TROPICAL PARADISE HOME W HEATED POOL, SPA, WATERFALL, AND GARDENS (2B)

Holualoa House Rental Photos and Description

Garden Hale: Nestled among tropical flowers, palms and fluffy Japanese grasses

Enjoy resort living on hillside slopes at a perfect elevation. Aromatic tropical breezes, spring-like temperatures, and birds singing in this sub-climate are to be sure to tickle your senses. Not too hot, not too cold, Homes Over Kona are located centrally in the historic, quaint, artsy coffee town above Kona called Holualoa. Only 10 min. away, Kona’s shoreline beaches, downtown, and neighboring Captain Cook Town are all very conveniently located.

Homes Over Kona is a complex of four private homes of different sizes and this particular listing is for the Garden Hale (2B). Description of this unit is listed in detail below. To rent the whole property exclusively please visit vrbo #482045 or homeaway #482045vb.

This complex is newly built (2013) and furnished modern-tropical, with an Asian-Hawaiian flair. The 15' Waterfall Lagoon Pool and Sports Massager Hot Spa is communal. Exclusive use of the Private Infinity Edge Pool with Massager Jetted Hot Spa and Pebble River is reserved for the main Grandview Hale.

The pools are all solar heated and designed to feel as if you are sitting in natural Hawaiian waters. Both the private Main pool and Waterfall Lagoon pool boast deep blue waters to match the Hawaiian oceans and giant lava beds to lay and relax on. The Waterfall Lagoon has a 15 foot waterfall drop that trickles and streams down creating an ambiance that only the sounds of water can offer.

The gardens are abundant with walking paths full of fragrance, proud of our native fauna, colorful plants and sweet smelling lei flowers. Yes, you can even pick and make your own lei. Majestic Monkey Pod trees canopy over the property and provide perfect shade for reading a book or taking a nap in a hammock. Fruit trees are everywhere and you are welcome to pick what you can eat. Don’t be surprised to find a bunch of bananas, basket of passion fruit or a fresh pineapple waiting on your lanai when you visit us. Other fruits on the property include plum, serinam cherries, guava, lychee, mangosteen, rambutan, mango, papaya, star fruit, pomegranate, avocados, coffee, many kinds of citris, and our secret miracle berry. Guests will also receive a bag of our local Kona coffee that is grown, picked and roasted right here in Holualoa.

Homes Over Kona is a unique property designed to keep you in tune with the aloha spirit of Hawaii. We want to share our air, our fauna, our wildlife. We want to welcome you to our homes.

GARDEN HALE: Unit Description

Nestled between avocado trees, amongst tropical flowers and fluffy Japanese grasses, this unit is appropriately named the Garden Hale.  Although this unit only has 2 bedrooms, it feels spacious due to it's large open-plan living and kitchen area as well as an outdoor lanai to spread out on.

Relax in your living room in front of a large flat screen HDTV or read a book on the adjacent lanai, furnished with comfortable tropical furniture. The expansive 8' slider leads from the living room to the outside lanai connecting your spaces and introducing tropical breezes, garden views, and a feeling of openness for you to share the beauties of Hawaii. The TV is set up to the internet and offers Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc. Complimentary Netflix allows you to watch a generous variety of movies for the whole family. This unit is perfect for unwinding after a busy ocean day snorkeling and diving or mountain hiking and biking.

The lanai also has an enclosed screened in portion for 4 person dining and cooking in a bug free environment while enjoying the fresh feeling of Holualoa. The outdoor covered cooking facilities include an oven, range, and microwave with a sliding door leading directly into the kitchen area where there is the refrigerator, bar sink, dishwasher, and counter space for preparations. The table is also counter height to allow for additional preparation space as well as additional dining space for 4.

The kitchen boasts mahogany custom cabinets with granite countertops and a bar top for a casual snack or chat. Inside the cupboards you'll find a complete set of cookware, dishes, and utensils, to complement the host of time-saving appliances: microwave, blender, coffeemaker, rice maker and dishwasher (to name a few). Even if you love our kitchen, we also provide an outdoor BBQ so you can watch our fabulous sunsets turn to dusk.

