. Plenty of linens, towels, and the comforts of home. Far superior and cheaper than 2 hotel rooms in the city. We loved West Portal with its quaint shops and variety of restaurants. We loved eating bfast in town then going into the city. We purchased the City Pass for sights and transport and got our money's worth.

We LOVED this house!!

  • 5 of 5
Our family takes a road trip every summer and always rent a house/condo during part of our trip. This was our first trip to San Francisco and this house is definitely one of our favorites!! It is super clean, quiet, has lots of charm, and is extremely close to public transportation (in addition to having a private drive to park in). It was so nice to be able to park the car in the driveway and not have to worry about moving it on the street, or finding a parking spot. (Although there was always ample street parking while we were there.)

The location was perfect! We had a car, but only used it one day to drive to Monterey Bay Aquarium. We bought the city-pass (I highly recommend getting Alcatraz city pass), which included 7-day muni passes (includes the cable cars, trolley's and buses). This was awesome b/c parking is expensive and traffic can be bad, so we just used public transportation to get all over town. It was simple and the kids had fun! The muni station is at the bottom of the hill, and b/c several lines go through it, we rarely had to wait over 2-3 minutes to catch a subway to town. There is also a school with a park across the street. Our kids LOVED playing at the playground in the evenings while we were preparing supper, or after dinner.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner (although there were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of the house). The beds were super comfy, and the shower head was great! We never ran out of hot water, even when we all took showers back to back! The linens were high quality and everything in the house was super clean!!

The TV works great and the internet worked perfectly too. We also loved the keyless entry. We didn’t have to worry about keeping up with a key, and it was easy to unlock and lock the house.

There was a little grocery store down the hill (by the MUNI station), and also a Safeway about ½ mile away. (Within walking distance if you don’t have a car) We drove once and walked once when we were only getting a couple of things.

Deb was amazing to work with. She was so friendly and sweet and answered all our questions. Her husband was even kind enough to give us advice on what to do and see as we journeyed to Northern California after our stay in San Francisco. Deb was so easy to work with and was just a phone call or text away if we had any questions. After staying at this cute little house, our kids now want to move to San Francisco!!
