The view. The unique furnishings. The privacy. Truly the coolest home on the Bay. With lots of room to enjoy the outside, the land is over an acre. Private beach. Set on the water, not the highway. Great alternative to Nick's Cove when you are seeking value, privacy and first class waterfront accommodations!
This private property has two homes. Perfect for retreats, special events or landmark holidays. The separate cottage originally was one of the main boat building sites on Tomales Bay. Spacious and unique, it can be used for yoga, lectures or as an extra home for additional guests. It is large and has a full kitchen, bath and separate bedroom.
A friend told me a long time ago about his vacation mantra. His mantra goes that the place that he and his family choose to stay in for their vacation must be exceedingly better than where they live lest they just stay home. I have adopted this mantra ever since.
This vacation property at Tomales Bay is a piece of heaven. The interiors in both the main house and the guest house are well appointed and have the owner's personal touches but yet is not exclusive and made us feel very much welcomed. The views from both houses - towards the bay - are awe-inspiring. The kitchen at the main house comes well stocked and spoke to our creative side. From the island that sits on top of what seems to be an old railroad cart to the lamps on top of the kitchen island, imaginatively crafted from oyster baskets hanging from Manila hemp, the kitchen is artfully crafted and yet very functional. The living room's centerpiece is a hutch (if I can call it that) which blends very well with all the furniture and decor even when the feel of the entire house is eclectic... and the dining room... what can I say? Who doesn't want to wake up in the morning and have breakfast while looking out to the bay and seeing fog lifting up over the horizon? To top it all one is afforded the same with the guest house.
My family had a wonderful time in this vacation property and kudos to the owner for sharing this to a lucky few.
We spent 5 nights here when we came with our three young children from Ohio for a friends wedding in Tomales Bay. This was a great home base for us to explore the area and provided us with ample space and beautiful amenities to relax at the end of each adventure filled day! We were able to visit Point Reyes, Muir Woods, and even Yosemite as day trips. The little beach nearby provided adventures as my little ones found crabs, anenomes, and even a sea slug. It was a beautiful home with everything we needed and nothing we didn't!
My friends and I spent the weekend up at Dana's place for my girlfriend's birthday. We absolutely loved her home. There was plenty of room for 8 people and it was a fantastic space for a group dinner. The views are simply stunning and the gardens were serene. We spent most of Sunday just staring out on the bay soaking it all in.
The location is fantastic - about 1/2 mile from Nick's Cove restaurant and a couple of miles from The Marshall Store.
Dana is wonderful - super nice with some spot on recommendations. She was very responsive, flexible, and fair. I will absolutely stay here again with friends or family.
What an outstanding property overlooking the Bay! We had an awesome experience and left feeling relaxed and totally refreshed. The house is beautifully appointed with amazing art, a casual/elegant atmosphere, and a spiritual ambience. From the second you walk in, you know there is something special about this house. From the comfy beds to the charming living room to the dining room that invites you to linger for hours watching the sun set over the water, we were drawn into the magic of the place. It was hard to believe that just a short distance from San Francisco, there is is a somewhere so authentic, so cool in an understated way, so full of beauty and peace. We and our friends can't wait to return.

The minute we arrived at the property I knew I was in a magical place! The house literally sits at the edge of Tomales Bay and looks to Hog Island and across to the Inverness shoreline. The air is fresh, the view is spectacular and you instantly feel calm and relaxed. The main house is warm and inviting – makes you feel welcome. It feels like the owner has thought about all the details that go into making a vacation property a home away from home. The kitchen is lovely and a fun place to cook, drink wine and talk for hours. The barn space is amazing! Wide open, light-filled and inspiring. I love the galley kitchen at the back of the barn. The décor is awesome too. Oh and everywhere you look you see that amazing view. My family and I were in awe of the deer that were gathered at the water’s edge the first morning of our stay. We will be coming back as soon as we can! Thanks so much for opening your property to us!
Just over an hour from San Francisco, yet like visiting another country. Private, yet lots to do. A foodie farm-to-table mecca, with oysters, grass fed beef, organic farms, Cow Girl Creamery, Wineries, Brick Maiden Bakery. Great restaurants or private meals with the farmers. Kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, trail running, hiking, horseback riding, biking or just be lazy. Blissful.
Less than an hour to the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Bodega Bay.