Each bedroom has a queen bed suited with well designed beddings. The bathroom shows off Japanese design using porcelain tiles and pebbles to decorate the floor. An 18' deep soaking tub allows for relaxation in luxury after your hard hike or beach day. The sink is separate to the bathing and restroom area for privacy and maximum efficiency. This house can accommodate 4 persons in beds, however futons or beds can be set up to accommodate an additional 2 persons (for an extra fee).

Other amenities include a large laundry washer and dryer (outdoors) along with beach towels and extra pillows and linens. You can enjoy complimentary high speed wireless internet for all of your electronics as well as access to a complimentary Netflix account where you will find a vast array of movies for the whole family. Cable TV is not offered in this unit, however internet TV is installed for movies, youtube, news, sports, etc. A sports gym only 10 minutes away offers day or short stay passes which give you full access to their facility at a minimal charge.

As mentioned in earlier descriptions, Homes Over Kona offers several private homes to choose from. This particular unit shares the use of the 15' Waterfall Lagoon Pool and Sports Massager Hot Spa. (The Private Infinity Edge Pool, Massager Jetted Hot Spa and Pebble River are reserved for the main Grandview Hale). All pools are solar heated boasting deep blue waters to match the Hawaiian oceans and designed with giant lava beds to lay and relax on. Waterfalls trickle down the sides and above your heads offering the true ambience of vacationing in Hawaii.

This 2 acre property has over 2000 feet of walking paths and country roads to explore. If you look carefully, you may also find a mini lava tube. Gardens are full of Hawaiian fragrance, proud of our native fauna, colorful local plants and sweet smelling lei flowers. Available are lei making tools, suggestions and instruction guides to show you how. Yes, you can pick and make your own sweet smelling leis to wear to dinner. Fruit trees are everywhere and when ripe, you are welcome to pick what you can eat. Coffee plants abound offer you the true feel of a coffee farm. Reading a book or taking a nap in a hammock is made perfect under the Majestic Monkey Pod trees which canopy the property and provide perfect shade. The 1000 foot elevation sub climate introduces comfortable breezes and temperatures specifically experienced in this Holualoa area and nothing like the sticky hot found along the shoreline or the cold found at the much higher elevations. 1000 feet is the perfect elevation. You found the best.

Aloha from the Kilohana Outrigger Canoe Club based in Redwood City & Fremont CA. We were participating in the largest Canoe Race on the Big Island, the 42nd Queen Liliu'Okalani Canoe Race. Our club rented all four houses on your property.

We enjoyed out little hale with it's beautiful view and all necessary amenities. We ate good ono, went to Hapuna beach and Waimea on our off days. Many Mahalos!

Homes Over Kona was designed by the owners who fell in love with the land and built the homes to represent Hawaii with minimal disturbance to the 2 acres it sits on. The owners careers are in the art, design and event businesses and these attributes are made evident in the homes offered.

The colors, themes, and landscaping to the homes compliment the nature which abounds us. Black and red for lava. Green and browns for nature and deep blues represent our oceans. Genuine stone and woods are used to finish and furnish these homes.

The entertainment areas are just that. The owners specifically designed each area to entertain your senses. TV's are large and lay flat against the walls. Spaces are open to enhance family communication and scenic viewing pleasure.

The owners also have a love for cooking and this is evident in the design of the kitchens. All kitchens are fitted with genuine granite countertops, real wood cabinets, and a true focus on making cooking a convenient experience.

Adventure is what brought these owners to the Big Island and perfection is what made them settle in the town above Kona, Holualoa. The Big Island has the best of everything. Almost every climate is attainable here ranging from snow capped mountain tops to tropical rain forests and hot sandy beaches. The owners love diving, and it doesn't get better than this anywhere else in the islands of Hawaii. Hiking too, is a favorite, and these owners have explored many. They have left a suggestion book with details so that you can find children friendly beaches and trails as well as some of the more challenging ones.

