About Steve Frellick

I purchased this home to provide a vacation retreat in the heart of Asheville. I picked Biltmore Village as it affords anything one would want and need in walking distance, while also being close to the interstate & Blue Ridge Parkway. As an avid motorcyclist, I enjoy riding the roads that are the Blue Ridge Mountains, and then having a cozy welcoming place to return to. This home was meant to provide welcome and hospitality to all. I now hope that will hold true for many others as we open up this wonderful place for travelers from near and far visiting beautiful Asheville.

Steve Frellick purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Steve Frellick chose Asheville

I chose Asheville to someday call home, and wanted to enjoy it until the day we could move here permanently. This is such an amazing location. We get all 4 seasons, but Spring and Fall are the most intense, which is just spectacular! The Cozy Cottage & Biltmore Village provide everything one could ask for, right outside your proverbial doorstep. The people in the neighborhood are terrific, and everyone has a 'hello' and a smile for you when you are out walking. This is simply a great place to visit, and a super place to live someday.

What makes this cottage unique

This house exudes warmth and relaxation. The minute you drive into the Blue Ridge Mountains, you feel the connection with nature, and the serenity related to all the water & trees; then driving into Biltmore Village, you sense the connection that George Vanderbilt envisioned when he designed the Village itself....nature meets the city. Walking into Biltmore Village, the warmth and welcome of the 'town' overtakes you. The home is also only .1 miles to a bus stop with service to many spots in and around Asheville, and even a route to the airport. The house itself is simply 'cozy', affording plenty of privacy, while also promoting a sense of gathering, and sharing amongst friends and family. The home opens up to allow the sounds of the city and nature to cascade throughout, creating a calm and serene atmosphere. Sitting on the front porch, or relaxing on the back deck you can take all of this in......this is the life!

Our family of son and girlfriend and ourselves enjoyed your cozy cottage. It was a perfect place to enjoy some quiet and walk to the village for a wedding. You did a great job providing all things needed for a weekend of fun and rest.

Modern, Clean, Stocked Well, Accomodating Owners, IN TOWN

  • 5 of 5
We had a great 3 day weekend in Asheville recently thanks to the Cozy Cottage. When trying to find hotel rooms, or suites, for me and my friends, I just could not find anything that could hold all of us together and everything was so pricey! I decided to look into renting a house. Who knew I could SAVE money by getting more room?! Cozy Cottage accommodated our changing schedule and had very nice and modern features. Even though I am from Asheville it is hard to tell which rentals are ACTUALLY close to downtown. Every add "claims" to be close to Asheville but they usually are not! Cozy Cottage is right in Biltmore Village and VERY CLOSE to downtown. I would stay at Cozy Cottage again if I ever come with a group.

A favorite

I relaxed the moment I walked in the door. The house is open and bright yet cozy and warm. It has all the comforts of home surrounded by outdoor activities, site seeing, shopping and dining. Walk down to Bruegger’s for breakfast, then take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and stop for a hike or just enjoy the amazing vistas. You can relive an era of grand living with a visit to Biltmore Estate or have lunch on the veranda of the Grove Park Inn. I love to go downtown and shop the galleries, experience the fine restaurants or take a ride on the Purple Bus. Finally, it’s nice to end the day with an evening drink at the Red Stag or Wayside just down the hill or relax on the front porch in the beauty of the garden. Listen for the haunting sound of the train whistle as it makes its way through town. This house is a treasure.

Quiet, walking distance to several restaurants and points of interest

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I had a great time at this nicely appointed home. We were motorcycle touring and the garage was really nice to have when it rained. The place is very quiet and peaceful yet close to several nice restaurants and other points of interest. Downtown is a short bus or cab-ride away. Freeeway access is very convenient in all directions.

Home awat from Home - We Loved it!

  • 5 of 5
I usually stay in a Resort when on vacation but this time I thought, why not rent a home. Well, that was the best decision I made all vacation. My son and I hade an awesome time in Asheville. The home is close to dining, shopping, the Biltmore Estate and the awesome Asheville Night life. 10 minute to Downtown or the start of the Blue Ridge Parkway is perfect. Close but not to close.

The Home was well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of space for the two of us. I ride a Motorcycle so having a Garage to park her in at night was spot on.

I'll be staying here again,
