Why Agnes O'Sullivan chose Issac

Issac - a little, charming, historic village situated in the stunning Crempse Valley, in a heart of Dordogne, surrounded by lush, green countryside and many places of interest nearby (Chateau de Montreal, famous distillery “Reymond Clovis”). There are plenty activities for adults and children alike: wine testing, canoeing, pottery making, painting lessons, go-karting, fishing just to name few. There are Aquarium, Museums, Prehistoric sites, Aqua Park, Park-en-ciel (adventure park-zip wires), pony clubs, golf etc., very popular with trekkers, bike and horse riders. Nearby medieval town of Bergerac, on banks of the river Dordogne, offers excellent selection of cafes and restaurants found in the little, charming side streets. There are over 250 vineyards surrounding Bergerac alone, one of them famous Chateau Monbazillac. Issac’s location makes it a perfect base for exploring Dordogne and beyond. You can visit: to the West - famous St. Emilion, Bordeaux, and even the seaside (Arcachon, Cap Ferret and Dunes de Pyla), to the North – Perigueux and Brantome, to the East – Sarlat, Lascaux Caves, Issigac, Montazier to the South. Whatever you want do and whichever way you go great adventure awaits you! However, if you just want to relax, why not stay by the shimmering water of the pool, just enjoy the sun and listen to the sounds of nature...

A wonderful week!

5 of 5
Submitted: September 4, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
What a wonderful week we have just spent at the Cottage! It had everything we needed and more besides, and all in such stunning grounds. We all felt extremely comfortable in our holiday
cottage - it was like "home from home" - all tastefully decorated and in-keeping with a cottage-style.

We breakfasted in the garden or on the terrace, and had lunch and barbecues round the pool. Perfect! The children, aged 17 and 4, loved the gym, as did we. We could have spent a week just in the library!

We could go on ... but suffice to say we all had a fine time, it just wasn't long enough to do all the exploring the region has to offer. We'll just have to come back.

Thank you so much.

Very nice, relaxing holiday

Submitted: July 23, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
After a journey of 1.500 km we arrived at the Cottage full of expectations - and they were all fulfilled. The Cottage is a very cosy place, an old farmhouse redone to a very high standard, just perfectly suited for a family looking for a relaxing holiday away from it all - whether it is by the pool or on the terrace with a glass of nice local red wine. The Cottage is very conveniently located in between the truly impressive sights of Lascaux, Pechemerle and other prehistoric sites, the idyllic medieval towns of Bergerac, Sarlat and Perigeux and the wine region of Saint Emilion. Thanks again to the owner Agnes, who - although living next door - fully respected our privacy, but was always there to provide an explanation or guidance. We have greatly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the Cottage. Best regards Hans

Excellent!

The accommodation was excellent. The fireplace in the large sitting is quite magnificent and the accommodation overall proved very comfortable and well appointed. The many character features were beautifully conserved and made the cottage a truly charming place to stay. The kitchen was well appointed and there were very attractive facilities for dining both inside and out. Although we didn't actually use the gym, the array of equipment was amazing and clearly catered for all tastes. The grounds are large and beautifully kept with a lovely swimming pool. The owner was always there to offer help when necessary but there was also total privacy in the arrangements, with the cottage having its own outside area which is not overlooked. There are splendid walks in the surrounding forests and countryside and there is also easy access to towns such as Bergerac. This was our first experience of renting accommodation In France and we really feel that we struck gold!

We had a very relaxing holiday

Submitted: November 14, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
We had a very relaxing, get away from it all holiday - just what we needed! Cottage and garden were excellent (water in the pool a bit cold!) and your hospitality and readiness to help was really appreciated. We loved local restaurant in the nearby village. Great food, good atmosphere - would recommend. Wishing you every success for the future. The Irish Family
