If you are looking for a peaceful, romantic hideaway surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Skaha Lake and Penticton, Vintage View Cottage has it all.
We have recently upgraded this heritage log cottage on our 23 acre property. It boasts a big spacious bedroom and fully equipped kitchen. Vintage View Cottage is situated amidst park-like settings with expansive lawns and inviting gardens and is totally private. The large covered decks offer an exceptional view of Skaha Lake with immaculate vineyards in the foreground.
The cottage has a unique rustic appeal, yet boasts all the comforts you require. It has a well-appointed bedroom with queen bed and walk out deck, a sleeping loft with queen mattress, a kitchen with all new appliances and fixtures, a utility room with new washer and dryer, a back patio with gas bar-b-q, and a living room tastefully furnished with a front sitting deck.
The cottage is perfect for a couple or small family who would like to experience a secluded, relaxing holiday. The setting seems like you are away from it all, but you are only minutes from downtown Penticton and Skaha Lake.
Whether you like to hike, climb, cycle, lay on the beach, tour wineries, or just plain relax, Vintage View Cottage is the place. We are very excited to offer this experience to you.
Claire & Fritz invite you to share a part of their space, an incredible setting to get away from it all. We live on the property and usually found working the vineyards or the gardens. You will appreciate the landscaped gardens which are Fritz's passion. This is a working vineyard run by Fritz and our grapes are sold to 3 local wineries. Claire's passion is cooking and entertaining and what spare time she has she spends in her vegetable and herb garden. Both have worked hard to make vintage view cottage a dream come true. Claire owns a retail store downtown Penticton, where she sells tea and hand knotted area rugs. Both love to travel and have seen numerous places around the globe and you will see some of the unique artifacts they have collected in the cottage.
We are constantly told what a unique and amazing little piece of the Okanagan we have. Vistas from every part of the property, and whether you awake to the birds singing or a breathtaking sunset you really feel like you have escaped away from it all. Just 10 minutes from Penticton it is hard to believe you are so close to all the conveniences when you arrive. Gardens, vineyards and the famous rocking climbing bluffs are on your doorstep. If it is peace and tranquility or adventure, training for the challenge or triathlons held at various times of the year, Vintage View Cottage is for you.
We spent 5 glorious days at this beautiful cabin in September 2014. Claire and Fritz were wonderful hosts and were very helpful with suggestions on how to enjoy this scenic part of BC. Great hiking, wineries galore, jazz festival, Penticton market, and more. The view is amazing from the cabin that has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. We could have easily stayed longer. Check out Claire's store Teas and Weaves in Penticton. Thank you so much Claire and Fritz for the memorable stay and your warm hospitality. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Above, the Skaha Bluffs, below in the middle distance Skaha Lake and the hills to its west, all around a vineyard and rolling lawns on the gentle west-facing slope. At the centre, a 100 year old log cabin, windows and views everywhere. The cabin has been beautifully restored, furnished and equipped, and recently a new wing skillfully added providing a glorious master bedroom.
Not easy to list or to rank all the attractions of this jewel of the Okanagan Valley. Location, location, location, the cabin, and, especially, the owners, Claire and Fritz. Claire was away during our stay and Fritz was a wonderful host: very welcoming and hospitable; strongly connected to the land, the garden, the vines, and to the entire Valley; and very happy to talk with us about the amazing history of his and Claire’s settlement and development of the property.
When we travel and stay awhile in one place, we like to rent a house. This late September visit to the Okanagan was to taste and purchase some of the wines from several of the newly established producers. This was hugely enjoyable, as was our stay amidst Claire and Fritz’s vines. A great place and great hosts. We’ll be back. Try it!
We enjoyed a delightful week in the Vintage View Cottage. It is just as shown in the listing only better. The cabin itself is beautifully maintained and outfitted with every convenience. The location has spectacular views of the lake but is also wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Claire and Fritz are the perfect hosts, hospitable and welcoming without being intrusive in any way. Ours was a thoroughly positive experience and we would recommend it without reservation – this cottage is a real gem.
Our 4-day break at Vintage Cottage was the best stay ever. Everybody knows that the wine region around Penticton is spectacular, but Vintage Cottage is its hidden diamond. Thanks to Claire & Fritz the small wooden house made us feel as we never wanted to leave this place. Very clean and cozy, well equipped. Lovely place in the middle of private vineyard with a view on sunset upon the Shaka Lake. And the night sky make you think about the decision whether you gonna lie down in comfortable bed or you will stay all night long watching that beauty on the porch...
The cabin has an excellent view, being located above the Skaha lake in Penticton, the setting are perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay, with vine, trees and many birds populating the yard. You can practically admire the valley and Penticton by night from the height of your bed in the large bedroom. The guest house is suited for two adults plus an extra couple for a short stay, but we found it perfect for a family with kids. we have a two and a half year old daughter and I think children could enjoy playing a real huge "backyard" or benefit of a lazy afternoon in a hammock.
There is so much to experience in Penticton in the summer months and Vintage View is the perfect starting and end point to your day. Morning coffee and breakfast on the deck overlooking the natural beauty of the vineyard and lake, hike, run or bike ride before peak sun and then cool off with a swim in one of the nearby lakes (short drive away). Or simply take a break from it all and relax at the cottage with a book and beverage. A wonderful place and the owners were very welcoming!
Vintage View cottage is tucked away on our property. Very private and secluded at the end of the road.
On a bench overlooking Skaha Lake you are surrounded by vineyards, hard to believe you are only 10 minutes from downtown Penticton. In the heart of the Okanagan valley where tourists flock from around the world. Festivals and tourist attractions start in May and continue right through until mid October, for the now famous annnual wine festival. Plenty of activities within a few minutes of your doorstep. Saturday mornings market downtown Penticton is a great way to spend the morning before heading to the beach. We love our piece of heaven and know you will too.
