Missoula Condo Rental Photos and Description

Perfectly Located One Bedroom In The Historic Wilma

Imagine the feel of a European getaway located in the heart of downtown Missoula. Original terrazzo floors, clay and exposed brick walls, a bathroom clad in marble and subtle colors help you relax the minute you step in the door. At 649 square feet, this unit is furnished with antiques, antique lithographs and European mounts in the style of Georgia O'Keefe. It has an open living area with views of the Clark Fork River, Caras Park and the mountains surrounding Missoula. The Clark Fork River Market (farmers market) is on Park Level, as well as numerous activities and concerts at the Caras Park Pavilion. On Park Level, Scotty's Table is located, offering fine dining for lunch and dinner. On the Higgins Street level, the historic Wilma theater hosts numerous concerts and independent films on a regular basis. Within the block, there are distilleries, bars, restaurants, live music locals, banks, coffee houses, yoga studios and numerous other enticing offerings.

Within the unit, the living room is open to a two person dining table and the kitchen, all with epic views to the river and mountains. It is centered on a fireplace and television. The kitchen has a compact refrigerator, two burner stove, microwave, countertop oven and most amenities for a comfortable short or long term stay.

On the backside of the fireplace wall is the bedroom, which shares the same gorgeous views of the river and mountains as the living and dining areas. A plush Four Seasons king size mattress, premium thread count sheets, down pillows and comforter await you. A flat screen television is located in the bedroom as well. (The pull-apart sectional couch in the living room can accommodate one or two people/children, depending on size, for additional sleeping space; one leg is 36' wide by 6'-6' long and the other is 24' wide by 5'-5' long.) The bathroom has heated marble floors, a tub/shower and a luxe feel (we do not provide toiletries).

The unit has solar shades and insulated, lined wool drapes. A portable air conditioning unit and oscillating fan offer respite from summer heat. In the winter, a radiator provides the primary heat for the unit, with a secondary unit available to ensure the perfect comfort level for you.

A dedicated parking space is always available for you on Park Level. If staying long term, there is an additional storage space for a mountain bike or kayak. Coin-operated laundry is also available on the Park Level.

Our goal is that your stay is relaxing, inspiring and unforgettable...and we'll do what we can to make it that. Come and stay with us.

Hi,

...My boss, Reggie Watts, stayed in your apartment last month. He really loved the mattress and sheets and was wondering what kind they are...

Beautifully appointed, classy, unique and welcoming. The wife and I had a great time while staying in the 'Pronghorn'. Just a stones throw away from everything Missoula has to offer and really the perfect spot to launch a great vacation. Hope to be back soon!

Lovely Western-Themed Condo But Note NO A/C!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this lovely condo for three nights in early August 2014. The condo itself is beautifully decorated in a western theme and we were personally greeted and shown around by one of the helpful owners. The Wilma building is centrally located downtown; we loved the location. However, there is no AC in the unit; only a swamp cooler that doesn't do much and a couple of fans. We were so hot that we could not remain in the unit during the day; at night it cooled down. Also, it is noteworthy that the fridge is a tall college model, so it would not hold enough food if you planned to cook meals during your stay. Also, although the unit comfortably slept the 4 of us, with the two teenagers on the leather sofa, the sofa would not be comfortable for anyone taller than about 5'7".

This would be a great rental for a couple or a family with small children during the 10 months of the year when Missoula is not hot. Perfect for football weekends in the fall. Scotty's Table, the restaurant on the ground floor, is excellent. We used the laundry facilities and they were adequate. Weekend renters should note that the unit's windows overlook a riverside park with gazebo where concerts, weddings, and many other events are held, so there can be noise until fairly late into the evenings. This was not an issue for us, as we enjoyed the music. It also would not be as much of an issue in the cooler months when the windows would not need to be open at night.

Owner's Response: Thank you for these comments. Late July and August in Missoula is always HOT. We have employed all measures possible to help the situation. Almost all of our guests feel that the overall experience of being in the Wilma is worth the trade-off of a 72 degree climate controlled room. We hope you will agree. When the building was first constructed in the early 1920's, no central air was installed. In the early 2000's, the building was condo-ized and again a decision was made to not do a whole building infrastructure upgrade for central air. At that same time, a covenant was put in place to not allow any "through window" air conditioning units to help maintain the historic architectural look of the building. Thus, fans and unit air conditioning units, as well as solar shades and lined drapes, are the best alternatives to the issue. The unit does cool off nicely at night, but one has to practice "heat control" in July and August. We note size of the refrigerator and sectional on our write-up so that people can consider if the offered amenities will fit their needs. We've had many four person groups (with four adults) happily enjoy the unit, but we do want potential guests to evaluate the size of the sectional to be sure it works for everyone. Thanks for staying with us at the Pronghorn and for the helpful comments.

Perfect Home Base for Exploring Missoula!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week-long thirtieth birthday get-away. The condo was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and right in the heart of downtown within easy walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, and other local attractions. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful; our flight landed at midnight on our check-in date, and they were happy to greet us and show us around the property, even at the late hour. The Pronghorn is the perfect home base from which to explore Western Montana.

amazing location and decor

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at this property for the Missoula Marathon. It couldn't have worked out better!!! The location was a few feet away from the finish line, which made it very nice with my sore legs. The bed was incredible, the glasses were fantastic, the view was very nice and bathroom was tasteful. Can't wait to come back!!

Fabulous and Unique!

  • 5 of 5

The Pronghorn was fantastic and I will absolutely be back to Missoula and hope to stay here. Fabulous location and unique and luxurious space. Can't beat it! See a movie downstairs, catch some live music next door at Caras Park, fine dining on the bottom floor, views of THE rive that runs through it (Missoula) and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, live entertainment, and the beauty of Montana at your doorstep! Owners were easy and great to work with as well. Again, can't wait to get back! Thank you!
