There really is no better location in Minneapolis. Surrounded by Tudor, Victorian and Colonial mansions
we are close to downtown with easy access to the highway. Streets are quiet and tree lined. After visiting
Kenwood or Loring Park and the famous Claus Oldenburg sculpture of a spoon with a cherry enjoy
brunch or dinner at 'The Kenwood', a great 'farm-to-table' eatery. For a special night book a table at nearby 'La Belle Vie,' Minneapolis' premiere fine dining spot. The local favorite, 'The Wedge,' is the best food co-op in Minneapolis. Bike down the Kenilworth trail to the hip warehouse district.
A bus runs from the Walker to the rest of the city. A car is required for trips to the suburbs.
I am a New Yorker that moved to Minneapolis this winter.
Eliza purchased this apartment in 2013
This duplex combines all the attractions of urban living with a wooded surrounding. The location is easy to live without a car. You can walk or bike to restaurants, Minneapolis' fantastic co-op and downtown or uptown. The two apartments are large, well-designed and feature as much space as many houses. I love the classic Arts and Crafts details like the box beamed ceiling, leaded glass windows, unpainted woodwork and built-in buffet. Being across from a great bike path and seconds from the sculpture garden is amazing.
-Well cared for
Everything about our stay was perfect! The location could not have been any better for attending our conference at the Walker Art Center. The house is beautiful and quite spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed, comfy beds, and great sitting areas. Eliza was there when we arrived, told us about nearby food stores (The Wedge was great), and made us feel very welcome.
This property has it all:
- Superior location for any downtown event (our Uber to-and-fro Staples Center area was $1.24) and beautiful location amid some of the oldest and most gorgeous homes and wooded areas in Mpls. and right next door to Gutherie, Theater, Walker Art Center, Loring Park ... And within range of the Basilica so you can hear the heels toll.
- Charming interiors with nice linens, comfortable beds, spacious bedrooms, well-appointed kitchen, and inviting lounging spaces. The buildings classic architecture is enhanced by the owners' decor and thoughtful touches like board games and shower essentials.
- Considerable value given the absence of hotels in this stunning neighborhood, and the rental rate is right in line with downtown hotels IF there were a way to compare the size and ammenities (but there isn't ... This is much finer)
This rental feels like a home away from home, and a lovely experience.
Our family wanted to stay in the Cities for a week to hang out with family, at a location close to kid-friendly activities. This apartment was great! It is exactly as described, and the owner is very responsive and easy to work with. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful and there are walking/running/biking trails right across the street. We had an easy time getting to the highway to travel to other parts of the Cities. It is an older property, though well-maintained, so it has a lot of character that may not be what everyone is looking for. I liked it, and our young children were happy. The only (tiny) issue is that of the 4 parking spaces out back, only one was really accessible for our minivan because of the proximity of the house behind.
We discovered a huge bonus when we made plans to attend the MN State Fair - an express bus leaves from about a 5 minute walk away! Definitely not important to everyone, but for us it was fantastic. I would stay here again.
This is a great location in Mpls - Very centrally located. The apartment has plenty of room, and is very nice for a family or two couples.
Well maintained house. Owner is delightful to work with, professional. Comfortable beds - everyone slept well. Easy access to laundry, just down the stairs. TV and wi-fi available for down time. Spacious and comfortable for a family of 4; everyone gets their own space. A/C works well - keep the windows closed in the summer. Opens up well for cool morning breezes. We absolutely loved this place. !!
Easy, 15 minute walk to dinner/restaurant, at Loring Kitchen - I recommend their walleye - fabulous. The Walker Art Center sculpture garden is a great anytime stroll - 5 minutes away. Convenient location to downtown and central location to any place in the Twin Cities.
We were fortunate enough to e last minute reservations and the place was perfect! I flew in from out of town and met my sister and her husband for a once in a life time event. The apartment was clean, well appointed, the beds were firm and the linens fresh, and the kitchen made meal preparation so convenient. I'm reluctant to write this review bec. I don't want my secret out in fear of never being able to use the location due to popular demand.
Everything we needed was close at hand and Eliza was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this location for numerous reason too long for this email.
This is a large and lovely apartment on the second floor of an old house in a great neighborhood. The living room and dining room are spacious and great. We were a family of 5 adults and there was plenty of room.
The master Br needs a new mattress. the one that is there feels like it may be horse hair and the bed makes a large amount of noise when getting in and out. The other beds in the other brs were great. There is one bathroom which is small and needs a bit of work. neither the sink or the bath/shower drains drained well. The water pressure in the shower was too low for the shower head that was there. The kitchen was adequate but needs a bit of help. The apartment was quite stuffy and had no AC. We were there on a beautiful spring weekend and we really just needed to open the windows. They are quite difficult to open. The owner Eliza was great. Very friendly and helpful.
Lowry Hill is the most exclusive and beautiful neighborhoods in Minneapolis. Walk down tree-lined streets with classic mansions to Lake of the Isles. Walk the other direction to downtown and the convention center. This private enclave is home to the wealthiest folks in Minneapolis. It is close to shopping and restaurants with lots of access to parks.