PIECE OF PARADISE!

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from our Hawaii vacation with another couple, and I can't say enough nice things about this vrbo rental. The kitchen, split between indoors and the lanai, made it easy for 2 or 3 people to prepare food. We loved the breezy lanai and the sound of the ocean far below in the early morning. After our adventures, we came back to the lovely pool and hot tub. It was hard to leave, and our other two island rentals were not nearly as nice as this.

PEACEFUL, RELAXING, AWESOME, FRUITS AND LOTS OF FR

  • 4 of 5
This is your one-stop-shop! Great view with cool breeze on the patio, brand new/modern built home with great appliances, peaceful, quiet, and yes your OWN fruit garden! Right in front of this home is a large avocado tree and LOTS of avocados. This home has everything that we needed; towels, beach gears, gas BBQ. We love how the stove is built just outside the sliding doors (enclosed inside mesh windows), we really enjoy breakfast and the breeze. We had a lot of fun walking around the fruit garden and picked A LOT of fruits! Just minutes to many beaches. Make sure you take a road trip up to the summit of Mauna Kea @ 13, 500 ft (yes, you can drive all the way up there)...to watch the sunset and star gazing! On the bookcase is an excellent book called (something) Revealed. Tells all secret and incredible places to visit!
Thank you, Emily for sharing your property! We will definitely be back and will tell our families and friends about the home!

GREAT PLACE..

  • 4 of 5
This house is very clean, has great outdoor area, guava and avocados grows right outside, there is plenty of room, has everything you need to cook and sleeps 2 couples in the 2 rooms easy. It says it sleeps up to 6. I can see one person on the coach for 5 but no sure how it could sleep 6 adults maybe children though. Emily who I spoke to with homes over Kona was very nice. There was snacks and kona Coffee made just up the road provided for us which was awesome. There was also beach and snorkel gear provided which was sweet. Only issue is we could not get a late checkout on our last day but that's understandable. The crying baby next door was tough to sleep through but otherwise it was a nice stay. I could not be more happy with this house for me and my groomsman before I got married.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you chose Hawaii as your location for wedding ceremony. The Big Island has so much excitement to offer! Sorry about the unavailability for late check out. If able, we always accommodate our guests and try and schedule cleaners to start later,...but unfortunately we had a Full Complex group coming in and we had a crew of anxious cleaners. Thanks for leaving your place so tidy. The unit does sleep 4 in beds,...and the additional 2 persons would be utilizing the futons provided. These with extra bedding are stored away in the closets. Although, usually reserved for the children,...but of course anyone is allowed to use them (if they don't mind a futon). We want to be able to accommodate the groups that are larger than 4 persons without having to upgrade to the 3 bedroom unit. This saves the guests lots of $ and most of the time it is to sleep a child (Like my family of 5,....a lot more challenging than traveling with 4!) :-) I am glad you had a great time and hope you choose Hawaii for your 1st Wedding Anniversary.

PRIVATE HIDEAWAY

  • 5 of 5
Spent 5 peaceful nights at the Garden Hale. We loved being away from the tourist area of Kona, yet close enough to pop down for groceries or dinner. The cottage has everything one might need for a very pleasant vacation. We spent hours on the porch and by the beautiful pool relishing the wonderful aroma of coffee roasting at nearby farms. It was also a good launching spot for day trips to national parks, beaches and Kona area attractions. We walked to a neighboring coffee farm and took the tour; also went to several very nice galleries at Holuahoa village. Best part of the week was probably the wonderful avocado trees that were laden with fruit. Wonderful week.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

  • 5 of 5
I love, love this home, I wish i could have folded it up and put in my suitcase and brought it home with me. Very modern but not overwhelming. The owner had everything in the home to make my vacation a memorable stay. The surrounding trees provide the privacy needed for peaceful return from hectic day of exploring the island. I love this place would definitely rent again on next visit to The big island and highly recommend this to anyone considering, don't hesitate.
